Working together to present music by Sergei Rachmaninov across Cardiff Gweithio gyda’n gilydd i gyflwyno cerddoriaeth gan Sergei Rachmaninov ledled Caerdydd
It’s sometimes hard to fully realise what’s on our doorstep. But with three exceptional concert halls, two great orchestras, and an international concert series attracting the world’s finest orchestras, and much more – Cardiff really is a world-class centre for classical music. To celebrate this and to encourage as many people as possible to enjoy what’s on offer, Cardiff’s orchestras and concert halls are coming together to stage a city-wide festival. Cardiff Rachmaninov spans three months this autumn and offers an opportunity to lose yourself in the Romantic, beautiful and haunting music of this much-loved Russian composer. You will have the opportunity to experience his most popular works or you can seize the opportunity to sample some of his lesser known gems. It’s entirely up to you what you choose to see. Whatever you choose, we hope you’ll agree Cardiff is a very special place for classical music.
Weithiau mae’n anodd gweld yr hyn sydd ar garreg ein drws. Mae Caerdydd yn ganolfan o safon fyd-eang i gerddoriaeth glasurol – gyda thair neuadd gyngerdd ragorol, dwy gerddorfa wych a chyfres o gyngherddau rhyngwladol sy’n denu cerddorfeydd gorau’r byd, a llawer mwy. I ddathlu hyn ac i annog cymaint o bobl â phosib i fwynhau’r hyn sydd ar gael, mae cerddorfeydd a neuaddau cyngerdd Caerdydd yn dod ynghyd i lwyfannu gwˆ yl ar draws y ddinas. Mae gwˆ yl Rachmaninov Caerdydd yn cael ei chynnal dros gyfnod o dri mis ac yn rhoi cyfle i chi ymgolli yng ngherddoriaeth Ramantaidd, hyfryd a swynol y cyfansoddwr poblogaidd hwn o Rwsia. Cewch gyfle i glywed ei weithiau mwyaf poblogaidd neu gallwch fachu ar y cyfle i brofi rhai o’i gampweithiau llai adnabyddus. Eich penderfyniad chi yw’r hyn y dewiswch ei wylio. Beth bynnag fyddwch chi’n ei ddewis, gobeithiwn y byddwch chi’n cytuno bod Caerdydd yn lle arbennig iawn i glywed cerddoriaeth glasurol.

Mae’n berfformiwr meistrolgar a grymus a phwerus, ac mae ganddo hefyd ddigonedd o gynildeb a mewnwelediad, ac yn y rhaglen hon – sy’n gosod darnau hyfryd prin gan Grieg ochr yn ochr â Seithfed Sonata drydannol Prokofiev – bydd yn chwarae’r gerddoriaeth sydd wrth galon ei fywyd artistig.
