2020 Gattaca (-3) BBCOR Baseball Bat Review

This Demarini Gattaca BBCOR bat that gives you an optimal launch angle when you hit and create more distance. This bat is accomplished with Gattaca, Technically speaking this bat is more advanced ever. This is also considered as the first-ever bat with different designs for the left-handed and right-handed hitters. This bat features an all-new SpESys channel barrel that helps hitters consistently drive balls at optimal launch angle, generating more extra-base hits. Simply, this bat is built for elite power hitters, also gives home run over the course of a season. Adjustable On Demand(AOD) knob has been added to assist hitters to make real-time adjustments at the plate, this allows batters to extend or shorten their bat length. While maintaining the full power of swing, hitters can cover more of the plate to hit balls. Also, a new Kryptos end cap is added that gives a direct view inside of the barrel, by using this, you can easily crack the code of how the launch angle is optimized. What Demarini does say on their website that Gattaca has the ability to improve your best touch performance. The player can observe a 10% increase in the distance at the highest exit velocity at launch angles between 20 and 30 degrees.

3FusionTM Connection is Crafted to redirect energy back into the barrel, not in your hands. Kryptos End Cap provides a clear view of the barrel, and you can see how we cracked the code for optimizing the launch angle. AOD Knob helps batters to make real-time changes on the plate, whether they choke up or extend the length of their bat. It ensures hitters will cover most of the plate while maintaining their full swing strength. Paraflex+composite design of the handle allows batter weight distribution and improved feel on contact.

3 Key Pieces of Technology Used in 2020 Demarini Gattaca BBCOR Baseball Bat Demarini Gattaca BBCOR baseball bat highlights 3 pieces of engineering and technology. 1. AOD Knob(Adjust on demand) 2. Kryptos End Cap 3. SPE.SYS Barrel

1- AOD Knob(Adjust on demand) The AOD knob literally permits power hitters to make adjustments of the knob the position on the knob on the bat during or prior to an at-bat. This feature gives the hitter to effectively make a bat shorter or longer depending on the at-bat or even the count. That being said....... "I'm not sure about the advantages of the knob over the tried and true tradition of choking up on the handle." It will surely have an astonishing impact on the "feel" of the bat which can be a big thing for a hitter. Strictly speaking, it seems to be more of a cool feature than anything. Because of a relatively new feature to the bat market, It will take time to understand. There is no question that if players really enjoy it, it will stick around and other manufacturers will find a way to produce something similar.

2- Kryptos End Cap The Kryptos end cap is clear, allowing you to see down the barrel and inside the bat. It also offers a direct view of the barrel so you can see how to code has been cracked on the launch angle. Once again we observe this is a really cool feature but we don’t know how much this really adds to the functionality of the bat. It's also important to note that there are sometimes features released in the baseball world that is fantastic from a marketing point of view but doesn't do anything to boost the product's performance. viber Remember when Worth released a bat in their Copperhead line that had the feature of the electronic anti-action system. You have to hit the end of the barrel on the ground and the knob would turn on a little red light. Time to hit!

It wasn't so good when the wires went flying and bats started exploding and aluminum everywhere!

3- SPE.SYS Barrel SPE.SYS Barrel is the innovation that is assumed to set this bat apart. The launch angle of batted balls is improved in the optimal launch angle zone by these internal grooves (between 20 and 30 degrees). The reason behind these designs specifically for right-handed and left-handed hitters is that grooves should be parallel to the ground at optimal contact. Demarini shares the data obtained during the Gattaca study, and this is where they get the amount of 10 percent changes. The Gattaca performed about 10 percent better than a stock bat (one without the grooves) when a ball was hit at the optimal launch angle and max exit velocity at about 90 percent of hitters. Again, this bat isn't meant to deliver magically amazing results from a poor swing and poor contact. The purpose is to get more out of your best swing by hitting a ball at a launch angle that can produce extra-base hits and home runs. If you're not at the point where you can hit the ball in the gap as a hitter, then this is definitely not the bat for you. But 10-20 ft of carrying can mean a lot when it comes to balls in the gap. Singles become doubles. Doubles become home runs.

A Quick Review This bat is liked by bigger, stronger hitters. If you are a contact hitter or high OBP type, don't expect to get extra oomph. Stay within the realm of the composite. Nonetheless, those who swing with great strength can see the bat 's benefits. It is exciting to see the innovative ideas from DeMarini in practice. We admire the efforts DeMarini has made to release unique goods, and they did a great job on the 2020 Demarini Gattaca bats. The variety of new features on the 2020 DeMarini's BBCOR Gattaca bats make it special from any bat on the market, and this year, we expect the Gattaca to be very common across all baseball bats and levels. We wouldn't be surprised if more bat makers leverage these technologies.

Recommendations We liked three things about Gattaca 2020: design, innovation, and price. First off, the bat consists of a hybrid two-piece design that uses many of the elements found in the beloved DeMarini Voodoo. Second, the aluminum barrel technology improves performance in a BBCOR environment where a lot of manufacturers have been stuck to the limit. And finally, while more costly in the BBCOR space than the typical two-piece performance combination, the Gattaca has a fair price point — DeMarini isn't expecting to recapture all of their R&D on the bat's first run.
