Dr Jonathan Hicks (Kings College London) delved into BAC’s musical history, placing the building in the context of other performance venues in the Battersea area before zooming in to some examples from the Town Hall’s own archives. Jo is a postdoctoral researcher whose specialism is the historical study of musical geographies.
Devon Marston and Paul Brewer are founder members and directors of Sound Minds, a Battersea-based user led charity and social enterprise transforming the lives of people experiencing mental ill health through participation in arts activities. Devon and Paul told us how Sound Minds sprang from music, and how they use music as a medium to engage with people through both the services they provide and their awareness-raising work.
