CHATHAM CITY APARTMENTS

Completed while working as an employee of: GMShay Architecture + Urban Design. Under the supervision of: Pat Shay, AIA, LEED AP BD + C See resume for more information.

PROJECT GOALS:

• Develop master plan for new addition to existing affordable housing complex. Develop a building type to accommodate this project and serve as model for future expansion.

• Have addition be more communal and inviting than existing structures, while still complimenting and fitting in with the development, which is a surplus housing complex from WWII ship building efforts in the area.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design master plan, building layout, and end-unit type.

• Project Manager (under Pat Shay’s supervision). Responsible for creation and maintenance of Revit model, delegation of responsibilities to internal team members, coordination with all consultants from inception through completion of construction documents, and production of completed CD set for permitting. Construction administration by third party.

• Production of all major graphics and presentations, including all images found in this portfolio.

NOTE: For all captions labeled as “Designed in collaboration with Pat Shay”, my responsibilities were as follows:

1. Provide original idea in the form of a sketch or model.

2. Critique and incorporate Pat’s feedback.

3. Revise drawing and then critique with Pat.

4. Complete all drafting and modeling of final results.
