WRITES
Darren Currie
Good evening everyone and welcome to The Hive for this evening’s match with Boreham Wood. I would like to extend that welcome to the players, staff and supporters of our visitors who have made the short trip this evening. Look there’s no way to get around how frustrated I was with the performance on Saturday and I feel the minimum we owe you is maximum effort this evening. It was a really disappointing afternoon, but we have to move past it and now turn all our focus on making sure we are in those play-off places come April. In my opinion there’s no better way to return to action than a local derby against a play-off rival, it has all the makings of a really good match. I’m under no illusions that tonight will be a really tough test this evening. Boreham Wood are a good side, who like ourselves have been in really good form in the last couple of months. Both sides were really evenly matched in the match at their place and I’m sure tonight will be another tight
encounter. The pitch is of course going to play a factor, but we are not using that as an excuse, we have to make sure we do everything we can to get an important three points. I’m sure it’ll be a really good atmosphere under the lights tonight and I urge you to get right behind us. We have eight home games remaining and we are all responsible to make this place a fortress. The home form is going to pivotal if we are going to achieve our ambitions for this season, I can promise you that myself and the boys will give absolutely everything to make you happy.
Enjoy the match

BOREHAM WOOD FOOTBALL CLUB
OPPOSITION
History Boreham Wood Football Club celebrated its 70th Anniversary at the end of the 2017/18 season, having been formed in 1948 following the amalgamation of Boreham Rovers and Royal Retournez. The anniversary was celebrated in spectacular style with an appearance at Wembley and also beating a Football League club for the first time ever in the FA Cup The club gradually progressed through the Mid-Herts, Parthenon, Spartan and Athenian Leagues. Under the Chairmanship of local man Bill O’Neill and the management of fellow local man Mickey Hunter, the club moved forward by winning back to back promotions at Athenian League level, before being elected to the Isthmian Football League in 1974/75, under the management of another local man Micky Lennon. In 1976/77 the club won the Isthmian League Division Two Championship by sixteen points and then had a fiveseason spell in the Premier Division

during the late seventies and early eighties. It then enjoyed another much more successful spell in the Premier Division during the nineties under the Chairmanship of Phil Wallace and the managerial expertise of Bob Makin. That ended in relegation at the end of the 1999/2000 season under the then new Chairman Danny Hunter who remains the Chairman to this day. However, the club did bounce back immediately from that disappointment and once again gained promotion to the Isthmian League Premier Division, as Isthmian League Division One Champions in 2000/01. Following the Football Association restructuring of non-league football in 2004, Boreham Wood competed for the first time in the Southern Football League, playing in Division One East for two seasons. Winning the championship in 2005/06 the club was promoted again and returned to the Isthmian League Premier Division for the 2006/07 season. Alongside the championship success in the 2005/06 season the club went on an incredible run in the FA Trophy, reaching the Semi-Finals.

THE HISTORY
us holding Football League One side Carlisle United to a 0-0 draw at Meadow Park. The replay ended in heartbreak, though, as we led 1-0, only to miss a penalty before two late goals saw us bow out of the competition 2-1. In 2013, we got the go ahead to build a brand new 870-seater West Stand. The project was finally completed in May 2014 at a cost of around three quarters of a million pounds. The stand was officially opened by Mr Arsene Wenger in front of a bumper crowd of 3,400, in a specially arranged friendly against an Arsenal First Team on Saturday 19th July 2014. The 2014/15 season was, at the time, the most successful in Boreham Wood Football Club’s history. After leading the Conference South for the majority of the season, a controversial defeat at eventual League Champions Bromley cost us the title and so we took our place in the end of season Play-Offs.
At present the Wood are still the lowest ranked team to have reached the last four of that prestigious tournament. The 2009/10 season was also a highly memorable one for the club, as it saw us finish 4th in our Isthmian League Premier Division campaign and take part in a League Play-Off for the very first time. After defeating Aveley 1-0 away in the Semi-Final, the club went on to beat Kingstonian 2-0 at home in the Final and, under the shrewd management of Ian Allinson, we deservedly took our place in the Football Conference South.
After playing magnificently to beat Havant & Waterlooville 2-0 away from home, and then drawing 2-2 at home in a two-legged Semi-Final, we faced the then big spending and strongly fancied Whitehawk Football Club at Meadow Park in front of a partisan 2,200 crowd. A Lee Angol set piece put us ahead early in the second half before a late Whitehawk penalty levelled proceedings. However, a Junior Morias goal in the first minute of extra time proved to be the winner and sent the club into raptures and the town into delirium. Who could believe it, little Boreham Wood with the lowest average attendance in the league had deservedly achieved promotion to the top tier of Non-League football for the very first time in our then 67-year history!
A poor start to our inaugural 2010/11 Conference South league campaign saw us initially struggle to compete at that level and we sat bottom of the table around the Christmas period. However, with clear leadership and further investment from our experienced Chairman, our manager Ian Allinson, our dressing room and our supporters all came together. We rallied and recovered well to finish in a very respectable 14th place. The 2011/12 season saw us build on our efforts from the first campaign and we achieved an excellent 8th place. The following season, 2012/13, saw the club start very well, only to finish poorly and from occupying a solid Play-Off place in early March finished in a disappointing 9th place. However, the undoubted story of that season, was our glorious FA Cup run and First Round proper appearance that ended in a 2-0 defeat against a very good Brentford side at Meadow Park.
The 2015/16 season was undoubtedly a historic season for the Wood with us competing at the top table of non-league football for the very first time in the newly named National League. It was, though, no fairy-tale opening season at that level against much stronger opposition. In fact, it proved a very difficult one just to survive and, apart from our opening day 3-1 win against Halifax, and the odd big win against the likes of Tranmere Rovers, we struggled to compete with the bigger clubs.
The 2013/14 season ended in cup success, with a Herts Senior Cup triumph defeating local rivals Bishops Stortford on penalties in the final. Another poor start in our league campaign, however, meant the club had a long relegation battle on its hands for the majority of the season but a strong finish saw us end up in 13th place. Another cup run saw us again reach the First Round proper of the FA Cup, and that culminated in
By the October we had lost our very successful longstanding manager Ian Allinson to his increased work commitments. We had replaced him with Allinson’s experienced, but young, assistant manager Luke Garrard who was just 30-years of age and we continued to struggle and adjust to football at that level and faced a

relegation battle that took us to the very last game of the season.
The Chairman Danny Hunter can proudly claim that he has overseen our rise through both the Ryman Leagues, the Conference South and into the National League where, in our fourth season, we are regarded as an established club at that level, the pinnacle of non-league football.
The final three league games of the campaign will long live in the memory as it saw us beat Aldershot away 2-1, Guiseley at home 1-0 and then Welling United 3-0 away. That end of season turnaround finally secured our place in the National League Premier and sent our Chairman, Manager, staff, dressing room and supporters into raptures.
During our Chairman’s tenure, he has continued to invest or raise over £14 million, to greatly modernise our current infrastructure, our player recruitment, our ground and facility, which has improved the football club hugely and enhanced every fan’s matchday experience when they visit our Meadow Park home.
The following season, 2016/17, saw the club improve further, with an 11th place National League finish but the best was still to come one year later.
In 2017 he secured further investment of £1.8 million building a new training facility, laying a new DESSO pitch of Premier League quality, installing new floodlights and dugouts.
During that 2017/18 season the club finally realised two ambitions, the first of which was to beat a Football League club in the FA Cup. That happened on Saturday, November 4 2017 with a 2-1 victory over famous FA Cup winners Blackpool. Going a goal down with under half an hour left did not suggest that history was about to be made but an equaliser from Blair Turgott paved the way for Dan Holman to secure his place in the club’s history books with a very late winner.
THE HISTORY
That would have been the highlight of a normal season, but 2017/18 was anything but that for Boreham Wood FC as a great run of league form ended with an amazing 4th place finish in the National League. That meant yet another appearance in the Play-Offs and this time in the new format where six clubs were involved. In the eliminator round we beat AFC Fylde 2-1 in a hard-fought game but suffered a series of nightmare injuries, losing three key players before and during the game and putting them out of the remaining Play-Off matches. We then faced Sutton United away just three days later, without those three key players but a stunning performance led to a 3-2 win against the odds. When the nerve wracking period of injury time ended, those present celebrated the impossible dream – Boreham Wood were going to play at Wembley Stadium! The second lifetime ambition of many at the club was to be realised in the same dramatic season as the first. A place in the Football League was at stake but it was not to be, losing 2-1 to Tranmere Rovers but the memory of the day, the walk down Wembley Way and seeing over 4,000 fans supporting the club will last forever in the memory of everyone connected with the club.

Nathan’s senior career started out at Havant and Waterlooville and made his first team debut in 2008 following a youth career with Portsmouth. In 2011, Nathan had a loan spell at Gosport Borough, and after some impressive performances the move was made permanent.

NATHAN ASHMORE
BOREHAM WOOD FC TEAM
In his 5 years at Gosport, Nathan helped them gain successive promotions to the National League South, as well as a trip to Wembley in the FA Trophy Final. Ashmore was then snapped up by Ebbsfleet helping them gain promotion to the National League. Since then Nathan has amassed over 170 appearances for the Fleet and has won the Player of the Season award for the past two years.
Boreham Wood secured the return of Femi Ilesanmi, in June 2018. The left-back originally featured for the Wood in the 2016/17 campaign, where he started all but three matches under Luke Garrard and he only missed four matches last season. The attack-minded defender began his career in the academy of AFC Wimbledon, before being snapped up by Queens Park Rangers. He departed Loftus Road without making a senior appearance and went on to sign for Dagenham & Redbridge, via Ashford Town Middlesex. While with the Daggers, Femi featured over 100 times, across a four-year stay at Victoria Road, before departing for League Two outfit York City. Ilesanmi would go on to make a further 70 appearances for York City, before he began the first of his spells at Meadow Park.
In October 2019, a deal was completed between the Wood and Ebbsfleet that saw Nathan come to Meadow Park for the remainder of the 2019/20 season on a season long loan.
After a single season with the Wood, which included an unsuccessful play-off push and taking Football League Notts County to an FA Cup replay, Femi joined Dover Athletic. However during Femi’s absence Wood reached the Vanarama National League play-offs in 2017/18, losing narrowly to Tranmere Rovers in the final. Wood’s progress persuaded Ilesanmi to return to Meadow Park during the summer of 2018, signing a one-year contract with a one-year option.

He would enjoy a loan spell with MK Dons before signing for Ebbsfleet United in the Conference National in 2006. After 94 appearances at Stonebridge Road, including winning the FA Trophy at Wembley Stadium, the midfielder moved on to join Woking in the Summer of 2009. In 2010, Ricketts was made captain of the Woking, quickly becoming a cult hero at the Kingfield Stadium. The midfielder was an instrumental member of the Woking side that won promotion from the Conference South in 2011/12 and then secured their place in the top-tier of Non-League football with a top 10 finish. After 244 appearances at Woking, the midfielder joined Boreham Wood in June 2016. Prior to the opening game of the 2016/17 season, it was announced that Mark would become the Club’s captain.

Explosive forward ‘Kabs’ joined the Wood from National League South side Oxford City where he thumped in a very impressive 37 goals in all competitions during 2018/19 season. The red-hot marksman concluded the campaign by being awarded Manager’s Player, Player’s Player and Fan’s Player of the Year awards. Tshimanga started his career at MK Dons making his full debut in November 2014 before going on to sign his first professional contract just two months later. Last season ‘Kabby’ burst onto the main stage of the Emirates FA Cup when scoring a stunning hat-trick away at Tranmere Rovers back in November 2018 catching the eye of many.

HE WENT ON TO MAKE 17 APPEARANCES FOR THE ROBINS BEFORE BRIEF SPELLS AT BISHOP’S STORTFORD, BOREHAM WOOD AND NORTHWOOD. LUKE LATER JOINED AFC WIMBLEDON IN MARCH 2006. A cult hero with Wimbledon’s fans, he made over 100 appearances for the club, mainly as a right-back but also occasionally in the centre of midfield. In November 2008, Garrard tore his cruciate ligament during training which kept him out for the rest of that season. From the start of the 2009-10 season, he made only occasional appearances for the Wombles, which saw him re-join the Wood in January 2010. Luke couples his role as First Team Manager at Meadow Park with his role as the Academy Manager. The 31-year-old was originally an Academy Coach at the Club in 2008, before being promoted to Academy Director in 2012. Luke was the appointed Ian Allinson’s Assistant in 2013, a position he held for two-and-ahalf-years. Upon Ian’s Departure in October 2015, Luke was appointed as First Team Manager, becoming the youngest boss in all of England’s top five division’s. His first game in charge a 1-1 draw away with Guiseley. Luke would steer the Wood away from the relegation zone in the club’s inaugural season in the National League. The side clinched survival on the last game of the season away to already relegated Welling United with a comprehensive 3-0 victory. Luke’s stock has further risen in the following seasons, having taken the Wood to Wembley for the first time in their history back in 2017/18. The side achieved their highest ever National League finish, and reached the play-off Final against Tranmere Rovers, narrowly losing 2-1. Garrard maintained the Wood’s National League status in the 2018/19 season, finishing 8 points above the relegation zone in 20th. 22

Moving to Glasgow Rangers in December 1986, he helped win the Scottish League title, then skippered Chelsea to the Second Division title in 1988-89. He had spells with West Brom, Enfield, Slough and Stevenage, then managed Yeovil Town, Chesham United, Hertford, Boreham Wood from February 2001 until July 2001, Carshalton Athletic, Braintree, Clyde, Pakistan and Nepal.

Boreham Wood swept to the Isthmian League First Division title in 1994-95. Bob Makin’s side won 31 of their 42 Isthmian League games, hammering Wivenhoe 5-1 and slamming four goals past Abingdon, Basingstoke, Dorking, Leyton, Maidenhead and Whyteleafe at Meadow Park. Boreham Wood gained 98 points and lost just one of their home games, with runners-up Worthing completing the ‘double’ over them but finishing 22 points behind. Marc Liburd netted twice as they beat Kettering 2-1 in the FA Trophy second round. Dominic Gentle was leading scorer, while other stars included captain Barry Fox, goalkeeper Martin Taylor and Dave Hatchett.
Boreham Wood won the Isthmian League Premier Division play-off final in 200910. They won 20 of their 42 Isthmian League games and had a better defensive record than runaway champions Dartford, gaining 68 points to finish fourth in the table. The Wood won 2-1 at Dartford and 1-0 at runners-up Sutton United. They beat third-placed Aveley 1-0 in the playoff semi-final, then defeated Kingstonian 2-0 in the final to win promotion to the Conference South for the first time in the club’s history. They lost 3-1 at eventual finalists Wealdstone in the Isthmian League Cup second round and were defeated 2-1 at AFC Wimbledon in the FA Trophy first round.

Leon Archer was leading marksman as Boreham Wood were top scorers in the First Division (East) with 84 goals. They lost just six of their 42 matches and were promoted to the Isthmian League Premier Division. The Wood also reached the FA Trophy semi-finals for the first time in their history, beating Ilford 1-0, Bromley 4-1, Stamford 3-1, Leighton Town 1-0, Gravesend & Northfleet 3-1, Crawley Town 2-0 and Worksop Town 1-0 before losing 3-0 on aggregate to Woking.
Boreham Wood won the Conference South play-off final in 2014-15. The new West Stand was officially opened with a pre-season friendly against Arsenal watched by a record 3,400 crowd. Ian Allinson’s side led the table for the majority of the season but eventually finished runners-up, two points behind champions Bromley, to reach the playoffs. Both clubs won 23 of their 40 Conference South games. The Wood beat Havant & Waterlooville 4-2 on aggregate in the play-off semi-final, then goals by top scorer Lee Angol and Junior Morias secured their 2-1 victory over Whitehawk after extra-time in the final to earn promotion to the renamed National League.

One feature about the Conference is the traditional local derby on a Christmas Holiday. So it is with this in mind that the strains of “we are the Wood “will probably heard today. I was sent for supply teacher duty at St Theresa’s School on a couple of occasions, and given the task of offering free tickets to the children for a forthcoming game. Enquiring how many regulars were in the class, I asked how many pupils were familiar with that tune. Not sure if either Jayne Paige or Cheri Misson know the lyrics, but both are former Woodcroft stars who now live in the town.
Our Trophy correspondent Joe Gibney made his first visit to the Hive for the Weymouth match, which he enjoyed. Coincidentally we were both online the following Monday when our next opponents were revealed as Farsley or Altrincham. Ah with the benefit of hindsight, and indeed penalties this Visited the former in the nineties, when Rochdale’s ground was unplayable. One Barnet fan has admitted to being so badly the worse for drink that day that he reckoned the game had been drawn. I couldn’t possibly comment. However I do remember a Farsley fan dryly commenting “see you next week” as we left the Throstle Nest and purchasing a warm hat. Can’t find the chapeau, and it is cold and wet, so no carol singing for me this morning, I have advised Mr G that Celtic play in the constituency of Pudsey, named after a yellow one eyed bear of course.
Past meetings Perhaps there are people here today who attended the first competitive meeting between Boreham Wood and the Bees in 1973. A 4-1 home victory was registered, Les Eason netting twice, but mysteriously the second leg of the Studio Cup was never played. I say competitive, as I’m sure there have been plenty of friendlies, including the most recent time that I saw Mr Jason Edwards, who now has his own painting and decorating company in Stevenage. Perhaps Christopher Emery will engage him, as he is so very fond of that town, or even Lewis Hamilton, now he has progressed from his lowly beginnings .Lewis apparently “misspoke “as seen by his gracious apology a year ago, but congratulations BBC Sporting Personality of the Year Ben stokes, who was not only a valuable contributor to the World cup triumph, but his saving of the Headingly test with Leach had no less an authority than Aggers praising the greatest Test innings by an English player. The audacity of some of the strokes were breath-taking. .There have been several Hertfordshire Senior Cup clashes, most recently in 2004, when Tony Taggart scored twice in the semi Final, but we lost 3-2 in injury time. Four years previously, in the same competition, we triumphed 4-3, with both Wayne Purser and Danny Brown scoring twice, I also saw Enfield play at the ground, when they were nomadic. David McDonald descended theatrically, trying to buy a penalty, then grinned impishly when questioned of his deception.
Non-League Show Undoubtedly the FA Trophy will have been mentioned somehow on this programme. Caroline Barker has been promoted in the 5Live schedules, but the Show on which she achieved fame still exists as a Podcast. Until a few years ago I only had a vague idea as to the meaning of this word , but as I love Radio and no longer possess a television I can claim to have listened to a few of these Podcast thingies by now , so seek and ye shall find.

Come on Home
As well as Mr Stokes, another Ben help present me with a different sporting highlight of the year. Ben Davies was educated at Ysgol Gyfun Ystalyfera, and hails from Seven Sisters, albeit a different place to the one on the Victoria Line. He helped Wales achieve only their second Euro Finals qualification, when earlier results had made that eventuality unlikely to say the least. In Ryan we trust.
Recently I downloaded an Advent chart of tunes that failed to make the Top Ten. At Number 17, and the only tune to mention Christmas Day was Come on Home. Everything But the Girl had bigger hits, notably missing, but this was my favourite by Ben Watt. Perhaps the Barnet fan will read this, so a Happy New Year to him and Tracy.

The Vanarama National League have announced the confirmed dates for the playoffs. For the third consecutive season, the playoffs will be contested by six clubs, rather than the traditional four, with all fixtures being one leg. With the club finishing top automatically being promoted to League 2, the second and third places teams would be exempt until the semi finals. Wednesday 29th April sees the 5th placed team take on the 6th placed team at home, whilst the following evening sees the 4th placed team host 7th placed, with both games kicking off at 7pm. Saturday 2nd May sees the runner up of the division host the winner of the 5th vs 6th quarter final at 3pm, before the 3rd placed team of the 4th vs 7th game. The final will take place at Wembley on Sunday 10th May. The winner will gain a place in League 2, whilst the highest two clubs not to have been promoted will enter the Scottish Challenge Cup, as per the past two seasons. A similar format will be played for the North and South Divisions, with the final taking place at one of the clubs’ home stadiums.
Tilbury, of the BetVictor Isthmian League North Division, the eight tier of English football, have recently submitted a planning application for a new £5 million stadium. The Dockers, who are currently third in the division, eleven points off of the top spot, plan to fund the new project with the building of 112 new homes on the land adjacent to the new stadium, which is itself just a short distance from their current Chadfields stadium. The new stadium will have an all weather pitch as well as space for 4,000 spectators. It will also house a gym, sports hall, a car park and a clubhouse.

Woking have signed former Premier League winger Matt Jarvis. The 33 year old, who played top flight football as recently as 2016, was released by Norwich City at the end of last season, after having spent several months out on loan at League 1 side Walsall. Starting out his career at Gillingham, where he made over 120 appearances, the former England international signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2007. He would play over 175 times for the West Midlands side, 108 of which were in the top flight. Upon the sides’ relegation to the Championship in 2012, he immediately returned to the Premier League, signing for West Ham United, playing on 90 occasions before singing for Norwich, being relegated from the top flight for a second time in 2016. He made his debut on Saturday against Maidenhead United, where he came on as a substitute, replacing former Bee Dave Tarpey on the 58th minute, before going on to scoring the opening goal four minutes later, with former Bee Jake Hyde scoring the other goal to give the Cards a 2-0 win.
Controversial chairman Glenn Tamplin has claimed that his new club Romford are already a bigger club than his former side Billericay Town. Despite having picked up four wins from their last four games, the side still sit bottom of the BetVictor Isthmian League Table, now being level on points with the club just outside the relegation zone, behind only on goal difference. “This is already bigger than Billericay, it’s already got a different bond and feel to Billericay” said the 48 year old multi-millionaire. “I loved my time at Billericay and I loved 99.9 per cent of the fans, but I love 100 per cent about everyone and everything at Romford, that’s the difference”.
Former Barnet player and Guyana international Keanu Marsh Brown has found himself another club, his fourth since leaving the Hive in June 2015. Signing from Yeovil Town in March 2013, he played in the last game at Underhill, and would score 15 times in the 58 games that he played for the club. He then transferred to Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed fee, and would score for the club at Wembley in the 2016 National League playoff final, which his side would go on to lose 3-1. He would play at Wembley again the following season in the same game, this time winning it. After a loan away at Dover Athletic, he signed for Newport County. Despite having represented England at Under 16, Under 17 and C levels, played several games for the Guyana national team since being called up last year. He now signs for Memphis 901, currently playing in the USL Championship, the second tier of football in the USA.

possession well as they looked for an important second goal.
The opening 15 minutes was a cagey affair with neither side testing the opposing keeper. Cheye Alexander created the best opening but nobody could get on the end of his cross.
The Yeltz first opening came with nine minutes left as Ali headed wide from eight yards out, after a good delivery from the left-hand side.
Dan Sweeney sent in a powerful drive towards goal, only to see his effort well blocked by Josh Hawker. Josh Walker was next to go close as he poked an effort into the gloves of Bunn at the near post. Up the other end, Ricardo Santos made a goal-saving tackle just as Montel Gibson was going to fire towards goal. Both sides continued to come forward in the driving London rain, but with conditions playing a factor, chances were at a premium at The Hive. The best chance of the half fell to Simeon Akinola as the ball fell to him six yards from goal, but he couldn’t generate any sort of power to trouble Bunn. In tricky conditions, the sides went in level at the break with neither side able to make that elusive breakthrough.
With five minutes left of normal time remaining the visitors did equalise as Yates bundled home to level the scores. With just two minutes left Santos made a crucial challenge to deflect Cobourne’s effort from six yards out. The visitors sensing blood as the match approached added time. There was late drama as it appeared that Halesowen had been awarded a 95th penalty, but on consultation with his linesman, a free-kick was awarded. The freekick came to nothing and we entered extra time. The opening period of extra time was one of few chances, the best opening fell to Callum Reynolds as he saw a powerful header deflected behind for a corner. The Bees dominated the first period of extra time but couldn’t breakdown a resolute Yeltz side.
Into the second half and the first opening fell the way of David Tutonda, but he slipped and fired his effort wide of the near post.
The first chance of the second period of extra-time fell to Medy Elito as he connected with Tutonda’s cutback, but his effort was well saved by Bunn.
The Bees started the half the better as they looked to get on the front foot and gain the advantage over their lower league opponents. Alexander tried his luck 10 minutes into the second half but his drive from the edge of the area was well held by Bunn in the visitor’s goal.
But the Bees pressure was undone by a set-piece, as Cobourne ghosted in and tapped home from a yard out, after an initial header cannoned off the crossbar.
With an hour on the clock Walker brilliantly cut inside his man, but his curling effort flew wide of the far post. It was Walker involved again as he skipped past his man but fired wide at the near post. The mounting pressure from the Bees finally told as Josh Walker bundled home from Simeon Akinola’s cutback. It was a goal that was very much deserved following a bright start to the second half. The Yeltz looked to find an equaliser and despite plenty of endeavor, they couldn’t create a clear cut opening against a strong defensive Bees unit. The Bees continued to dictate the tempo of the match as it entered the final 10 minutes and kept
The goal knocked the stuffing out of Currie’s side and we couldn’t create the opening to send the match to spot-kicks.
