NoZone #6: The Crime Issue came out in 1995 and its investigation of crime [gun, psychological &/or state-sponsored] was great & prescient because it features really top artists such as Nicholas Blechman [editor], Santiago Cohen, Peter Kuper and, for my contribution, Jonathon Rosen [http://jrosen.org], one of my favorites. It’s clear that the issue was already being addressed by investigating creatives in a very insightful way during a time when many people [especially many Americans] believed the mantra of more cops, more prisons being perpetrated by punish-incarcerate advocates like the Clintons. That their approach was dismal failure and that the issues remain pretty much the same is evidence enough that the well-paid experts didn’t have a hint of a rumor of an inkling of an actual solution.
