The Liceu Opera Barcelona is getting ready to experience a unique moment, the world premiere of the new production of Lohengrin with the composer’s great-granddaughter Katharina Wagner. It is the first time that this production will be seen outside the Wagnerian temple of the Bayreuth festival, from the 19th March 19 to 5th April. This important event has an exquisite cast. The acclaimed tenor Klaus Florian Vogt will sing the leading role alongside Erin Wall as Elsa, and Evelyn Herlitzius as Ortrud, who has achieved great success with this role. The orchestra will be conducted by the Liceu’s Music Director, José Pons, following his success in Wagner operas such as Tristan und Isolde during the 2017/18 season. Lohengrin is Richard Wagner's last romantic opera. It is an excellent piece to start getting to know the great German composer’s music. Lohengrin is an opera in three acts. It includes one of the bestknown pieces to have transcended the opera house boundary, the famous nuptial march of Act III. Don’t miss this exceptional performance, full of all the ingredients that will make it one of the main dishes of the world operatic season.
