We want to invite you and welcome you to the 19th annual Wild Wild West sale. We know there are many things going on in Denver at the National Western and all events surrounding the ASA and CSA. If you have been in the past the group appreciates your attendance and support however the group wants to invite you back or if you have never been in attendance we invite your inspection and promise you a great time. As in the past years, Willie and the group have always said “They are bred to be cows and this is the Wild Wild West.” The breeders involved in the Wild Wild West are cattle people and their consignments are bred to work and to add genetic merit and profit. Most of the cattle are raised in some harsh range conditions however are able to go on and work in any environment. Over the past 18 years of sales cattle have sold in areas of the country and Canada, going to 30 plus states. This is great testimony to the breeders involved and the cattle they have bred and produced. The genetics are proven and the group is proud of all their success stories across the country. All the breeders involved in the Wild Wild West understand the seed stock business and always are making adjustments in the their individual operations. As you can see all the breeders are involved in the bull business as well. I encourage any interested party to call and visit with any participant in the Wild Wild West; they know the business and their genetics and willing to share anything with you and along the way stand behind their product 100%. As in the past, please look up the bunch in the yards. The group always has been and will continue to be big supporters of the CSA and the pen shows. Please look up their pen animals in the yards and don’t be afraid to ask about making that short trip to Adams County Fairgrounds to view the sale offering at any time prior to sale day. Adams County Fairgrounds has always been home to the Wild Wild West sale and is also were many exhibitors lay over coming into the stock show. In this year’s offering the group again has stepped up with many strong sale attractions. The group is never satisfied with average or what they done last year so each year they work hard in doing better and offering their best to the prospective buyers sitting in the seats or being online on sale day. So, again we encourage you to be with all of us on sale day on Tuesday at 5:00. If after receiving the catalog or while you are in Denver please call or text or look up anyone involved in the yards, we will be glad to assist or answer any questions. If any questions on the sale offering or any sale matters please call Drew, Holli, or I plus any of the Wild Wild West bunch. We look forward to seeing you at the 19th annual Wild Wild West sale for great offering of Simmental and Sim Angus genetics. DP Sales Management

Ahlberg Cattle
It is a pleasure to welcome you to the annual Wild Wild West Sale. With another sale coming up it always makes us reflect on the past year. We have been blessed with another good year and a new beginning. After 30 years of living in the city and renting facilities and pasture, Rod and Vicky decided to put their business suits in the closet and pursue their next chapter in life – pursue their passion and love for Simmental cattle. We purchased some land with an old abandon homestead (only thing standing was a metal shop) and started building. Even though the barn was still under construction and corrals need to be built, on November 14 the cattle liners were loaded and Ahlberg Cattle moved to Wayne, Nebraska located just down the road from Cashley. In September, we celebrated Cashley and Bill’s wedding in Wayne, NE and are blessed to have Bill join our operation. Even though we have changed addresses our goals have not. We continue to strive to produce a better group of cattle than the year before. We are truly feel that this is the most consistent and quality set of females top to bottom that we have sold. Even though we believe we would have a very strong pen for the NWSS due to the move/time we will not be showing in the pen show this year. All the heifers in the sale are tested negative for PI-BVD, For the first time we are offering to sell a bull at the Wild Wild West Sale. A bull coming from one of our great producers and have retained a maternal sib for our in herd use. Don’t overlook this tremendous red bull. Lastly we would like to extend a thank you to those that have put trust into our program in the past. We appreciate your business. We look forward to visiting with you again. If you have any questions please feel free to call as we would be happy to talk about these sale offerings.

This heifer will be hard to let go. We absolutely love this heifer. She is an absolute knockout of a heifer. She is extremely pretty, big bodied, sound moving and has that presence that is extremely rare. She is very well made, clean lined and shares her dam’s good looks. Her dam is one of our favorites – a moderate framed female that is super deep and soggy, extremely easy keeper with a super udder. Yardley High Regard is a really complete and sound bull noted for producing stout, consistent offspring that will work in the pasture as well as the show ring. You don’t find many females like this heifer. BVD-PI negative. Double Polled, Double Black

Farah 866F has it all – a powerful maternal looking female with mass, size, straight lined and fluid in her movement all packed into a stylish package topped off with solid data. Farah is the kind of female that never goes out of style and will last in the herd longer than most. Both bloodlines are known for calving ease with a lot of performance. What a meat machine we have here. Not only does Flame Thrower excel in performance, rib shape and length of body, but is jammed packed power and muscle mass while maintaining a smooth structure. This comes as no surprise as he is backed by a dam that is extremely impressive. A maternal sibling to AHLB Hidden Treasure selling to Brandon Eads for $10,000.00 in the 2014 Wild Wild West Sale, AHLB Beige selling to James Stallins for $7500.00 in the 2015 Wild Wild West Sale, and AHLB Special Delivery, 2016 NE State Fair Champion Sr. Bull Calf & Reserve Grand Champion PB Bull. His sire is noted as one of the best of all red Beef King sons with amazing birth to yearling spread. Flame Thrower should have a positive impact in anyone’s herd. Tested negative for PI-BVD. Western Cattle Source is located in northwest Nebraska near the town of Crawford Ne. We raise reg. Simmental and commercial cattle along with a small Quarter horse program as well. I started raising registered Simmental cattle in the mid to late 1980’s. Prior to that we were using Simmental bulls on our commercial Angus Hereford cross cows. WCS emphasizes bulls and females that will work for our customers under several kind of environments. We currently run around 550 mother cows and 120 bred heifers every year. The cows are split about 300 registered and 300 commercial cows. We put embryos in the commercial cows every spring. Our cows run on rugged terrain varying from rough pine tree covered ground to badlands and the Ogallala grasslands. We trail our cows 24 miles to the grasslands and the rest get trailed 15 to 30 miles to and from pasture every year. Our cows have to work for us as they need to be super sound with good feet and legs and perform on limited feed. It takes between 15 to 25 acres to run a pair for five months. We need our steer calves to perform in the feedlot and hang with a superior carcass. We select our females to be feminine in design, super sound, good bone and feet, with capacity and high quality udders is a must along with a good disposition. Our bulls are designed to hold up under rugged terrain for our customers. We try to raise outcross genetics to the breed. We are currently part of the Foxy Ladies Sale where we sale bred heifers and handful of elite opens. We are also part of the Wild Wild West Sale during the NWSS in Denver. We consign every year to the BHSS in Rapid City SD as well. WCS currently markets all of our bull calves private treaty. We market around 60 to 70 bulls a year. We keep the top quarter of our bull crop every year. WCS markets a few show heifers privately every year. WCS shows a pen of bulls every year at the NWSS where we have had great success over the years. We show periodically at other state fairs and national shows. We have had the luxury of having raised or owned several champions through the years. Visitors are always welcome as we are located near historic Fort Robinson, Crawford, NE, Mt. Rushmore, Sturgis and Rapid City, SD. Feel free to contact us at Jock 308.430.0668 Brenda 308.430.2117 or herdsman Jeremy Kennedy at 308.430.4517

Oval F Ranch
At the Oval F Ranch in northwest Missouri, we believe in sound, productive, big bodied cows that can have a calf and raise it. We use EPDs to help improve all economical traits and appreciate productive females with eye appeal. We started in 1971 (ASA# 2729) with the purchase of 7 Parisien daughters bred to Bismark and have turned 16 generations from one of those heifers including our Princess and Julie lines, all AI sired. Our Oval F Linda L320 cow is a story in herself and has produced many popular sale cattle at the Wild Wild West and other national sales. We believe in the ASA slogan “The Cow Makes the Difference”.
Oval F All Time - son of Y26
We have also been successful in the bull department. We were fortunate to own and show AR Extra 8J to the Grand Championship at the National Show and all other major Simmental shows in 1979-1980. We are the breeders of Oval F Ringleader, Oval F Cool Dude, Oval F All Time and most recently Oval F Echo. Our bulls are marketed through private treaty and we are proud of the repeat business from commercial cattlemen in our area. We are located in fescue country in the rolling hills north of Kansas City. Our cattle are handled much like our neighbors’ commercial cattle. We do not creep feed and what you see is what you get. We recognize change is the future and try to embrace and utilize all of the most current tools available in making our genetic decisions. Including DNA testing and genomically enhanced EPDs. Life continues to evolve at our place as we watch another generation, Ella and Kate, grow into more significant roles. We rely heavily on their daily contributions to the family operation. From feeding, watering, moving, and sorting these girls play a vital role in getting everything accomplished. We are serious about breeding Simmentals with COW POWER production in mind and appreciate being part of the Wild Wild West sale. If you are interested in bulls or females please give us a call or stop by our stalls at the NWSS “In the Yards” then join us at this sale.

Selling 3 embryos guaranteeing 1 pregnancy by bull of choice guaranteeing 1 pregnancy if work is performed by a certified embryologist. Oval F Yin is truly a product of the Oval F Ranch program as she is the 13th generation that we have turned since dad purchased his first Simmentals in 1971. Take time to study the impressive EPDs on this true production female. Oval F Yin earned her spot in the donor pen the old fashioned way, by truly dominating each calf crop with her production. Her first calf was Oval F All Time who was purchased by ABS and is siring attractive good uddered females. As a 3 year old she raised Oval F Bright Future who was shown successfully and named 5th overall cow calf at the National Classic in Des Moines as a 2 year old. Next she raised Oval F Covergirl who was absolutely beautiful as a 2 year old and has a picture perfect udder. Her 4th calf is Oval F Daytime, a bull that we retained in our herd, who has done a great job. In 2017 she raised a bull that you will continue to hear about named Oval F Echo who we sold a major interest to Ruby Cattle Co in Murry, IA. As you can see every year she has produced top end noteworthy calves that are having significant influence on our program and many others so we decided to pull her out for a year and try to capture some extra impact from her dominating influence. That has turned out very well so we decided to share. Take advantage of these fresh genetics and truly proven productive cow. homozygous Polled, Homozygous Black

Very complete female both physically and on paper. F804 is big topped with nice rib shape and a cowy look. I realize from the time I write this until sale time there may be some changes but take time to study these EPDs. Top 10%-30% on almost every column. Study her pedigree a little deeper and you will see that she stems from the same cow family that gave us Oval F Linda and is sired by our herd sire who is a maternal brother to Oval F All Time and Oval F Echo. Flo truly combines our two most influential cow families. homozygous Polled, DOUBLE Black

Altenburg Super Baldy Ranch is located in northern Colorado and has been operating there for nearly 45 years. Altenburg’s emphasis is producing commercially oriented bulls for western bull customers. We utilize both Simmental and Angus genetics …. Red and Black. Simmental is utilized for adding growth and yield. Angus is used for calving ease and to add carcass quality. Both breeds have exceptional maternal traits, making the SimAngus females the most sought after cross in the industry. The resulting SimAngus – “Super Baldy” bulls are utilized by producers wanting just a little continental blood or to stabilize a crossbreeding program. We sell 120+ bulls and will hold our 27th annual Super Baldy Bull sale the 16th of March in 2019. Our cattle are summered at 6 – 7000 feet in “short grass” country requiring 20 acres per cow in the summer. Cows are “trailed” the 12 miles from the ranch each year. Cows are wintered on hay stubble, and corn stalks and calved outside. We try to run them as our commercial customers do. Both A.I. and embryo transfer are utilized to make improvements in genetic progress. Please go to our website and learn more about our program …. www.altenburgsuperbaldy.com

We have been a part of the Wild Wild West Sale since its inception, now 18 years, and are proud to be a Wild Wild West member. This group of western cattlemen has enjoyed bringing sound, useful cattle that will work in range conditions when you take them home. We say they are “bred to be cows”. Many will work for show heifers, and youth projects, but ultimately, they “are bred to be cows”.

A unique opportunity to purchase a split flush on what we feel is our most proven, our most productive cow and cow family ever produced at ASR. ASR M231 will be 17 years old this year, and has a calf every year of life …. she has never missed. She is due in February with an AI calf to CLRS Dividend. Her most famous calf is her son, ASR Longevity Y184, who was first sold to Mike and Celeste Rains of Oakley, KS, went on to be carcass and progeny tested, and then sold to ABS Global as a proven sire. In reviewing her cow record, she has had 15 calves (12 AI, 3 natural service) with a 367 day calving interval. She has had 8 heifers and 7 bull calves. Her dam, ASR Miss Fanfare G720 also lived to 17 years old, calved every year, and was sold pregnant. I have retained five direct daughters of ASR M231, and too many granddaughters to count, both from her and through her son, ASR Longevity. Needless to say, her influence permeates our herd. ASR Longevity progeny are known for soundness, great feet, nice udders, good teat size and quality. ASR Longevity sons are some of our easiest to sell each spring. We will flush her the spring of 2019 to a bull mutually agreed upon, and guarantee 6 embryos to the buyer. We will split flush costs. Homozygous Polled, Homozygous Black

We started our Simmental herd in 2005 and became an ASA member #245425. This year we have yet again expanded our herd with the purchase of bred heifers from Bridle Bit Simmentals. We are looking for these heifers to bring new genetics to our herd. We also implemented the Cow Herd DNA Roundup on all females.

Miss F804 has been a real eye catcher. We cannot say how well we have liked the quality of our Home Run calves. If you are looking for a heifer with calving ease she will do the trick. She is a moderately framed, feminine fronted heifer with a nice balance looking towards a profitable future for your herd. BVD-PI negative Homozygous Polled, Homozygous Black
In striving for top genetics we are also looking to produce sound, quality cattle. Our bulls are bred to throw top gaining calves, and we are always looking for improvement. Alongside Bridle Bit Simmentals, our bulls are being monitored on feed efficiency through the GrowSafe Systems Ltd., under the supervision of Tom Jones, owner and manager of High Plains Feedyard, Montezuma, KS. The bulls will be featured in the All Terrain Bulls Sale March 18, 2019. FOCR Miss F813

Check out this pure bred Black Hawk heifer. The options are unlimited with this outstanding heifer, just look at those numbers. With a big spread from birth to growth she does not disappoint. Not only is she pretty easy to look at with her feminine appearance and her smooth stride, but she will make a great producer with her deep middle and moderate frame. Her future is looking bright. This heifer goes back to one of our first purchases from Altenburg Super Baldy Ranch eight years ago. She would make a great producing mama cow to any herd. Her grand dam has been a major influence to the additions in our herd. She is a big boned stout heifer that has a flat top line ready to make a grand entrance. Milliron M Simmental is family owned and operated located in Northeastern Colorado, northwest of Holyoke CO. We have been in the Simmental business since 1981. We run mainly registered cows on sand hill grass in the summer months and corn stalks thru the winter months trailing the cows nearly 12 miles each winter as we move them from field to field . We run red and black Simmental genetics, trying to AI 100% of our cow herd to top genetic bulls. Embryo transfer is also an important part of our operation. Blake graduated from West Texas A&M in May of 2018 with a bachelors degree in Animal Science and is now employed with Premier Farm Credit as an Appraiser. We hope you like the females that we have brought to the Wild Wild West Sale this year. All females tested BVD-PI negative.

This kid-friendly baldy heifer has been an absolute joy to work with. She is a Hook’s Broadway 11B out of a perfectly uddered Uno Mas daughter. She has volume and style to burn. She will be a great show heifer that will become a great cow. Bryce has never let one of this line out of the cow herd. This is a very special heifer that will bring home a good calf every year. This heifer is double black and double polled. The genomic enhancement of her EPDs will be available on sale day. Polled, Black

Bryce has been showing Simmental cattle for 8 years. He loves the productivity and growth of the cattle. Bryce has marketed his Simmental cattle through private treaty bull sales, and the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Classic. This is his first time to ever sell a heifer out of his herd. This fall Bryce will attend Northwestern Community College in Powell, WY on a judging scholarship. He wants to become a veterinarian and continue to raise Simmental cattle.

This Uno Mas out of a Grandmaster first calf heifer has maternal ability to burn. She also has the incredible good looks that you would expect from this mating. While her personality may not allow a first year showman, I am confident that with a little bit of time and hard work, anyone will be able to hang banners with this one. After her show career, she then will become a productive cow in your herd. This heifer is double black and double polled. The genomic enhancement of her EPDs will available on sale day. Polled, Black
