INTERVIEW #10 - JULY 2019 - YES WE ARE MAGAZINE
DEBORAH -DREXLER aka MILANOTRE PHOTOGRAPHER Deborah Drexler from Vienna, Italian/Austrian photographer with wonderful diversity of styles, street photography, nature, abstracts among which plenty of reflections, stupendously precise and extremely sensible. She has one of the biggest galleries of YWAMag (see it again at the end of the interview) : 168 superb images with real phenomenons among which some are in the interview. She’s also among the ones who have the most texts by me here, and she has been Choice of the Day 7 times, since 2 015. Enjoy her wonderfully personal vision in this interview, philosophical, technical and emotional. Travellers - Austria, Vienna’s main station
One of the key words for me in your artistic production is precision. What do you think ? Yes, precision is a keyword for me. I was educated to perfection as a child, it was not funny, but I had no choice then. Later I always had strict teachers, no matter in which area of life. In the field of photography I enjoyed an analogue education from which I learned to picture exactly what I want to see before doing something, so again precision.
Hi Deborah, what are your favorite topics or subjects to photograph ?
Do you feel more Italian or Austrian ? What do both countries bring to your creation ?
I usally move in three areas of photography : -street photography – on the street everything is about human life, culture and emotions. -abstract photography – where i can live my fantasy like a painter. -nature photography – here I find my peace of mind.
I have two souls : The Italian soul is my passion, my sense of love, my feeling for aesthetics, the carefree girl in me, The creative and cheerful part. the Austrian soul is very strict, brave, consistent and sometimes melancholic but never gives up.

Tell us about your link with reflections. Reflections are my philosophy. In a few words, everything is a reflection. Our daily thoughts, our relationships and even the state of our nature is a reflection of our behaviour. Art, religion, politics and the economy reflect our society. The education and the environment in which we grow up, are also a reflection of our life. Our character reflects what we are. The photography reflects visions, emotions and images that we see and feel everywhere. Under Ice (Vienna, Donauinsel)
Tell us about your models in photography.
What did/does YWAMag bring you ?
Everything is my model. That can be people, situations on the street, a flower, a building or a feeling.
I have followed YWAMag for years.
What is the importance of high level material in photography ?
I like to see other photographers’ works, as inspiration or just curiosity. I also appreciate what you do for the photographycommunity by reblogging and commenting our pictures. Thank you for it !
It depends on what you want to communicate. The material supports the statement. But at the end of the day, the quality of the editing, the story and information in the photo is what counts.
