Die Gründung der Barenboim-Said Akademie und des Pierre Boulez Saals geht auf die Initiative der Daniel Barenboim Stiftung zurück, mit deren Hilfe auch zukünftige Projekte realisiert werden. Die Stiftung, die 2008 von Daniel Barenboim gegründet wurde, ist im Gebäude der Akademie untergebracht und dort als gemeinnützige Stiftung eingetragen.

Die Bundesregierung hat die Barenboim-Said Akademie mit einer Baukostenförderung unterstützt und übernimmt die laufenden Betriebskosten.

Das Auswärtige Amt stellt Stipendien für die Studierenden zur Verfügung. Das Land Berlin hat der Akademie das denkmalgeschützte Gebäude im Rahmen eines 99-jährigen Erbbaurechtsvertrages überlassen. Ausführliche Informationen über das Wirken der Daniel Barenboim Stiftung finden Sie auf Seite 140.

The Barenboim-Said Akademie and the Pierre Boulez Saal were established on the initiative of the Daniel Barenboim Foundation, which also raises funds for future projects. Established by Daniel Barenboim in 2008, the Foundation is housed at the Akademie, where it is registered as a charitable foundation.

The Federal Government supported the BarenboimSaid Akademie by contributing to the construction costs and currently covers its running expenses.

The Foreign Office provides grants for its students. The State of Berlin has made the listed building available to the Akademie on a 99-year leasehold contract.
