The Brede jacket is our sturdiest and most durable jacket. It is designed for climbing with special emphasis on winter tours and expeditions. This is the jacket that professional guides use because it can take a lot of wear and tear. Brede is cut to allow warm clothing underneath. Combine Brede with Freke Salopettes and you are ready for any expedition. ! THE NAKED TRUTH: Very hardwearing, but not lightweight. This is a jacket for active people who aren’t scared of a snowstorm. Due to their construction, the pockets are not totally waterproof. Froste Jacket is an advanced and robust jacket. It´s suitable for customers with high demands on safety, technical features and innovative design. Froste is a rather tight jacket and for the tall and slim person with long arms it´s perfect. It is well tailored for slender women. Combine Froste with Freke Salopettes or Njord pants for a perfect match. ! THE NAKED TRUTH: The Froste jacket should be combined with high cut salopettes in the winter. You will really feel what naked means when you roll up the back and open up all the ventilation zips – and that’s the truth. Very hardwearing, but not lightweight.

Allgrön is our bestseller. It´s soft, stretchy, comfortable and made from recycled polyester. This is the jacket for ordinary outdoor activities when you need good protection with a nice fit. It has plenty of good features, but is not intended for the very extreme user that climbs every day or go on month long expeditions. Skogul pants goes well with Allgrön.

The salopette of salopettes

Freke Salopette is the absolute sturdiest and most extreme bibs there is. They are essential for mushers, for expeditionistas and for everyone that want the pants to last for many, many years. You can ski, snowboard, go ski touring, whatever. The Danish defense on Greenland uses them for the Sirius patrol. Get the Freke together with the Brede jacket, there is nothing like them! ! THE NAKED TRUTH: This product is more hardwearing than lightweight, but if you are an active person who’s not scared of a snowstorm, then this is the garment for you. Freke is not very comfortable without long johns underneath.

2. PFOA-FREE PRODUCT Perfluorooctanic acid (PFOA), which is the most hazardous of all fluorocarbons, has properties that have not yet been fully investigated. In addition to high persistency, it has been labelled a reproductive pollutant and may also be carcinogenic. The Swedish Chemicals Agency recommends that consumers ask for other alternatives when buying all-weather jackets. 3. PTFE-FREE WATERPROOF GARMENT Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE/Teflon®) is a water resistant, slippery plastic that is produced with PFOA. Fenrir Pants are amazingly lightweight and great for people who want to travel light. The pants dry in almost no time at all; you can practically take them out of the washing machine and put them on. MERINO WOOL

WONDERFUL WOOL Klättermusen’s Merino wool comes from approximately five sheep stations in New Zealand, which are able to provide very fine micron wool. The wool is scoured and carded in China and then spun and knitted in Auckland NZ before being sewn into fantastically soft and comfortable garments. Wool is a great material with natural antibacterial properties, which means you won’t smell as bad as you would after a week in the mountains in synthetic underwear. It’s biodegradable and comes from a renewable source. Wearing wool feels good both for the mind and body.

Is Merino a new breed of sheep? Merino is not a new breed of sheep; in fact, the Merino is thought to be the oldest sheep breed in the world, having evolved from several wild species. How many are there? Merino sheep account for approximately 5% of all sheep in New Zealand. That makes 3.3 million Merino sheep, of which 97% are on the South Island. When did they arrive in New Zealand? In 1773 Captain James Cook brought two Merino sheep to New Zealand from South Africa on his second voyage. Unfortunately his Noah’s Ark attempt to establish a breed from two sheep alone did not succeed. They took a bite of a poisonous plant and died. Isn’t wool itchy? Well, for sure it can be. Wool fiber have scales, like fish! They have to be removed in order to make the fibre soft and non itchy.
