Mahogany Springs – Batwa/Pygmies, Fly-in Safaris and more… 2013 has got to off a flying start for Mahogany Springs and Bwindi. The Aerolink flights are becoming more and more popular and have opened up a market for clients that never would have previously found the time to come and see the Gorillas. AFTER THE SUCCESS OF OUR LAST 2 FAM TRIPS WE HAVE 2 MORE COMING UP IN APRIL AND MAY, PLEASE CONTACT US FOR MORE DETAILS… Mahogany Springs has ensured that they have made improvements in order to service this influx of clients. Most notably the recent purchase of a Land Cruiser for picking up clients from the airstrip and taking them further afield for drop-offs in Queen Elizabeth and even Kibale. We now have clients flying in almost daily. The massage service at Mahogany Springs has really taken off. We have a qualified masseuse who offers a full Body, head or foot massage. These take place on a portable massage table in the comfort of the client’s room. After the massage the client can simply roll into bed or step into the shower without worrying about having to step outside and walk back to the room. Prices start from $40 and can be booked at the lodge. Very exciting news – The Batwa/Pygmy tribe are working EXCLUSIVELY with Mahogany Springs to provide an evening show for clients staying with us. This lasts around one hour and involves the clients sat outside (weather permitting) and hearing a small talk from one of the Batwa elders about their culture and then watching them dance with some of the Mahogany staff getting involved, if you are lucky they will even demonstrate how they make fire. All the clients/agents that have experienced this event at Mahogany Springs have raved about how incredible and special it is. This has to be booked direct with Mahogany Springs when booking accommodation and is not open to clients staying at any other lodges. The prices are on the attached email. This is a non-profit offer and Mahogany Springs is now putting some Batwa children through school. There is a small video attached to this email which shows this taking place at Mahogany Springs. This is a genuine half day experience which involves walking up to The Batwa village, meeting the elders, hearing stories, learning about their culture, cooking and hunting techniques. This is a fantastic experience and all the Mahogany Springs clients have been raving about it. It can be booked through Mahogany Springs when booking a room or direct at the lodge when the clients arrive. Pre-booking is THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT – MAHOGANY SPRINGS. recommended.
