OUR GOALS

OUR OBJECTIVES

The three goals of Evangelisation Broken Bay are derived from Bishop Anthony’s six pastoral priorities as articulated in the Bishop’s Pastoral Letter Jesus Christ, our beginning and end. The goals are our response to how we intend to incorporate Bishop Anthony’s priorities as his evangelisation team.

These objectives support our efforts to form a key part of what we seek to achieve.

The focus areas of each of our teams in Evangelisation Broken Bay outlined in the following pages, work together toward our goals. Evangelisation Broken Bay supports and resources clergy, parishes, communities of faith, schools, social services and our Diocesan colleagues to:

Research, create and produce relevant resources and documents that aid our Broken Bay community in Evangelisation.

Provide pathways of genuine encounter with the person of Jesus and form disciples of Christ. That, through the Holy Spirit, people may be on fire with the love of God and empowered for mission.

Build a united community under the care of the Bishop where people can discern and live their call, understanding who they are and what they believe as a community of the Church.

Draw all people into the flourishing of human life by promoting the common good, paying specific attention to those who are poor and vulnerable. This is underpinned by the understanding that the universal good for all humanity is the Good News of Jesus Christ.

And he said to them, ‘Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation.’ (MK 16:15)

As many of you as were baptised into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male and female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus. (G A L 3: 27-28)

1 Adopt a ‘community-centred’ focus by enhancing relationships and collaborating more effectively across our community.

2

Implement Synodal processes that support the community to be guided by the Holy Spirit; to listen, dialogue and journey forward together.

3

4

Foster a culture of safety for children, the young and vulnerable people in parishes, schools, and the broader community.

5

I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

(J N 10:10)

Build internal capability and capacity to deliver our services more efficiently and effectively.
