BATON ROUGE CENTER FOR VISUAL AND PERFORMING ARTS
AT BRCVPA, both the arts and academics share the spotlight. All students in K-5 engage in a grade-level theatrical production each school year. Fourth-grade students imagine, create, plan and execute their own original musical, and fifthgrade students put on a licensed production each spring, which they share with neighboring schools and the community. Students leave BRCVPA as confident, articulate problem-solvers. They benefit from instruction targeted to various learning styles and have ample opportunities to express themselves academically and creatively. The school believes that a strong basis in the creative arts infused throughout all academics will give students the necessary skills to contribute to and interact effectively within the global society.

SCHOOLS
The Focus Choice Schools model will provide opportunities for students interested in defined thematic programs that are aligned with the five career fields of the Pathways to Bright Futures program: technology; construction and manufacturing; medical and pre-med; transportation and logistics; and liberal arts and management.
PK-6th Grade
A partnership with the Baton Rouge General Medical System and Park Elementary will be designed as an inquiry and project-based exploratory model in health sciences to provide students with the opportunity to experience various aspects of the medical field — including but not limited to forensics, medical technology, pharmaceutical, nursing and clinical studies — which will serve as a catalyst for theme-based opportunities aligned with programs at the high school level.
A partnership with LSU and The Water Institute, this program will play a key role in addressing the current and future needs of the environmental industry: environmental erosion; wetlands conservation; soil and native ecosystems; mitigation; and conservation. The goal of the program is to develop and implement an instructional model that increases student awareness of their environment from a scientific viewpoint.
