With BMW ConnectedDrive Services*, you can stay connected with everything that’s important to you and the people you care about. Each and every function is designed to improve your overall driving experience. BMW ConnectedDrive Services provide access to an astonishing array of services and apps – such as Facebook, web radio, a dictation function and much, much more. You can personalise the connectivity of your BMW according to your own requirements. The ConnectedDrive Services form the basis for optional equipment such as Online Entertainment, the Concierge Service, Internet access and Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI).
BMW ONLINE. BMW Online is part of the BMW ConnectedDrive Services option. This portal gives you access to a wide range of current, localised information inside your car, divided into categories such as news, weather, travel, info and office. As well as a search engine based on the Google™ Local Search, this service also includes customised stock market and weather information, as well as a personal email account. The BMW Browser apps in the Applications menu also allow you to combine individual services and features.

Remote Services* enable you to control various car functions from a distance. For example, you can remotely operate the auxiliary heating. Functions can be activated and deactivated using the My BMW Remote app. Addresses found using Google™ Local Search can be transmitted directly to the navigation system. You can display your car’s location within a . km radius. The car can be locked and unlocked by calling the BMW call centre. Remote services are only available in conjunction with BMW ConnectedDrive Services.

Concierge Service* connects you with a BMW call centre operator at the push of a button. With Real Time Traffic Information (RTTI)*, you will benefit from a personalised traffic scout that monitors traffic conditions on motorways, dual carriages and country roads as well as plenty of city routes and potential detour routes. You will always be up to date with precise traffic information and potential detour routes throughout your journey. Remote services are only available in conjunction with BMW ConnectedDrive Services.

INTELLIGENT EMERGENCY CALL.
If a serious accident takes place and the airbag is released or the belt tensioner is activated, the intelligent emergency call* automatically sets off an alarm. Via a built-in SIM card, rescue details such as the exact position of the vehicle, information about the severity of the accident and possible injury risks of the passengers, will be transmitted to the BMW call centre. The BMW call centre will inform the nearest rescue coordination centre and will supervise the accident victims over the phone until the rescue service arrives. The emergency call can also be triggered manually, in case other road users require help.

CONVENIENCE TELEPHONY WITH EXTENDED SMARTPHONE USB/AUDIO CONNECTIVITY. INTERFACE. The convenient call function with extended smartphone connection enables you to wirelessly connect your Bluetooth-compatible mobile phone to your car and the hands-free kit. The sound quality can be improved by connecting to the external aerial using a snap-in adapter. You can also connect data storage devices via USB and use the car’s controls to play audio files over the sound system.
The USB/audio interface enables you to connect a MP player, MTP player, Apple iPod/iPhone or USB stick to the car. This interface makes it easy to play audio files from your mobile phone or MP player using the car’s sound system. You can operate the sound system using the iDrive Controller, the functional bookmarks or the multifunction buttons on the steering wheel.

FULL-COLOUR BMW HEAD-UP DISPLAY. The full-colour BMW Head-Up Display projects relevant driving information directly into your field of vision, allowing you to fully concentrate on driving. Depending on the vehicle’s equipment, this could include information supplied by the navigation system, as well as Speed Limit Info incl. no-overtaking indicator notifications or Check Control messages. Furthermore, you can also display infotainment information such as radio station details and song title information, along with phone-book entries and call lists. The icons projected onto your windscreen are displayed in a particularly high resolution, so that traffic symbols are depicted in a highly realistic manner. Ergonomically speaking, the information appears at a particularly convenient position on the windscreen, which you can adjust to suit your height. The information displayed via the full-colour BMW Head-Up Display is difficult to view when wearing polarised sunglasses. The illumination intensity is automatically modified to suit the external light conditions and the system also features night-time and day-time modes. The brightness setting can be configured via the iDrive menu. You can also select which additional information you wish to have displayed, on top of the current speed and warnings from the driver assistance systems.

BMW NIGHT VISION WITH DYNAMIC LIGHT SPOTS.
BMW Night Vision with Dynamic Light Spots can detect people and larger animals at night – even at a significant distance – and illuminates them. An infrared camera mounted on the BMW kidney grille transmits images of people and animals up to three hundred metres ahead of the car directly onto the Control Display. Intelligent early warning system with a bright outlook: As soon as the infrared sensors detect pedestrians or larger animals on a potential collision course in the dark, the system directs two separately controllable Dynamic Light Spots onto them, without any unpleasant dazzling effect. This light ensures that both you and the person are very effectively warned of a potentially hazardous situation. You’ll also receive additional warnings on the full-colour BMW Head-Up Display or on the Multifunctional Instrument Display if the thermal imaging display has been activated. If there is an acute risk of a collision, an acoustic alarm is sounded and the brakes are prepared for imminent action.

The High-Beam Assistant features two settings and helps you at night by automatically switching to low beam when there is oncoming traffic or other cars ahead, or when the road is sufficiently illuminated.
A camera detects speed limits indicated on road signs and gantrymounted speed limit indicators, compares them with data from the navigation system and displays the correct speed limit in the cockpit. So you’ll always be aware of the current speed limit and any overtaking restrictions. This information can be shown in the instrument cluster or the (optional) full-colour BMW Head-up Display. This system also detects additional traffic information, such wet weather restrictions, and indicates these to the driver if necessary. With the Rear View camera, you can easily keep an eye on what’s behind you when manoeuvring at low speeds. A clear image of the area behind the car is shown on the Control Display. The Rear View camera provides you with enhanced visibility when reversing at speeds below km/h, for example when parking. For models with a tow bar, the Rear View camera comes with an extended zoom function.
The Rear View camera with Top View uses three cameras in the exterior mirrors and at the rear for a perfect view of the area behind and either side of the car. While parking your car, you’ll see a bird’s-eye view in the Control Display showing the exact vehicle position. So you can keep an eye on road markings and any hidden obstacles.

See what’s coming towards you from either side: Side View features two cameras in the front bumper which give you a overview of the area to the left and right of the car’s front. This enables you to see oncoming traffic earlier when you are entering or exiting a narrow driveway or side street. The yellow line shows you how far you can advance onto the road without obstructing other cars.
Surround View includes the Rear View camera with Top View and Side View. Top View provides a picture of the side and back door areas of the car for more comfortable manoeuvring. Side View enables early visibility of vehicles on driveways or side streets with reduced visibility. The image is displayed on the Control Display.

PARK DISTANCE CONTROL (PDC).
PARK ASSISTANT.
Parking and manoeuvring in confined spaces made easy. The Park Distance Control (PDC) at the front and/or rear takes ultrasound measurements of the distance to any obstacles, gives you an acoustic warning and shows this distance on the Control Display.
The Park Assistant makes it easier to parallel park in roadside spaces. When activated, it measures potential spaces as you drive past a row of parked cars at low speed (below km/h). Once a large enough space has been found, the Park Assistant takes over the steering while you support the manoeuvre by working the accelerator and brake pedal. Depending on the model, the acceleration and braking takes place completely automatically once the Park Assistant button is held down. Instructions in the Control Display and acoustic signals provide further assistance during the parking manoeuvre. The result: parking is less stressful and safer than ever.

The Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go function, incl. camera based Approach Warning with braking function, provides you with increased comfort and even greater safety in dense traffic. In addition, the system permanently measures the distance to the vehicles in front and maintains a preselected distance. When the lane is free again, the system accelerates to the desired speed. The camera based Approach Warning with braking function helps you respond to sudden critical situations, thereby increasing driving safety.
Fast and convenient operation via the multifunction steering wheel.
At speeds above around km/h, the Lane Departure Warning incl. camera-based Approach Warning registers the lane markings ahead up to a distance of metres. If your car is in danger of crossing a marking, you will be promptly warned by means of a gentle vibration in the steering wheel. The Lane Change Warning detects vehicles in your blind spot when you indicate a lane change. If it is unsafe to change lanes, you will be alerted by a steering wheel vibration and a visual warning on the cover of the exterior mirror.

DRIVING ASSISTANT.
The Driving Assistant combines the camera-based Lane Departure Warning and Approach Warning systems. At speeds above approx. km/h, the system warns you via a light vibration of the steering wheel if the car unintentionally leaves its lane.

In the event of a critical pre-crash driving situation, the seat belts on the front seats are tightened, and the side windows and sunroof (if present) are closed. Active Protection detects the threat of a collision via the front camera or front radar, if you initiate all-out braking or your car shows strong signs of understeering or oversteering. If a crash is unavoidable, the system applies the vehicle’s brakes automatically without any action on the part of the driver. With a maximum deceleration of m/s , the vehicle is brought to a standstill after the crash and its brakes blocked for another . seconds. This helps to reduce the possibility of a second collision, or even prevent it altogether.
The Attentiveness Assistant which is part of the Active Protection preventative safety concept, monitors your driving behaviour for signs of tiredness in order to avoid danger. The system analyses your steering response and reacts to irregular driving behaviour by issuing a notification on the Control Display suggesting you take a break.
If the system detects a potential collision it immediately tensions the seat belts on the front seats and closes the side windows and, if necessary, the sunroof to reduce the risk of injury.

The interior and exterior mirrors feature an automatic, infinitely variable anti-glare function that removes glare beyond a certain light intensity. This equipment also features the mirror memory function, which automatically adjusts the interior and exterior mirror settings to suit the current driver, as well as the automatic parking function. Innovative and easy to operate — Comfort Access, including contactless opening of the tailgate, allows you to open the doors of your car and start the engine without having to use the car key. The key, which may be in your trouser pocket or briefcase, is automatically recognised as soon as you approach your car. Once the door has been automatically unlocked, you can get in and start the engine by pressing the Start/Stop button. This optional equipment includes contactless opening of the tailgate. Depending on the model, the DVD changer is either integrated into the glove compartment or the luggage compartment.
TV FUNCTION.
The TV function enables you to use the Control Display as a fully functional TV set when the car is at a standstill. MASSAGE FUNCTION.
The active seat function for the driver and front passenger help to prevent muscle fatigue during long drives. Slight alternating up/down movements of the seat surface mobilise the pelvis and spine, making your body feel fit and relaxed.
Rear passengers can enjoy a soothing massage provided by pulsating massage buds in the rear seat surfaces. This function assists with muscle relaxation, so passengers will benefit from a more comfortable seating experience while they read or take care of work during long drives. This massage feature has already received the “Society of Automotive Engineering Award”.

The through-loading system includes: a dividable rear seat backrest ( : : or : split) for more transport options and a greater range of seat and luggage compartment configurations, as well as a rear centre armrest with integrated storage compartment and two cup holders. A suitable ski and snowboard bag is available from the Original BMW Accessories range.
The dividing net for the luggage compartment prevents any loose items from entering the passenger area when braking. Depending on the model, it can be pulled out from a roller cassette and affixed to the hooks on the headliner.

The ski and snowboard bag enables clean and safe transportation of up to four pairs of skis or three snowboards with up to four people on board. The bag can be easily removed and used outside the car. When not in use, it can be compactly stored inside an additional bag (also included). The Pro version can be extended by up to centimetres and comes with additional inner and outer pockets for small items.
The ski bag is stored out of sight behind the rear centre armrest and can easily be pulled out of the opening inside the car. It can be removed for cleaning and used to safely and cleanly transport up to four pairs of skis, while still leaving room for four passengers.
The ball head of the tow bar can be electronically folded away under the rear apron. If the trailer stability control detects that the trailer is swaying dangerously, it automatically applies the car brakes to stabilise it.

The roof railing opens up additional transport options and comes in a variety of colours, such as aluminium and black, for even greater personalisation.
