CAPITOL MIDDLE MAGNET SCHOOL is dedicated to providing a nurturing environment that fosters rigorous learning, while promoting the individual creative spirit in each student. We believe our children are the future, and we strive to provide all the tools necessary for a successful life for each of our students. Our scholars attend sixth to eighth grade with a magnet component. We also included E-Sports to our campus this year, providing more access to our students’ learning. GLASGOW MIDDLE SCHOOL
GLASGOW MIDDLE is a small middle school nestled in the Southdowns neighborhood. It offers a wide variety of academic opportunities to its students, including gifted, Scholastic Academy, Great Scholars, advanced and traditional classes. Students enroll in courses that earn high school credit as well as exciting electives like Roman Technology, Classical Myth Makers (taught by the current state teacher of the year), orchestra, piano, art animation, anatomy and physiology. Students may also participate in talented theater, talented visual art and talented music programs. Glasgow Middle students put forth their best efforts in everything they do.

MCKINLEY MIDDLE Academic Magnet School of Visual and Performing Arts is a high-performing, A-rated, dedicated academic magnet school with a focus on visual and performing arts. McKinley has been recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School and has received the titles of Magnet School of Excellence and Magnet School of Distinction from Magnet Schools of America. We are proud to offer students unique learning opportunities through advanced academics as well as arts integration across the curriculum. We are the only middle school in the state that participates in the Louisiana Thespian Association. Our amazing faculty and staff is passionate about our school and devoted to our students. THE INSTRUCTIONAL focus of Park Forest Middle Creative Sciences and Arts Magnet is STEAM education. The STEAM concept infuses components of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics throughout the core curriculum to offer students unique learning experiences that prepare them for high school and beyond. Students use project-based learning to investigate and explore the areas of animation, robotics, coding, entertainment technology and renewable energy. Raiders develop 21st-century critical thinking skills through scientific inquiry and the engineering design process.
A partnership with Global Geospatial Institute using GIS software allows students to find new information through project-based learning, realworld problem-solving and service-learning to prepare them to live, compete and successfully function in their community and global society.

THE THEME AT Scotlandville Pre-Engineering Magnet Academy (SPEMA) is “Cultivating the Art of Engineering Excellence.” Our goal is to ensure that all students are exposed to a rigorous curriculum that promotes student collaboration. In addition, we work to develop partnerships with community members and surrounding businesses. One of the primary purposes of the school is to ensure that all students are exposed to our STEAM concept. The STEAM concept allows the students to be exposed to rigorous activities in science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

SHERWOOD MIDDLE ACADEMIC MAGNET SCHOOL
SHERWOOD MIDDLE Academic Magnet School is a high school preparatory school that focuses on college and career readiness. We provide students with the unique opportunity to build a solid foundation for high school by offering a rigorous, advanced curriculum, with over 10 high school credit courses, including Algebra I and II, geometry, physical science, STEM Pathways, computer science, Spanish I and French I. Sherwood students are offered a wide variety of electives including pre-law, forensics, robotics, coding and video editing. From an award-winning Visual and Performing Arts Department (art, band, choir, orchestra, dance) to our STEAM and academic electives, our students are encouraged to develop artistic and intellectual abilities while discovering their passions. Students leave Sherwood prepared for high school and ready to further explore their future career paths.

SOUTHEAST MIDDLE MAGNET SCHOOL
SOUTHEAST MIDDLE Magnet School has a program and activity for every student. Students have the opportunity to leave Southeast with up to six high school credits, including Algebra I, geometry, environmental science, digital media, speech, publishing, keyboarding, multimedia production, JAG and many others. Each year, students are involved in community outreach and hands-on project-based learning activities. Southeast Middle Magnet offers both the Digital Arts and Technology Academy as well as traditional academic programs.
The school is a nationally certified magnet school with many accolades: a finalist for the EBR Teacher of the Year; a Magnet Schools of America’s Teacher of the Year; Wayland Foundation National Mayor’s Challenge for Water Conservation winner, first place winner in the Global Student Voice Festival, and Film of the Year in the inaugural EBR Film Festival.

WESTDALE MIDDLE SCHOOL
WESTDALE MIDDLE SCHOOL’S students and staff come from all over the world. Westdale hosts a variety of special programs, including a World Language Immersion Program, a Gifted and Talented Program, a Great Scholars Program, and programs for Exceptional Students. Despite the diversity of our programs, we pride ourselves on being one school where everyone comes together. Academics and diversity are key opportunities that allow our students to take more than 10 different high school credit courses. We have added a service learning component and are studying the question, “What does it mean to be a global citizen?” Our extensive elective offerings include French, Spanish, Mandarin, aquaponics, art, drama, choir, band, strings, robotics, drones, astronomy, forensics, engineering design and computer science.

EXCELLENCE DOES NOT happen by chance—it happens by choice. Woodlawn Middle is second to none in offering parents and students a variety of choices in academic and elective courses.
