In »Cultural Landscapes & Urban Resilience« participants develop an integrated urban design approach that considers urban resilience in the context of climate-sensitive planning. The course includes lectures on the more general context of urban resilience, a GIStraining and its application to map urban heat islands of informal and formal housing areas in Cairo. Finally, the findings are interpreted to create design solutions that respond to urban heat in the physical, cultural and social context. Additionally the Bauhaus Summer School offers a diverse cultural programme in Weimar and Thuringia.

Introduction to Geographic Information Systems (GIS): application to building level, neighbourhood level & climate date for UHI-Analysis
