BMW CONNECTED DRIVE DRIVER ASSISTANCE – A CO-DRIVER WHO THINKS AHEAD. BMW ConnectedDrive Driver Assistance includes innovative functions that enhance safety and convenience, maximising your driving pleasure. Knowing in advance what sort of bend is coming up next? The full-colour BMW Head-up Display tells you. More light in the dark? The High-Beam Assistant takes care of it.

BMW HEAD-UP DISPLAY – ALWAYS SEE WHERE YOU’RE GOING. The full-colour BMW Head-Up Display projects relevant information directly into the driver’s line of sight (not fully visible with polarised sunglasses). This ensures the driver’s eyes stay on the road all the time. The Head-Up Display shows current speed, navigation directions, Speed Limit Info incl. no-overtaking indicator, Check Control functions and infotainment information.

SPEED LIMIT INFO – THE SPEED LIMIT IS RIGHT WHERE YOU NEED IT – WITHIN VIEW. Speed Limit Info including no-overtaking indicator detects current speed limits and no-overtaking signs and shows them to the driver on the Info Display in the instrument cluster or on the BMW Head-Up Display. The Navigation System Business or Professional are required.

DRIVING ASSISTANT – LEAN BACK AND LEAVE THE ROAD TO YOUR BMW. Driving Assistant combines the camera-based systems Lane Departure Warning and Approach Control Warning. From a speed of approx. km/h, the system draws the driver’s attention to an unintentional lane change by means of slight vibrations in the steering wheel. Approach Control Warning detects cars ahead and warns of an imminent risk of collision. Pedestrians are detected too, so the driver is warned of a potential collision and if necessary the brakes are applied.

ACTIVE PROTECTION AND ATTENTIVENESS ASSISTANT. Active Protection consists of safety components for the automobile. In critical situations, safety belts are pretensioned, seats returned to the upright position and windows closed, for example. After an accident occurs, the system is able to brake the automobile automatically until stationary. In addition, the Attentiveness Assistant monitors the driver’s steering behaviour for signs of fatigue and notiﬁes the driver via the Control Display.

SURROUND VIEW AND PARK ASSISTANT. Surround View comprises the Rear View camera and Side View, providing a -degree panorama view: Top View provides an image of the areas behind and on either side of the car for more convenient manoeuvring. Side View enables improved visibility when exiting driveways or side streets. The image is also displayed on the Control Display.

DAZZLE-FREE HIGH-BEAM ASSISTANCE – INTELLIGENT VISION. The High-Beam Assistant relieves the driver at night, by automatically activating the high-beam and low-beam headlights when there is oncoming trafﬁc or vehicles driving ahead. When the environment is sufﬁciently illuminated, for example in built-up areas, the High-Beam assistant responds by automatically switching off the high-beam headlights.

BMW EfficientDynamics, included as standard, is a comprehensive technology package designed to reduce fuel consumption and emissions – while simultaneously enhancing dynamic performance. This strategy enabled the BMW Group to reduce the CO emissions of its European fleet of new cars by more than % since . There are already  BMW models which each produce a maximum of only g CO/km. Different paths to the same destination: unmistakable BMW driving pleasure. Under the umbrella of the BMW EfficientDynamics project, BMW is continuously developing innovative systems that will bring us closer to the long-term goal of emission-free mobility. The optional adaptive suspension for even more dynamic handling – the electronically controlled dampers in the Adaptive M suspension adapt to suit your current driving style and the road conditions. You can modify the damper characteristics using the Driving Experience Control. A noticeably ﬁrmer damper setting is activated when you select the Sport or Sport+ mode via the Driving Experience Control. For rear-wheel drive models, the Adaptive M suspension also includes a chassis that has been lowered by  millimetres, but which has no impact on the driving comfort. The variable sport steering works independently of your current speed, varying the steering ratio in line with the steering angle. It includes the Servotronic function and reduces the steering wheel movement required to achieve a particularly tight steering angle. This greatly improves agility, particularly when driving dynamically around tight bends and curves, and makes parking and manoeuvring much easier. When the steering wheel angle is small, the steering delivers steady directional stability and precision on straights.

The rear-wheel drive is the crucial cornerstone that produces the kind of extraordinary agility and manoeuvrability for which BMW is renowned. At the same time, this drive conﬁguration enables an ideal weight distribution across the entire chassis. This makes for perfect transmission of power and traction to the road. The intelligent BMW xDrive four-wheel drive system adapts perfectly to even the most challenging road surface conditions, always offering outstanding traction. With xDrive and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), your car remains directionally stable and controllable. xDrive ﬂexibly distributes drive power to the front and rear wheels, performing lightning-fast adjustments to ensure optimum ground contact at all times. This allows xDrive to combine the advantages of a four-wheel drive – traction, directional stability and safety – with typical BMW agility. Driving Experience Control incl. ECO PRO allows the drive train and suspension components, such as steering, to be individually adapted via the Comfort, Sport and Sport+ modes (available in conjunction with sport automatic transmission, variable sport steering, adaptive suspension, Sport Line and M Sport package). Activating the ECO PRO Mode helps optimise fuel consumption and leads to the display of potential savings in the instrument cluster.

The active rear spoiler optimises the air flow at the rear of the car as your speed increases, to ensure excellent road holding and classic BMW driving dynamics. The rear spoiler automatically extends at speeds of over km/h – and retracts once you’re back under km/h. You can also manually control the active rear spoiler via a button on the driver side door (below the electric window controls). The optional eight-speed sport automatic transmission adapts to suit your individual driving style. It’s perfect for everything from comfortable cruising through to a very dynamic drive. The sport automatic transmission also allows you to change gears manually at any time using the shortened gear lever or the paddles on the Sport leather steering wheel. In Sport mode, the gear shifts are configured for maximum dynamics. The particularly fine graduation of the eight gears optimises the acceleration process and the engine speed is continually optimised to guarantee the best possible efficiency and performance.

 Adaptive Headlights with variable light distribution, incl. cornering lights and the Anti-dazzle High-Beam Assistant, illuminate bends at greater distances by optimally adjusting the swivelling headlights as soon as the driver turns the steering wheel. The variable light distribution automatically adapts the headlight range, to suit city or motorway conditions, for example. To improve short-range visibility, the cornering lights integrated into the fog lights are automatically activated as soon as the indicator is switched on or the steering wheel is turned – even when the vehicle is at a standstill.

 Anti-dazzle High-Beam Assistant (included in the optional equipment Adaptive Headlight) automatically switches between high and low beam depending on trafﬁc conditions and ambient light for optimal illumination of the road at night. The system monitors the presence of vehicles in front or oncoming trafﬁc and continuously adjusts the high-beam lights to avoid dazzling other road users.

 Active Protection means that all safety components in the BMW are designed to complement each other perfectly. In potentially dangerous situations, the Active Protection function automatically increases the tension in the front seat belts and closes any open windows and the optional Panorama glass roof. If an accident occurs, an automatic braking function brings the vehicle to a complete stop, which signiﬁcantly helps to prevent follow-on collisions. In addition, the Attentiveness Assistant monitors the steering response of the driver for signs of tiredness and signals any irregular driving behaviour on the Control Display.

 Intelligent eCall* automatically sets off an alarm if a serious accident – necessitating the release of airbags and activation of belt tensioners – occurs. Via a built-in SIM card, rescue details such as the exact position of the vehicle, information about the severity of the accident and possible injury risks of the passengers, will be transmitted to the BMW call centre. The BMW call centre will inform the nearest rescue coordination centre and will supervise the accident victims over the phone until the rescue service arrives. The emergency call can also be triggered manually, in case other road users require help.

 Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) with extended functionality includes Cornering Brake Control (CBC), the hill-start and braking assistant, brake drying and braking readiness. DSC recognises any slight skidding and stabilises your car within fractions of a second. Traction Mode (DTC) is a subsidiary function of DSC. In certain driving conditions it allows increased wheel slip, which optimises acceleration and enables you to drive more dynamically.

 Airbags are an integral part of the perfectly coordinated safety system in your BMW. Six dedicated airbags provide increased safety: the driver and front passenger airbags, a curtain system of head airbags for front and rear passengers, as well as side airbags integrated into the back of the front seats.

 Runflat tyres feature reinforced side walls that prevent the tyres from completely collapsing or loosening from the rim if the air pressure drops. So in the event of a flat tyre, you’ll be able to make it safely to the next repair shop.  The runflat indicator notifies the driver of any tyre problems. A minor loss in pressure is signalled by a light in the cockpit, while a greater loss is additionally indicated by an acoustic warning.

 Passenger cell. The system of members and node connections in the functionally constructed body structure combined with the strategic deployment of high-strength materials delivers maximum passive safety in front, side or rear crashes.

 The BMW Individual High-Gloss Shadow Line includes numerous features in high-gloss Black: the front and rear side window frame trim and window channel trim as well as the exterior mirror frames and bases.  B-pillars and C-pillars come in high-gloss Black and emphasise the car’s elegance.

 Xenon Headlights with high and low beam functions also include the headlight washing system, LED accent lights, automatic headlight range control, as well as four LED light rings that act as parking lights and daytime running lights.  Adaptive Headlights including variable light distribution, (included in the optional Visibility package) integrated cornering lights and anti-dazzle High-Beam Assistant; illuminates bends as soon as the driver turns the steering wheel. Anti-dazzle High-Beam Assistant continuously adjusts the intensity of the high-beam lights depending on the surrounding trafﬁc for optimal illumination of the road ahead and to prevent dazzling oncoming trafﬁc.

 Headlight washing system ensures optimal brightness of the headlights in all weather conditions. When the lights are switched on, the headlights are cleaned automatically whenever the driver activates the windscreen washer jets.

 Panorama glass roof, electric, with slide and lift functions (front), a wind deﬂector and a comfort opening function via the car’s remote control.

 Frameless windows emphasise the car’s elegant, coupé-style appearance.

 Dynamic brake lights with indicator function help following traffic to instantly differentiate between light deceleration and more urgent situations – for increased safety on the road.

 Interior mirror with automatic anti-glare function automatically reduces the glare caused by the headlights of following cars when the amount of incident light exceeds a deﬁned limit.  Interior and exterior mirrors with automatic anti-glare function, including mirror memory, electric exterior mirror fold-in function and the automatic parking function for the front passenger exterior mirror when the reverse gear is engaged.  Alarm system with remote control and anti-theft system.

 Air Breather located in the front wheel arches channels the air ﬂow at the front wheels. This decreases air air turbulence at the front wheels, thereby reducing the vehicle’s fuel consumption and CO emissions output.

 Tailpipes with chrome trim. The models i, d and d come with a single visible tailpipe on the left. The i features single tailpipes left and right; the i and d have twin tailpipes.

 Fog lights in the front apron increase safety in poor visibility. This feature also includes heated exterior mirrors and windscreen washer jets.

 M leather steering wheel features multifunction buttons, more pronounced thumb rests and a thicker rim for a better grip.  Multifunction buttons on the steering wheel can be used to operate the telephone, voice control and audio functions, as well as the Speed Limit Device.

 Instrument cluster features four analogue displays – speedometer, rev counter, fuel gauge, and oil temperature – as well as an Info Display. The latter shows data such as exterior temperature and on-board computer functions.  Instrument cluster with extended functionality includes a high-resolution Info Display for showing Check Control functions, navigation directions and other data. (Standard in conjunction with Active Cruise Control, BMW Head-Up Display and Navigation System Professional.)

 Driving Experience Control incl. ECO PRO enables you to switch between the ECO PRO, Comfort, Sport and Sport+ driving modes at the push of a button (Sport+ mode only available in conjunction with Sport Line, sport automatic transmission, adaptive suspension, M Sport package or variable sport steering). The ECO PRO Mode is designed to encourage a particularly efﬁcient style of driving.  Adaptive suspension is lowered by mm and features dynamic damper control. The driver can choose between comfortable or sporty suspension settings using the Driving Experience Control.

Based on your driving style, the system recommends when to switch into a higher or lower gear (in conjunction with six-speed manual transmission).  M Sport suspension is lowered by mm and features a sportier chassis set-up.

 Eight-speed sport automatic transmission, incl. sporty gear lever and the Sport+ mode, delivers fast and completely ﬂawless gear shifts for maximum driving dynamics and can be operated via the gearshift paddles on the Sport leather steering wheel. When activated, Launch Control ensures optimal acceleration of the vehicle from standstill to top speed.

 Eight-speed automatic transmission makes changing gears and driving signiﬁcantly more convenient, thanks to smoother engine speed transitions and shorter gear ratios (standard with i xDrive and i xDrive).

 One-zone automatic air conditioning, incl. microﬁlter.  Two-zone automatic air conditioning features separate air volume and temperature controls for the driver and front passenger. It also includes rear air vents, automatic air recirculation, a microﬁlter, fogging and solar sensors and a Max Cool button.

 Park Assistant makes it easier to parallel park in roadside spaces. The system works by measuring potential spaces while driving past (below km/h). Once a large enough space has been found, the Park Assistant takes over the steering while the driver supports the manoeuvre by working the accelerator and brake pedal.

 Rear View camera enhances visibility when reversing and at speeds below km/h, for example when parking (available in conjunction with Park Distance Control).

 New Generation Navigation System Professional, incl. high-resolution ." display, DVD changer, iDrive Controller with direct access buttons, favourites, integrated hard disk (GB) for audio data and navigation instructions, D map display.  Radio BMW Professional includes a *." colour monitor, iDrive Controller with direct menu control buttons, a CD drive and MP decoder.  DAB tuner (Digital Audio Broadcasting) delivers brilliant sound quality and excellent reception of a larger selection of digital radio stations, including many special-interest broadcasters. It is also DAB+ compatible.

 Surround View includes the Rear View camera with Top View and Side View and enables a  degree ﬁeld of visibility. This system facilitates parking and manoeuvring in conﬁned spaces as well as areas with reduced visibility (available in conjunction with the Rear View camera).

 Park Distance Control (PDC) front and rear, or just rear, makes it easier to manoeuvre and park the vehicle in even the tightest spaces. The proximity of obstacles is indicated acoustically as well as visually on the Control Display.

 Bluetooth Ofﬁce. In conjunction with a navigation system and an integrated business mobile phone, you can use Ofﬁce functions via Bluetooth such as emails, appointments or SMS on the Control Display, or have them read out using the read-aloud function.

 Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI)*. RTTI utilises traffic guidance systems to provide the most precise, up-to-date traffic information. RTTI shows traffic jams on motorways and country roads and suggests efficient detours.

 Concierge Service*. The BMW telephone information service can help you book a hotel or make a restaurant reservation, for example. Addresses can be sent directly to your navigation system.

 Harman Kardon Surround Sound System includes a powerful  W digital ampliﬁer, vehicle-speciﬁc equalizer, central speaker and  loudspeakers for truly outstanding sound quality.

 HiFi loudspeaker system features a  Watt ampliﬁer and nine loudspeakers for brilliant sound.

 Convenience telephony with extended smartphone connectivity enables a wireless connection between Bluetooth-compatible mobile phones and the car. It also includes the hands-free kit. The sound quality can be improved by connecting to the external aerial using a snap-in adapter.  Hands-free kit with USB interface for wirelessly connecting compatible Bluetooth mobile phones, and connecting suitable audio devices (e.g. MP player) via a USB interface.

 BMW Online* provides access to online services (email, the Google Maps database, customised portals for news, weather, etc.).  Driving Assistant, incl. Lane Departure Warning, Approach Warning and Pedestrian Warning with City Brake Activation. This camerabased system is active at speeds of km/h and over and warns against unintentional lane departures, as well as against potential collisions with pedestrians and vehicles driving ahead.

 Lane Change Warning detects cars in the driver’s blind spot and cars approaching at speed in the adjacent lane when the driver has activated the indicator in order to change lanes. The system alerts the driver with a steering wheel vibration and a visual warning on the exterior mirror.

 Standard seats for the driver and front passenger with manual adjustment of the fore/aft position, backrest angle and headrest height, incl. seat height adjustment.

 Seat adjustment, electric, with memory function, enables the driver to save and retrieve their desired settings for the seat and exterior mirror (includes automatic parking function).  Lumbar support for the driver and front passenger seats, height and depth can be electrically adjusted to provide a perfect ergonomic seating position.

 Rear backrest release function (included in the storage package) enables the rear backrest to be unlocked and folded down conveniently from the luggage compartment – to create an almost ﬂat loading space.

 BMW Head-Up Display, full-colour, incl. instrument cluster with extended functionality, projects relevant driving information (such as the current speed) right in the driver’s ﬁeld of vision. And now for the ﬁrst time, this information is shown in full colour. This makes it easier to quickly and precisely recognise a variety of different symbols and information. What’s more, navigation directions, Approach Warning, Speed Limit Info, Check Control, entertainment and communication lists can also be displayed (not available in conjunction with the windscreen with grey shade band).

 Speed Limit Info with no-overtaking indicator detects current speed limits and no-overtaking signs and shows them to the driver on the Info Display or the BMW Head-Up Display (only in conjunction with a BMW navigation system and the instrument cluster with extended functionality).

 Sport seats for driver and front passenger feature electric backrest width adjustment for optimum lateral support. Seat length, seat height, backrest angle, seat angle and thigh support (standard with Sport Line and M Sport package).  Seat heating for the driver and front passenger, seat surfaces and backrests can be heated to one of three levels.  Seat heating for rear, seat surfaces and backrests of both outside seats can be heated to one of three levels (only available as part of the Heating Comfort package and in conjunction with leather upholstery).

 Storage compartments in the front and rear doors, storage compartment with lid in the front centre console, open compartment under the front centre armrest and in the rear centre console, two cup holders in the front and rear, storage tray and glove compartment.

 Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function, incl. radar based Approach Warning and braking function. Automatically maintains the desired speed up to km/h while taking into account the vehicle ahead. In typical Stop&Go situations, it brings the car to a standstill and automatically resumes driving as appropriate.

 Front armrest, with sliding adjustment and integrated storage compartment.

 Continuous rear seat, with rounded side sections, generous head and leg room, seats three people. The backrest can be inclined in  stages and folded back in a :: split.

 Lights package featuring LED technology includes a variety of additional lights, such as front and rear reading lights, vanity mirror illumination, Ambient light in the front and rear, as well as an integrated light strip in the luggage compartment.

 Rear seat backrest adjustment enables the rear backrest to be folded down in a : split. The backrest can be reclined in  positions between  and  degrees.

Luxury rear storage bag provides additional storage space and can be secured to the rear seat using the centre seat belt.

Bicycle/E-bike holder for the tow bar.

 Automatic operation of the tailgate enables the tailgate to be opened remotely via the remote control, and closed via the tailgate button or the remote control.  Comfort Access makes it possible to open the two front doors and the luggage compartment without using the key. This equipment option also includes vicinity lighting in the exterior door handles at the front and rear, as well as contactless opening of the tailgate with a small foot movement under the rear bumper, at a distance of approx. cm.

 Two-part back shelf. The rear part opens automatically when the tailgate is opened. After it has been removed, the two-part back shelf can be easily stored under the ﬂoor of the luggage compartment (shown above).

Luxury ski and snowboard bag for clean transport of up to four pairs of skis or three snowboards. Can be secured using the fastening points in the luggage compartment.

Luxury backrest bag, for attaching to the back of the driver or front passenger seats. Can be folded up and easily carried.

 Aluminium luggage compartment rails (included in the storage package) with two adjustable fastening points on the ﬂoor of the luggage compartment for conveniently transporting bulky items.

 Personal Proﬁle saves all the driver’s personal settings in the car key. When the key is used to unlock the car, that person’s settings, such as for the driver seat, exterior mirror position and automatic air conditioning (temperature and air distribution) are automatically restored.

As soon as the CBS sensors detect a service requirement, the vehicle will initiate an automatic BMW Teleservice call and transmit all service-related data – which previously had to be collected in the workshop. Your service consultant will then call you back to arrange an appointment. As vehicle information is transferred in advance, time in the workshop can be spent more efﬁciently, and your BMW will be back on the road more quickly. In the unlikely event of a breakdown, BMW Teleservice Diagnosis enables you to transmit vehicle and location data directly to BMW breakdown assistance.
