GOLDBERG FIRSTCHOICE FILLER GOLDBERG WINS IN BLIND TASTING AGAINST COMPETITORS IN GERMAN TV SHOW “DER VORKOSTER” Cologne/Dortmund. Björn Freitag is one of Germanys most famous TV Chefs who travels through the country discovering new recipes and unique ways of cooking. In a special edition he reveals the hidden secrets of regional Gins from the middle of Germany. He visited a small Gin manufacture in Germany to understand the process of Gin making and got to know the great variety of different aroma profiles. After diving deep into the world of Gin Björn went on a journey to find out how to fully enjoy a Gin and what is the best tonic to pair. In an old pharmacy in the city of Dortmund he met Gin specialist and owner of various Gin Blogs Robert Kosic for a Gin and Tonic tasting. Explaining that every Gin has its unique taste profile Robert presented the Gins neat, on ice or with a little sip of water to support the different aromas. Soon it was clear that Björn enjoys drinking Gin and wants to try the most famous way of drinking Gin: the combination with Tonic Water. The variety of Tonic Water nowadays is huge, and each product has its advantage but the two experts wanted to know which tonic would win the category. In a blind tasting they tried Tonic Water with different price positioning comparing their aroma profile and carbonation level. Why carbonation level? It’s a classic Gin & Tonic that is served in a bag and decorated with small fish-shaped citrus peels. A fun and tasty combination which can be served in every bar as it is easy and simply done.
