THE EAST BATON ROUGE Parish School System Foundation prides itself on contributing to students’ success. The nonprofit organization is a taxexempt public charity and grant-making organization. It provides vital support to area students, teachers and school administrators by building effective partnerships and funding high-impact projects for which tax dollars are not available.

Its mission is to enhance education, champion innovation and provide sustained financial support to public schools within the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.

Through foundation grants, fellowships, programs, and events, the EBRP Foundation gives back to the students, staff and families of the EBR community. It comprises a board of directors that made it their mission to help fund and provide learning opportunities for students. In addition, the organization finds resources and economic vitality for the EBRP region. The Board of Directors and the organization’s staff contribute to every child’s education and make sure the lack of necessities do not get in the way of a child’s learning.

One of the ways the Foundation gives back to the community is through its Adopt An Elf campaign—encouraging others to adopt a “virtual elf” during the holiday season. Some EBR students in the district are classified as either homeless or in transition, so the organization asked the public to donate clothes, toys, and more from the students’ Christmas lists. This school year, the Foundation helped support over 300 students for the Christmas holiday.
