FAIRCLOUGH
On Tuesday's performance: The boys absolutely emptied the tank, I felt that Barnet Football Club had 11 warriors who refused to give in. I was overcome with how the boys kept going, I believe what has been achieved in the previous two games has been brilliant. We were better than we were against Bromley and every man just gave absolutely everything. I’m supposed to be floored, but there’s a side of me that was really jubilant with what the boys have taken on board and have carried out. We played against one of the best in the league, who are chucking money at it left right and centre. The boys were all together, really together and that is really exciting. We gave Stockport the fright of their lives.
On the boys attitude: Everyone who watched the game, would have seen the boys attitude. At half time, we resolved some issues, we were the better team in the second half. We have got more ball into their box in that second half more than I have seen Barnet do all season when I have watched. We had bodies getting into the box and it was really exciting to see from a Barnet side. I loved the performance.
On Harry Taylor: I looked at Harry in the eyes and said ‘that was awesome.’, it was his best performance in a Barnet shirt for some time, he was awesome from start to finish. He has been a player that is always a 7/10, no matter his position, he was a 9/10 nearly a 10/10, he was great.
On Aymen Azaze: We conceded after nine minutes and he could have been on the floor. He made some good saves and showed some real composure against some strong, physical players, with big reputations out there. I think the boy behind him has a big future as well, there’s two good goalkeepers ready and waiting in the ranks.

On Tuesday's performance: The boys put a massive shift in, it’s disappointing to concede the goals in the manner that we did. But the way its been going lately, we can’t keep dwelling on the negatives, we have to look at the positives. Over the last week I think we have shown as a team that we have the bit between our teeth. I think we were unlucky not to come away with at least a point, if not three points.
On the boys attitude: First ten minutes I thought we were a bit cagey, I felt we were a bit on edge. I thought as soon as we conceded, we grew into the game, they had their chances but we had our chances. I’ll have to watch it back, but I felt as if we were in complete control in the second half. If anyone was going to go on and win the game it was going to be us.
On Aymen Azaze: I gave him a special mention after the gaffer did his team talk, he has been unavailable and he’s only still learning. I feel for him, because the second goal takes a little touch and goes over his head. I think its a great opportunity for him, while he has his chance, he’s gone from strength to strength.
On Chesterfield: James Rowe was of course my manager at Gloucester, he’s done a great job, he’s turned it completely round. On paper, they have got some really good players. What’s good now is that I know Chesterfield go and look at how they are going to play against us, maybe before teams have known if they play their game, they’ll have a really good chance. It’s not gone the way I want it, but I’ll never stop trying and at the end of the day I hope we have turned a bit of a corner in terms of performances.

Match Report 0 BARNET FC
THE BEES FELL TO A 2-0 DEFEAT AT HOME TO WREXHAM. HOW IT HAPPENED The Bees came into the game after a weekend away from action, eager to put things right, after last Tuesdays defeat to Yeovil Town.
2 WREXHAM AFC
The Bees really came out of the blocks from the restart with a lot of energy creating a number of chances, including one from Anthony Wordsworth which forced a save. The Bees were having a number of corners, but were unable to get any real chances on goal from them, but were certainly causing problems in the Wrexham area. On 63 minutes, Courtney Baker-Richardson had a golden opportunity to bring the sides level when he was put through one on one with the keeper, only for his powerful effort to be saved.
They certainly looked ready for the challenge, moving the ball around well with quick interchanges, controlling much of the ball in the opening stages.
Wrexham were having very little of the ball in the second half, but reminded the Bees the threat they can offer with Theo Vassel putting a header just wide as the game entered the last 15 minutes.
Neither side really had a chance which threatened each others goal in the opening 20 minutes other than one from Jordan Davies which forced Scott Loach into making a fantastic save, with much of the play beginning to be played in the Bees half, as Wrexham grew into the game.
Despite the Bees best efforts, the visitors were able to double their lead in the 81st minute. Elliot Durrell picked up the ball and drove forward, eventually slotting the ball home with a low shot into the back of the net.
Chances were few and far between with a couple of stoppages due to players receiving treatment after knocks really playing its part in affecting the flow of the match. The Bees managed to get their first opportunity on goal with just over ten minutes to go until the break. Alexander McQueen whipped a free kick to the edge of the box, which Ben Richards-Everton just about got a head to, but it lacked the power to make a real impact on the visitors goal. On 41 minutes it was Luke Young who was the player to break the deadlock, blasting a wonderful effort, which was virtually unstoppable, into the back of Loach’s net, giving the Red Dragons the lead into half time.
Even after putting up a really positive second half display, the Bees were unable to make anything of it in the way of goals so it was Wrexham who took all three points.

BARNET OVER 50’S £600 raised by the Barnet WFT for Bereavement Care Harrow!
The Barnet Walking Football Team held a brilliant charity zoom quiz night hosted by Kevin Ziants with Mick Connors and Remo Beschizza. The night was hosted in aid of the amazing community work carried out by Harrow Bereavement Care who in these unprecedented times find their services sadly more in demand than ever before. Entrance by donation was backed superbly by online contributions and saw a spectacular £600 raised with all monies going directly to the charity. Some of their members joined our general knowledge quiz night, which was great fun. 20 teams listened to an introduction by Bobbi Riesel, Vice Chairman of Bereavement Care, before the battle commenced! It was exciting from the start apart from Mike Moate who started slow and then went slower!! The banter was hilarious especially by those who did not realise they had their microphone on. In the end, the quiz was won by Emma & Jon and we thank everyone who played and all those that donated as we proudly raised £600 for Bereavement Care Harrow.

ROWE
The Manager
AFTER BEING RELEASED BY CHARLTON ATHLETIC AT THE AGE OF 18 Rowe joined Ilkeston Town and then Histon, where he scored 30 goals as an 18-year-old before a serious knee injury interrupted his progress. Spells at Heybridge Swifts, Stamford, Grantham Town and Rugby Town followed before he returned to Histon. He then had stints at Needham Market, AFC Sudbury, Leiston and Canvey Island. In 2010, Rowe began working for Birmingham City in a part-time academy coaching role, which allowed him to continue to play and he joined Leamington. In 2013, following a gap in his playing career due to his coaching commitments, he rejoined former club Canvey Island. After a spell as West Ham’s assistant academy manager, he attended the Johan
Cruyff Institute in Amsterdam, where he earned a master’s degree in coaching. In the summer of 2016, Rowe was appointed assistant manager of Aldershot Town, helping manager Gary Waddock guide the Shots to two successive play-off positions. He was appointed manager of Gloucester City in November 2019 and led them to the top of the National League North table before being named manager of Chesterfield 12 months later.

Will Evans EVANS IS AN EXPERIENCED CENTRAL DEFENDER WHO BEGAN HIS CAREER AT SWINDON TOWN. After a loan move to Hereford United in 2011, he signed permanently for the club in 2012 and then joined Eastleigh a year later. Evans then moved to Aldershot in 2016, making over 70 appearances, before joining the Spireites in the summer of 2018. Evans won both the Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards at the end of the 2018/19 season. His most memorable moment in a blue shirt came against Ebbsfleet in 2019, when the Spireites came back from three goals behind to draw 3-3. Evans scored the equalising goal and a few moments later then saved a penalty to earn his side a dramatic point, after filling as keeper when Callum Burton was sent off in the dying seconds of the game.
CURTIS Weston WESTON IS AN EXPERIENCED MIDFIELDER WHO HAS PLAYED FOR A NUMBER OF CLUBS INCLUDING MILLWALL AND LEEDS UNITED. He became the youngest player to ever play in an FA Cup final, when he appeared for Millwall against English giants Manchester United at the age of just 17 years and 119 days in 2004. He signed for Gillingham in 2008, where he spent four years and made nearly 150 appearances, scoring 15 goals, before leaving to join Barnet in 2012. Weston was a Barnet player over a period of 6 years, making 213 appearances and scoring 23 goals for the Bees. Weston then made the switch back up north, signing for the Spireites in 2018. Perhaps his most memorable moment in a blue shirt was his stunning strike in the dying seconds against Wrexham in the 2019/20 season, which won the Spireites a vital three points with seconds to play. Weston won the League Two play-offs in 2009 with Gillingham and also won the Conference Premier in 2015 with Barnet.
NATHAN TYSON TYSON SIGNED ON LOAN FOR THE SPIREITES FROM NOTTS COUNTY IN JANUARY 2020 BEFORE MAKING HIS MOVE PERMANENT IN AUGUST 2020. Born in Reading, the highly experienced forward has played for a host of different clubs, including Nottingham Forest, Derby County and Wycombe Wanderers. He came through the Reading academy, making his first-team debut for the Royals in April 2000. Tyson has made over 500 Football League appearances and has also played for Scottish club Kilmarnock. He was promoted to the Championship in 2007 as part of a Nottingham Forest side who finished runners-up. Renowned for his lightning pace, Tyson has expressed his desire to play until at least the age of 40.
Tom DENTON DENTON WAS SIGNED FROM ALFRETON TOWN IN 2018. BORN IN WEST YORKSHIRE, HE SPENT HIS YOUTH CAREER AT WAKEFIELD BEFORE SIGNING FOR HUDDERSFIELD TOWN IN 2008 From 2008 to 2014, he played for several clubs before joining North Ferriby Town in July 2014. He went on to win the FA Trophy with the club, despite missing a penalty in the final at Wembley. Denton then spent two years at Halifax Town where he scored 27 goals in 74 appearances, before making the switch to Alfreton in 2018. He made less than ten appearances for the club before signing for the Spireites for an undisclosed fee. Denton uses his height to good effect, but he is also very comfortable with the ball at his feet
What’s the Buzz Josh Palmer
Wealdstone have signed former Barnet academy player Ryan Gondoh. The 23 year old joined the Bees’ academy in 2014, having previously been on a youth contract at Carshalton Athletic. He would only make two first team appearances in black and amber, in a Football League Trophy and in a Middlesex Senior Cup fixtures during the 2015/16 season. He later joined Hendon and Staines Town on loan, before a permanent transfer to Metropolitan Police. This was followed by a flurry of short stints at some local non league outfits, including Kingstonian, Carshalton and Maldon and Tiptree, before a return to the EFL with Colchester United. After a loan at FC Halifax Town, he returned to Carshalton for a third stint, then spells at Concord Rangers, Whyteleafe and Hampton and Richmond Borough.
After scoring his first goal for the Bees last week, Alex McQueen has again been called up to the Grenada national team. After making his international debut in 2017, he has to date made a total of 6 appearances for the side, however the last of these came in 2019. He is among a group of non league players to have been called up to national teams for the upcoming international break, mostly for Caribbean sides. Saint Kitts and Nevis have called up Raheem Hanley of Northern Premier League Premier Division side Radcliffe, Omar Holnes of Darlington will travel with the Jamaica squad, and former Bees Mai McKenzie Lyle, Matthew Briggs and Keanu Marsh Brown, all in the Guyana squad.
Isthmian League Premier side Margate have successfully received planning permission to redevelop their Hartsdown Park stadium. The stadium currently has a capacity of 2,100, with 400 seats, although the plans will see it expanded, with 600 seats. On top of this, a 120 bedroom hotel, club offices and shop, 104 space car park, new changing rooms, control room and restaurant and bar facilities. The ground has played host to the Gate since 1929, with the exception of a spell between 2002 and 2005, when they groundshared with various other Kent sides, a spell which saw them play in the Conference Premier.
Rated Excellent On TrustPilot
In a short period of time which has already seen their league ended because of the pandemic, and controversial chairman Glenn Tamplin, Romford have announced that they are to continue groundsharing with Barking. Barking currently play at the 2,500 capacity Mayesbrook Park, which they have called home since 1973. The Isthmian League North side have been at the stadium, located in Dagenham, since last year, having previously shared at Hornchurch’s Bridge Avenue, Ford United’s Rush Green, Collier Row’s Sungate Aveley’s Mill Field, Thurrock’s Ship Lane, East Thurrock United’s Rookery Hill, and Brentwood Town’s Brentwood Centre Arena.
This week has seen National League South side Ebbsfleet United announce the departure 8 of their first team squad. This comes after the early ending of the season for level six divisions and below. First to go was James Dobson, who ended his loan spell and returned to Dagenham and Redbridge. Greg Cundle, Jake Goodman, Reece Grant, Tom Handler, Josh Payne and Charlie Rowan were all released, as was former Bee Iffy Allen. Allen joined the Bees academy in 2010, having previously been with Fulham. Allen played just seven times for the first team, scoring his only goal in a 3-3 draw away at Lincoln City. He joined the Fleet in the summer.
Former Shrewsbury Town favourite Steve Jagielka has unfortunately passed away this week. The 43 year old midfielder was the older brother of England international defender Phil. Steve started his career at Stoke City, but did not make a single first team appearance. In the summer of 1997, he would make the move to the Shrews, where he would played 198 times in just over six years, scoring 20 times and staying with the club even after their relegation to the Conference in 2003. In 2004 he moved on to Sheffield United, alongside Phil, but again did not feature in the first team. He then spent two seasons with Accrington Stanley, winning the Conference in 2006. He then ended his career with short stints at various non league sides, including Droylsden, AFC Telford United, Hednesford and Ellesmere Rangers, retiring in 2012.

A-Z OF FORMER
Trésor Kandol KANDOL STARTED HIS CAREER AT LUTON TOWN WHERE HE WAS VOTED YOUNG PLAYER OF THE YEAR TWICE broke the record of the youngest player to play in the first team and then went to Bournemouth where he scored once in the Football League Trophy against future club Barnet Fc. He then dropped to non-league football and became a highly prolific goal scorer at Thurrock, his tally of 79 goals in 110 games got him noticed back at a higher level of football and he joined Dagenham & Redbridge in the conference where he scored 9 goals in 13 games. Kandol’s football career was really getting back on track. On the 31st on January he decided to bring his talent to North London, to Barnet FC. Kandol’s impact for Barnet saw him topping up the chart as the top scorer in FA Cup that season with 6 goals to his name, he really made a name
for himself with an extraordinary shot that beat the goalkeeper from the halfway line against Cardiff City and a header to take them out of the cup, followed by another two against Cheltenham Town. He also scored another at Elland road where he really shined. Although Kandol was in incredibly good form, whilst at Barnet in 2006, Kandol was sent to prison for 13 weeks for a series of driving offences. After scoring 18 goals from 21 games for Barnet at the start of the 2006–07 season, Kandol went up north to Championship side Leeds on a two-month loan deal on 23rd November 2006. He made his debut two days later as a substitute in the 2–1 victory over Plymouth Argyle. His full home debut came with a debut goal in front of his new fans against Barnsley. When the January 2007 transfer window opened, his move was made permanent by Dennis Wise for an initial fee of £320,000. After Leeds were relegated to the third tier of English football for the first time in their history, Kandol scored a last-minute winner against Tranmere Rovers in the opening game of the 2007–08 season. He formed a successful strike partnership with Jermaine Beckford in the first half of the season, winning him player of the August and September month award but loss of form and the arrival of Dougie Freedman meant Kandol lost his place in the starting eleven despite scoring 15 goals, as Leeds went on to reach the League One playoffs. He came on in their 1-0 loss to Doncaster Rovers. Leeds signed forwards Luciano Becchio and Enoch Showunmi during the 2008 close season, and Kandol was allowed to join Millwall on loan until January 2009. He opened the scoring just 13 seconds into his “Lions” debut, in a 4-3 loss to. During his time at The Den, he became the top scorer at the club and helped Millwall to rise to 2nd in the League. After his loan expired, he went straight back out on loan again, joining Championship side Charlton Athletic on 30th January 2009 until the end of the season. His first and only goals for the club came in against Watford and after a successful loan spell at a struggling club, Charlton made an offer of £400,000 for Kandol’s services the next season but were turned down due to his transformation in form gathering the attention of Leeds manager Simon Grayson who now wanted to include him in his club’s plans. Before the 2009–10 season, Kandol was told he had no future at Leeds, but after playing well for the reserve team – he scored a hat trick in a 6–1 defeat against Scunthorpe United reserves – and when given an opportunity in the Football League Trophy, he returned to the league team in place of the injured Becchio against Norwich City on 19 October.
Two weeks later, he came on as a late substitute to score the last of Leeds’s four goals against Yeovil but was charged with violent conduct in an incident after the final whistle and received a three-match ban. He scored against Bristol Rovers, Kettering, and Darlington, all by coming off the bench, but still did not seem enough for the manager. Maybe he had disciplinary problems? His season was interrupted by injury, and he rarely appeared off the bench afterwards, until what proved his last game for the club, a 1–0 defeat at Norwich City. Only 20 seconds after entering the game as a late substitute, he took hold of opponent Daren Russell by the throat, was sent off and received a four-match ban. Kandol was initially made available on a free transfer after several meetings with Leeds boardroom staff he decided the time was right for him to look for new challenge. On the 4th August 2010, the decision was made by Kandol and his representatives to leave the club by mutual consent. After becoming a free agent and able to sign for a club outside the transfer window on 5 September Kandol signed for Spanish team Albacete. However, his spell in Spain was short lived because of injuries and he left the club by mutual consent in November 2010 after the club President described him as great lad with superb sense of humour. In August 2011, Kandol held talks with League 2 side Plymouth about joining the club. However, after seemingly agreeing terms on a one-year contract he failed to turn up to training as arranged on 4 August and a scheduled press conference. As of 5 August 2011, Plymouth Argyle manager Peter Reid was unsure of Kandol’s whereabouts and whether the deal will be signed. In interview, Reid was understandably frustrated and stated that the club had sent a car to the railway station to collect Kandol, but he did not turn up. In October 2012, Kandol signed for Hampton and Richmond Borough buy Kandol was released on 30th November when they said they could no longer afford Kandol’s wages. Overall Kandol had a lot of potential but never lived up to it. It is safe to say that his disciplinary problems did not help which I would have thought would have been sparked by him performing well off the bench at Leeds but never really getting that deserved chance. Nowadays Tresor owns two businesses Future Pro Academy and ChatboxParis.

Match Report 2 STOCKPORT COUNTY FC
THE BEES RAN PROMOTION CHASING STOCKPORT COUNTY TO THE WIRE BUT LEFT EDGELEY PARK EMPTY HANDED FOLLOWING A LATE HATTERS WINNER.
HOW IT HAPPENED On a chilly evening in the North-West, there were chances for either side in the opening three minutes, as first Alex Reid fired an effort wide for the Hatters, before Courtney BakerRichardson struck wide of goal for the Bees. The hosts came within inches of taking the lead of five minutes, as Harry Cardwell’s flicked headers struck the inside of Aymen Azaze’s upright. On nine minutes the hosts did take the lead, as Liam Hogan tapped home from three yards out after Azaze had made an incredible stop from a powerful header at point blank range.
1 BARNET FC
flashed an effort into the gloves of Azaze. Stockport had new man Paddy Madden on the pitch after a first half substitution and he would have been immediately on the scoresheet, but for a brave block from Ben RichardsEverton. Azaze made a big stop with five minutes left of the half, as Reid twisted in the area before unleashing a stinging effort which the 19-year-old was equal to. The Bees started the second half brightly and almost equalised through Alex McQueen as he saw his powerful free-kick parried away by Hinchliffe. The hosts should have doubled their lead through Madden as he headed wide with the goal gaping, after a free-flowing Stockport move. But it would be the Bees who would level as McQueen brought down a ball in the box before calmly slotting under Hinchliffe. Fairclough’s side continued to threaten on the counter and could have led when Petrasso got to the byeline only to see his cutback hacked clear. Meanwhile, Azaze continued to be a rock as he stopped Newby’s low effort. It would be the promotion-chasing hosts who would take the lead with seven minutes left on the watch, as substitute Jack Stretton squeezed an effort home.
The Bees responded well to falling behind and could have been level but Ben Hinchliffe in the Stockport goal, as he did well to hold Ephron Mason-Clark’s powerful effort.
The Bees chucked everything at it but couldn’t snatch what would have been a dramatic equaliser in the dying moments. However, they can take plenty of heart from another gutsy and determined performance.
Paul Fairclough’s side had another good chance to go level on 25 minutes, as Michael Petrasso found an amazing pass to Baker-Richardson, who couldn’t quite get it under his spell when through on goal.
Barnet FC Team:
Baker-Richardson was at it again minutes later, as he headed Lee Vaughan’s dangerous cross just over the crossbar. Meanwhile, County looked threatening as Alex Newby

Match Report 2 BROMLEY FC
2 BARNET FC
IN A DRAMATIC GAME WHICH SAW TWO PENALTIES
In what had already been an eventful opening 35 minutes, the Ravens manager, Neil Smith, was then sent off.
TWO PLAYERS SENT OFF AND FOUR GOALS, THE BEES WERE ABLE TO COME BACK TWICE TO SECURE A HARD FOUGHT 2-2 DRAW AWAY TO BROMLEY.
The second half started with Bromley having most of the ball, but still unable to fashion a meaningful chance.
HOW IT HAPPENED It was a bright start from the Bees and they managed to get the first chance of the game after three minutes when Michael Petrasso played in Ephron Mason-Clark, who dragged his shot just wide. This positive start though was dented after eight minutes, as Liam Trotter gave his side the lead after Scott Loach had initially parried away a chance from the league’s top goal scorer Michael Cheek. However, this lead only lasted five minutes, with Bromley being reduced to ten men after Joe Kizzi was sent off for pulling back Courtney Baker-Richardson in the box, who managed to convert the resulting penalty to draw the game level. The Bees were dealt a blow before the 20-minute mark when Loach was forced off after falling awkwardly on his shoulder, being replaced by Aymen Azaze. Despite this, the Bees were still playing some really good football, moving the ball around well and looking to exploit their man advantage, including Mason-Clark, who had a shot hit the side-netting.
The home side hadn’t really threatened much in the half and a lot of this was down to the Bees themselves who were compact in defence, not allowing too much to pressure their goal.
But with 15 minutes played in the half, the hosts were allowed to retake their lead when Liam Daly handled the ball in the box and Cheek converted the penalty from the spot. Nevertheless, Bromley’s lead just like in the first half didn’t last long. In fact, it was from the restart that Mason-Clark was able to get a cross into the box to set up Petrasso, who was in bundles of space and able to smash home to bring the game level again. It was from here that the Bees really started to mount the pressure as they sensed they may be able to get a winner. With less than ten to go, however, the Bees too had a man sent off when captain James Dunne was given his marching orders. This though didn’t stop the Bees momentum as they looked the most likely to get the three points, including Petrasso being inches away from finding that all-important goal, with his shot just going the wrong side of the post. The sides played out the remaining minutes of additional time, with neither side able to create a winner, meaning in the end the points were shared and the Bees gained an impressive point on the road.
