WRITES
Darren Currie
Good afternoon everyone and welcome to The Hive London for this afternoon’s league clash with Hartlepool United. It’s another massive game on home soil and it’s one I’m very much looking forward to. I just want to extend my welcome to all our visitors from the North-East and I wish them all a safe trip home after the match. It’s great to have a new centre forward in and to welcome Paul McCallum to the club. Its great for everyone involved to have a name in the building and I am sure he has the potential to be massive for our team. He adds to what I already have and with Simeon and Josh, I know we now have the capability to score plenty of goals. Onto today and we have the chance to carry on this unbeaten run we have going. We are playing well and with plenty of confidence so I’m expecting the boys to carry on in the same fashion. Despite the result I was disappointed with our performance against Farsley Celtic, I know we are capable of better! However, it’s great to be in the next
round and we look forward to that cup tie next weekend. Thanks to those of you who braved the cold to cheer us on and Tuesday, I appreciate your support as always. Things look really exciting now we have a new man in and we are well-positioned to attack the play-off places.
So get behind us, let’s stick together and see what we can achieve together. Thanks for your support,
#LetsBeeTogether

History Hartlepools United Football Athletic Company was formed on 1st June 1908 and they began playing at the Victoria Ground under the name Hartlepools United, representing the two boroughs of the town. The first game was friendly held against a Newcastle United XI at The Vic in September 1908 and Pools ran out 6-0 winners. In November 2016 a German Zeppelin bomber on a mission to Teesside’s industrial area jettisoned its load on to the Victoria Ground, destroying the Main Stand. A replacement stand was built – which would then remain until the 1980s. The Club joined the Football League in 1921 having successfully won a case for election to the new Northern Section based on them successfully finishing in the top half of the North Eastern League. It was the 1940s by the time Pools started to gain some real stability in the League and under the guidance of popular boss Fred Westgarth they 11

came close to winning promotion to the Second Division and also enjoyed some success in the cups. In the early 50s Pools played some high profile FA Cup games against Burnley and Chelsea, pushing the giants all the way but unfortunately losing 1-0 in both ties in front of huge crowds. Perhaps the most famous game in the Club’s history arrived in 1957 when Manchester United’s Busby Babes came to town for what turned out to be an epic FA Cup tie. Pools raced in to an unlikely 3-1 lead against the top flight outfit but the Red Devils came back to win 4-3 in what Sir Matt Busby later described as “the most exciting match I’ve ever watched”. In October 1965 a certain Brian Clough began his managerial career when he arrived as the new man in charge at The Vic after injury had ended his playing career. Taking over from Westgarth, Clough moulded together a powerful side and went on to lay the foundations for the Club’s first-ever promotion in 1967/68. Most of the 1970s were played out to the backdrop of financial troubles though there were still some memorable cup ties, including a trip to Ipswich Town in the Fourth Round of the FA Cup.

After relegation to League Two the following season, Danny Wilson was installed as boss and led the Club back to League One at the first time of asking – breaking numerous records on the way to the runnersup spot in 2006/07. After spending several seasons in League One, Pools were relegated again in 2012/13 and have spent several years battling in the bottom half of League Two before succumbing to a devastating last-day relegation at the end of 2016/17. The Club’s first season in the National League provided yet more drama of the unwanted kind as financial worries threatened its very existence and Pools fans – as well as those from other clubs around the country – rallied together to help save it.
In 1977/78 the Club dropped the ‘S’ from their name and went to Hartlepool United for the new season. Pools came to the rescue of local rivals in Middlesbrough in 1985 when the Teessiders were faced with extinction and were locked out of their Ayresome Park home. Billy Horner organised for Boro to play their game against Port Vale immediately after Pools’ own game against Cardiff City at The Vic.
In April 2018, Raj Singh and Jeff Stelling completed a takeover of the Club which saw Singh become the new Chairman with immediate effect and he went on to appoint Matthew Bates as the new permanent Manager after he helped steer the team away from relegation trouble. The start of the 2018/19 campaign was strong enough and Pools put together an unbeaten run to carry themselves in to the play-off positions during the opening months.
In 1989 Cyril Knowles was appointed manager and completed his first task in ensuring Pools escaped relegation before going about putting together a squad which could challenge at the other end of the table. Sadly, illness would mean Cyril wouldn’t be around to see his work come to full fruition but Alan Murray stepped up to lead the team to a second promotion in 1990/91 though the former manager’s role in the success was recognised with the naming of the Cyril Knowles Stand.
However, a run of six straight defeats in the National League heaped pressure on Matthew Bates and a decision was taken that he should leave the Club in late November 2018. Director of Football, Craig Hignett was placed in temporary charge of First Team affairs as a result.
More financial problems soon kicked-in and local businessman Harold Hornsey is credited with saving the Club after stepping in with a rescue package in 1995. He stabilised the Club and then found responsible new owners in the shape of Increased Oil Recovery in 1997. Under IOR the Club flourished, qualifying for the play-offs three seasons in a row before finally winning promotion from the bottom tier again as runners-up in 2002/03.
In December, the Board made the decision to appoint Richard Money as the new Manager of the Club and he won his first game in charge with an FA Trophy triumph at Leamington.
Success kept on coming and Pools were beaten playoff semi-finalists in 2003/04 in League One before reaching the League One Play-Off Final in 2004/05, playing against Sheffield Wednesday in front of a crowd of 59,808. In an epic Final at The Millennium Stadium, Pools were leading 2-1 with seven minutes remaining before a controversial penalty award and red card turned the game on its head and The Owls levelled and then won the game in extra time.
In October 2019, Hignett left his role as boss and First Team Coach Antony Sweeney was handed caretaker charge whilst the Club sought a new Manager. The following month, former AFC Fylde boss Dave Challinor was appointed as the new First Team Manager, bringing with him Everton FA Cup winner Joe Parkinson as Assistant Manager, while Antony Sweeney was kept on in a First Team Coach capacity.
However, six weeks later the decision was taken for Money to move in to a more advisory role, paving the way for Craig Hignett to make a popular return for a second spell as Manager.

Pools beat off competition from several other clubs to land the signature of highly-rated young goalkeeper Ben Killip during the summer of 2019.
NIKCY FEATHERSTONE
BEN KILLIP
HARTLEPOOL UNITED TEAM The 6ft 2ins star was one of the star performers for Braintree Town last term, finishing the season as skipper and keeping an impressive ten clean sheets despite their relegation. His form not only earned him plenty of admirers, he also gained international recognition when he won three caps for England C during 2019/20. Killip first caught the eye of Craig Hignett and Ross Turnbull when he turned in an outstanding performance in Braintree’s 1-1 draw against Pools at the start of last term, making countless saves and also keeping out a Liam Noble penalty. When it became clear that Pools would be in the market for a keeper during the summer, former Chelsea trainee Killip moved to the top of their list of targets and the Club subsequently clinched a deal to bring him to the North East.

Experienced midfielder Nicky Featherstone arrived as then-boss Paul Murray’s first signing in October 2014, initially signing a short-term deal with the Club. However, his form in the centre of the park has blossomed since then and he became an integral part of the engine room, particularly upon the arrival of Craig Hignett as Manager in February 2016. Comfortable and composed in possession, Featherstone is now the Club’s longest-serving player having passed 200 appearances in all competitions during 2019/20. Having started his career with Hull City, he moved on to Hereford United in 2011 on a permanent deal after impressing during a loan spell with The Bulls. After making almost 60 appearances for the Edgar Street outfit, Featherstone returned to the Football League with Walsall where he spent two years. In 2015/16 he played 52 games in all competitions – with Jake Carroll the only man in the squad to complete more minutes in the campaign than the dependable midfielder. The midfielder made another 46 starts across all competitions last season, wearing the captain’s armband on many occasions in the absence of Billy Paynter, and he even chipped in with a career-best three goals. Featherstone was again among the top outfield appearance-makers last season and went on to sign a new contract with the Club during the summer.

Powerful midfield man Gus Mafuta became the Club’s fifth new signing of the 2019 summer joined Pools following his release from promoted Salford City.
GIME TOURE
GUS MAFUTA
ONES TO WATCH A tough-tackling ball-winner, Mafuta was nurtured in the youth ranks at Colchester United before moving on to Bristol City where he captained the Under-23s. After gaining some senior experience on loan at Nuneaton, Mafuta was allowed to leave Ashton Gate permanently in 2015 and went on to sign for Gateshead where he produced some outstanding performances in over 60 outings.
Powerful front man Gime Toure became the Club’s fifth signing of the 2019 summer when he agreed a move from Sutton United. The 6ft 2ins forward spent the first half of 2018/19 on the books at AFC Fylde before ending the campaign at Sutton, playing 41 games in all and hitting the net seven times. A strong and mobile attacker, Toure began his career back in his home country of France where an eyecatching 2013/14 for Viry Chatillon earned him a trial with West Brom. He returned to England in the summer of 2017 when he spent pre-season with Wrexham before going on to win a deal at eventual champions Macclesfield Town.
His strong and commanding displays earned him a move to Salford in 2017 and he played against Pools on the final day of last term as well as starting in The Ammies’ Promotion Final triumph over AFC Fylde.
Pools boss Craig Hignett had been looking to add a different kind of dimension to his attacking options during the summer and finalised a deal for Toure in June.
His no-nonsense style was something Pools boss Craig Hignett was keen on and will be looking to Mafuta to add some much-needed steel to the engine room during 2019/20.

CHALLINOR WAS APPOINTED AS PLAYER-MANAGER AT NORTHERN PREMIER LEAGUE PREMIER DIVISION CLUB COLWYN BAY ON 28 MAY 2010. He was assisted by former teammate Colin Woodthorpe. During their first season in management, they led Colwyn Bay to runners-up in the Northern Premier League Premier Division and a place in the play-offs. Victories over North Ferriby United and FC United of Manchester secured the club promotion to the Conference North. The club also won the North Wales Coast Cup, with victory over Flint Town United in the final on penalties. The club won the Fair Play Award for least amount of disciplinary points through the season and Challinor was named manager of the month for March, April and May 2011.
A.F.C. Fylde On 2 November 2011 it was announced that Challinor had been appointed the new manager of A.F.C. Fylde, in the Northern Premier League Division One North. He guided Fylde to the NPL First Division North championship in the season of his arrival and as a consequence was named Evo-Stik NPL Manager of the Year 2011–12. In 2012–13, Fylde once again qualified for the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division play offs but were defeated on penalties by Hednesford Town who took their place in the Conference North. Fylde did qualify for the FA Cup 20

First Round proper, eventually being defeated by Accrington Stanley and also were victorious in the Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy at The Reebok Stadium, Bolton. The 2013–14 season saw Fylde gain promotion to the National League North after defeating Ashton United in the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division play offs. They also retained their Lancashire FA Challenge Trophy with a 4–1 victory over rivals Chorley. In addition, they won the Doodson Sport League Cup with victory at Edgeley Park over Skelmersdale United. Their disciplinary record meant they won the Fair Play Award for the Premier Division and their overall record throughout the three leagues came out on top which saw them claim the Presidents Cup. They also had the best technical area marks for the Evo-Stik league to match the previous year’s statistic. The year saw Fylde move to their highest rung of the pyramid and a fourth promotion in five years for Challinor. In 2016–17 Challinor clinched promotion as National League North champions, with a 3–0 victory over Boston United on 22 April 2017. In June 2017, he signed a new two-year contract with the club. On 12 October 2019 A.F.C. Fylde announced that it was parting company with him as the manager.

WALKING FOOTBALL TEAM THE BIO BEES
(BARNET INCREDIBLY OLD) MAKE THEIR WALKING FOOTBALL DEBUT On a chilly Friday afternoon at the Hive, history was made as the Barnet Over 70’s Walking Football team played their inaugural match versus Cheshunt over 70’s. With 84 year old Sid Tobias alongside 81 year old Bob Fisher and youngster Tom Bentley aged 76 in defence, the BIO BEES held their own against a very good Cheshunt team who eventually took a deserved lead. This stung the Bees into action and a superb flick on by Sid Tobias saw Richard Fincher go clear through on goal and blast home our first ever Bio Bees goal. Both sides defended well as the match ended 1-1 in a well fought walking football match played in excellent spirit. It was only fitting that both sides shared the spoils.

Joe Allon scored 28 goals as Hartlepool United won promotion in 1990-91. Hartlepool began with a 3-2 victory at Chesterfield and John MacPhail arrived from Sunderland in September as they overcame a barren spell to soar up the Fourth Division table with six wins in seven matches. Brian Dalton grabbed a hat-trick in Hartlepool’s 5-1 win at Aldershot and Alan Murray replaced the dying Cyril Knowles as manager in March. Loan keeper Kevin Poole took over in goal as Hartlepool remained unbeaten in their last 14 games, starting with a 4-1 victory at Maidstone and clinching promotion with a 3-1 win at home to Northampton.
Hartlepool United maintained their upward progress as they were League One playoff finalists in 2004-05. Early form was inconsistent and they were mid-table by December before a nine-match unbeaten run lifted them into the promotion race, slamming five goals past Wrexham and MK Dons, then taking Brentford to an FA Cup fourth round replay. Top scorer Adam Boyd netted a hat-trick in a 3-0 win at home to Sheffield Wednesday in April, then Martin Scott replaced Neale Cooper as manager just before Hartlepool drew 2-2 at Bournemouth to pip them to the last play-off place. They lost 4-2 to Sheffield Wednesday in the final.

rare chance for Dan Sweeney whose half volley forced Wynne into an impressive save.
The Bees kicked off the game at a bitterly cold Hive London with the opening minutes being dominated by Barnet possession.
In the following ten minutes, the away side were the better of the two teams having a number of chances that troubled Darren Currie’s side.
In the 12th minute, Charlee Adams had the first opportunity of the game shooting from just outside of the box only to be confidently punched away by Farsley Celtic ‘Keeper Elliott Wynne.
Farsley Celtic broke away with Walton causing the problems for the Bees defence once again but a well-timed challenge from Adams ensured that the score remained 1-0.
The Celt Army were able to counter-attack and Tyler Walton, whose goal secured a replay for his side up at The Citadel, weaved through the Barnet defence but could only put his shot wide of the post.
Barnet ‘Keeper Scott Loach was tested for the first time of the night after a dangerous shot following a short-corner routine from Farsley Celtic’s number nine, James Spencer.
A better spell of possession for the Bees came from an inch-perfect pass by skipper James Dunne to the feet of Simeon Akinola but the Farsley Celtic defence were quick to close the forward down.
Another chance for the National League North side came after a high cross that appeared to clear everyone but Elliott Johnson had to place his body on the line to block a shot that looked to be a certain goal.
The Celt Army weren’t without their chances with Jack Higgins audaciously attempting an overhead kick with the ball finding him in the box. The best chance of the half fell to the Bees however, when Fonguck slipped the ball through to Josh Walker who lifted it over Wynne but Higgins made it back in time to clear the goal-bound ball. In the second half, the Bees started with plenty of attacking intent having two good chances within the first three minutes, the first falling to Fonguck, whose effort bent just inches past the post. The second, Dan Sparkes was just able to get a shot away whilst falling inside the penalty area but Wynne calmly parried the ball away. With the pressure mounting on the Farsley Celtic defence, Higgins brought down Akinola and Barnet were awarded another free-kick in a good position.
In the last ten minutes of the game, a ball that seemed impossible to be kept in was by the Celt Army winger whose cross was cleared into the path of Spencer and he rattled the crossbar past a beaten Loach. However, the game was put to bed in the 87th minute when Josh Walker tapped the ball home from five yards after Sparkes cut the ball back across the face of goal, meaning he secured both a goal and assist this evening. The Bees were able to close out the final minutes of the game to secure their place in the next round of the Buildbase FA Trophy.

On the anniversary of his infamous free-kick against Brentford last season, Sparkes cleverly dispatched the free-kick low into the Farsley net to break the deadlock.

MASCOTS This afternoon, we welcome … Welham Albion FC Welham Albion FC have been formed for around 4 years now and successfully won a little selection trophies in that time. Welham Albion offer support and training session to a variety of ages ranging from as young as under 7’s to under 12’s. The Welham Albion Wanderers under 10’s are a newly formed team since the start of the 2019 season and they currently playing in the Royston Crow Development League. The boys have worked solidly together, only losing 1 game, drawing 2 and winning 6 games. We are also in 2 cups having won both first round ties. Throughout November and December, they have gone unbeaten in their 6 games and in that time they’ve scored an excellent amount of goals leading to 24 in total, and conceding 7. Their two manager/coaches: Dan Hedges and Daniel Lewis have stuck by one another after forming their first team in youth football, they’ve both had a solid, good playing career and now want to pass on their experiences and knowledge of the game to the younger youths.
CHARITY COLLECTION This afternoon, we welcome the Harrow Association of Disabled People to the Hive who will be doing a bucket collection around the ground. Harrow Association of Disabled people (HAD) originated in 1972, a small grass roots organisation, from a group of disabled people and supporters, who felt that such a group was required to enable people to move out of poverty. Please donate as you see them around the ground today.

Jason Puncheon’s goal in the Bees 1-0 victory over Shrewsbury back in the 2004/5 season was a vital goal as we stole all three points in the 83rd minute. It was also Stephen Grist’s favourite Barnet goal!
Steve Kabba Helen Jerome picked out Steve Kabba’s strike vs Burton. “Always Steve Kabba away at Burton - we were standing behind the goal and it’s burned into my retinas. We knew what he was going to” do, yet it still surprised us, and still seems to happen in slow motion.

Adam Birchall Ryan Barney – “My favourite Barnet goal was Adam Birchall’s late equaliser away to Swindon in the FA Cup, in 2008.” The Bees then went onto win the subsequent replay at Underhill progressing to the next round!

Mauro Vilhete
This suggestion came up a lot and it won’t come as a surprise that Darren Currie’s netbuster against Swansea, was chosen by Mike Moate and many others. Currie beautifully curled home nothing short of a worldie away to the Swans.
Another popular choice amongst the Bees fans was Mauro Vilhete’s double in the 2-0 win over Gateshead that secured the title. Vilhete got both on one of the most memorable afternoons at The Hive London. Lee Crocker chose Mauro’s second as his pick, but there were plenty of you backing him up on social media.
If you haven’t seen the goal then it’s available on YouTube, years later and Currie is leading the Bees from dugout. The gaffer’s peroxide locks are certainly something too!

Mauro Vilhete Aleksander Czerniec’s pick was Mauro Vilhete’s expert free-kick in our 1-1 draw to Portsmouth in February 2017.

League of Ireland Premier Division side Cork City have signed Kenya Under 23 international Henry Ochieng from our local rivals Wingate and Finchley. The 21 year old started out his career in the academy of West Ham United, before moving to Leyton Orient in 2015. He would play just 14 times for the club, however, including making is debut against Brighton and Hove Albion Under 23 in the EFL Trophy in 2016, before moving to Braintree Town in 2018. He then ended the 2018/19 season at Welwyn Garden City, before joining the Blues at the start of the current season.
Former England international goalkeeper Tim Flowers has left his managerial position at National League side Solihull Moors. Having initially been assistant manager, the 52 year old took over the helm at the West Midlands side back in June 2018, when Mark Yates left for Macclesfield Town. During his spell at the club, he guided the side to a second-place finish in the National League last season, a club record run in the FA Trophy – the fourth round last season, as well as the fourth round of the Scottish Challenge Cup. The Premier League winner leaves the Moors in eighth place in the league, level on goal difference with the bottom playoff place.
Yet another managerial departure this week is at Cambridge United, who have parted company with Colin Calderwood. The former Mansfield Town, Swindon Town and Tottenham Hotspur defender the U’s fell to 18th place in League 2, following Tuesday’s 4-0 home loss to Salford City, a result which condemned the side to just one win in their past 10 league games. The former Scotland international joined the U’s in December 2018 and guided the side to 21st place in League 2, just six points off of the relegation zone. Mark Bonner, the assistant head coach, is set to take temporary charge whilst a permanent manager is found. 34

WHAT’S THE BUZZ
Another manager departing his club is Paul Hurst, who has this week left League 2 side Scunthorpe United. The former Grimsby Town, Shrewsbury Town and Ipswich Town manager only joined the Iron in the preseason, but has only won 8 out of the clubs’ 30 league games so far, as well as being knocked out of the FA Cup and League Cup in the first round. The 45-year-old, who made over 450 appearances for Rotherham United between 1993 and 2008, departed the club after Tuesday nights’ 3-0 away loss at Northampton Town. As of the time of writing, the Lincolnshire side have yet to announce who will take over their game away at Crawley Town today.
Cypriot side AC Omonia Nicosia have signed goalkeeper Costel Pantilimon on loan from Nottingham Forest. The Romania international originally moved to England from Politehnica Timisoara in 2011, when he joined Manchester City on loan, before joining permanently the following year. Although he played just 29 first-team games for the Citizens, he won the Premier League, League Cup and Community Shield, as well as being a runner up in the FA Cup. He then spent a year and a half at each of Sunderland and Watford in the Premier League, before signing for Deportivo de La Coruna in Spain before returning to England with Championship side Forest. The 32-year-old joins Omonia who currently sit second in the Cypriot First Division, the top flight of football in Cyprus, and are managed by former Blackburn, Manchester United and Norway international defender Henning Berg.
With Tuesday seeing the last of the second round replays taking place, the full draw for the FA Trophy has been finalised. As you probably already know, Barnet will host Barrow, whilst Notts County will travel to Yeovil Town, arguably the biggest tie of the round with both teams being relegated from the Football League last season. Other notable ties include local rivals Royston Town travelling to Ebbsfleet Town, Isthmian League Division 1 North side Aveley hosting Chelmsford City and Southern League Division 1 Central side Halesowen Town travelling to FC Halifax Town. The other ties are Dorking Wanderers vs AFC Fylde, Harrogate Town vs Eastleigh and Concord Rangers vs Leamington. The ties are due to be played next weekend, with winners claiming an £8,000 prize and a place in the quarter-final at the end of the month. This is followed by a two-legged semi-final in March before the final at Wembley in May.

WOMEN
The side placed 5th in the Barclays FA Women’s Super League started brightly and had the lion share of possession in the opening exchanges. However, Sarah Quantrill was not forced into any meaningful action as the Bees stood firm. On 13 minutes the Bees ‘keeper was called into action as she saved at pointblank range as Boye-Hlorkah prodded George’s dangerous cross towards goal. The Bees were forced into an early change as Amelia Hazard limped off in place of Nikita Whinnett who made her first appearance of 2020. The Toffees were in the ascendancy and should have taken the lead as a corner caused havoc in the area, the Bees put their bodies on the line to block three goalbound efforts before eventually it was prodded wide. The hosts struck the post with 30 minutes on the watch as Boye-Hlorkah’s curling cross went all the way through before hitting the inside of the post. The pressure continued from the Super League side as Quantrill did well to deny Chloe Kelly as struck from the edge of the area. On the stroke of half time, the host’s persistence told and they took the lead as Inessa Kaagman fired an unstoppable

effort that flew via the upright. It was a cruel blow on the Bees after they had defended so resolutely in the opening 45 minutes. The Bees had the first chance of the second half when Courtnay WardChambers broke through but fired her effort wide of the far post. It was then the hosts turn to go close as Kelly rounded Quantrill to cut back for Mollie Pike, but Quantrill tipped round her effort and behind for a corner. The hosts went close again as Quantrill had to be called into action to deny Turner from point-blank range but in truth, it was a much-improved secondhalf showing for Burch’s side. As the final moments approached Kelly had a long-range effort deflected onto the post, whilst Pickett fired straight at the Toffees’keeper. The Bees had the final chance of the game but a dangerous corner was scrambled clear by the Toffees defence. London Bees team:

BROMLEY AWAY POSTCARD Saturday saw us back on the road heading to Bromley. After my Dad made the trip down from Leeds on
Friday night, it was a nice local day out. Dad and I made our way to Victoria around midday where we got
on the train to Bromley joining other Barnet fans. After the short train ride, we were in Bromley just before 13:00. Conveniently, there’s a pub just opposite the station meaning our lunch was sorted. After some
food (and a few drinks) we headed to Hayes Lane which is about a 20-minute walk away. It was so cold that as soon as we got in the ground we got a hot drink to take onto the terrace. The away end filled up nicely as kick-off approached and the teams were ready to go.
In the first 10 minutes, Loach made some incredible saves to keep Bromley’s early chances out. On 20 minutes, we came close to scoring through Alexander but their goalie did well to save it. Just 6 minutes later though, we took the lead with Josh Walker scoring a lovely solo goal. Bromley tried to respond
immediately and we did well to keep them out but on 43 minutes they managed to equalise through Rees, taking us into half time level. We got more hot drinks to keep ourselves warm in the second half as we
searched for a winner. Just 9 minutes into the second half, Akinola gave us the lead again, getting on the
end of a Sweeney cross. After this, we had the momentum to go for another goal with good chances from
Dunne and Akinola, whilst Loach was doing an incredible job down the other end to keep Bromley’s efforts out. Eventually, the ref blew and we got the win.
We got the train back to Victoria with some other Bees arriving around 6 pm. Me and Dad headed to
Chinatown to celebrate Chinese New Year for tea before having an evening out in London. Bromley was a nice day out and it was good to make it 9 games unbeaten.
