Celebrating

THE JOURNEY BUSINESS REPORT HAS HIGHLIGHTED LOCAL BUSINESSES ON OUR FRONT PAGE FOR 35 YEARS, WHILE GROWING INTO A MULTIPUBLICATION, DIGITAL AND SPECIAL EVENTS COMPANY.

“Information, almost as much as capital, is essential for commerce and there is no better source for critical news, insights and analysis for the Baton Rouge area than the Business Report. I was privileged to give the keynote address at the first Business Awards banquet back in early 1984. Since then I have been impressed with the vision, entrepreneurial flair, character and obvious ability of the publication to make things happen for Baton Rouge. I’m happy to say Rolfe and I have been friends since 1984! Congratulations on your 35th!”

OUR PREMIER ISSUE spread across the Capital Region in September of 1982. Throughout the following three decades, Business Report has covered the people, companies and events that impacted the times and helped our area grow so dramatically. Business Report began as a monthly publication and then stepped up to publishing an issue every two weeks in 1991. We created special events to connect and spotlight businesses and businesspeople, and they have been received exceptionally well. In 1998, we led the way in this region with our digital daily e-newsletter: Daily Report. Our vision statement is “To be a company of excellence, innovation and impact every day.” We continue to be entrepreneurial and growth-focused, now with more than 60 members on our team. It is that team we want to highlight on the pages that follow—those who make it happen every day. We appreciate their talent and dedication to our parent company, Louisiana Business Inc., and to our community. Our team produces all the publications you see in this section, including 225, inRegister and 10/12 Industry

Report—as well as special publications like Annual Report, Welcome Tourist Guide, Real Estate Report, Book of Lists and others. They have also produced many of our own unique events. Working with others, we have been a catalyst and a supporter of new community events such as the Corporate Cup 5K, Sunday in Park, The Fur Ball and BREW (Baton Rouge Entrepreneurship Week.) We love to see Baton Rouge grow and prosper— and have a good time. We also take pride in the many awards our Baton Rouge publication has won, including the national Gold for “Best Newspaper” from the Alliance of Area Business Publications, while besting papers in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. We also value our Douglas Manship Sr. Torch Award for Ethics in Business presented by the Better Business Bureau. As readers and members of the business community, your trust in us is valued greatly and inspires our ongoing commitment to excellence. THANK YOU, BATON ROUGE for your support in this exciting journey of 35 years, which we celebrate with you.
