Putting a modern twist on a backwoods tradition, the Okie Noodling Tournament, Festival & Fish Fry is a one-of-akind event in Pauls Valley. The catfish capturing festival has been the subject of a documentary and numerous television specials. The Purcell winery uses locally-grown grapes as well as varietals from around the world to produce flavor sensations unique to Chickasaw Country. Celebrating the Oklahoma Land Run of 1889, the Lexington 89er Festival features a parade, rodeo, carnival, gun fighting demonstrations and more. While already a stunning event venue with a rustic barn and
surrounding forests, Southwind Hills recently added a spectacular chapel that presents a more intimate ceremony on a grand scale. Recreating a 14th century English market, Ada's Medieval Fair offers jousting, knight demonstrations, bonny maidens hawking wares and dramatic Shakespearean stage productions. Vendors offer any thing from feudal food and Gothic garb to magical amulets and leather goods. Nestled just south of the Canadian River, Big Creek Events is a unique space of design, media and old-world charm. Healdton Oil Museum Catch a glimpse into the early oil days through an array of fascinating exhibits featuring artifacts such as equipment, photographs and tools. The Healdton Oil Museum pays tribute to one of the largest oil booms in Oklahoma - the Healdton Boom of 1913.
The Parlor
History abounds in this funeral home turned museum in Ryan. Featuring a collection of historical items like Chickasaw Nation court records, The Parlor has newspapers dating back to 1892, as well as area birth records, including that of actor Chuck Norris, who was born Carlos Ray Norris in Ryan, in 1940.
Oil Field Days
Held every year since 1940 to commemorate Healdton's history at the forefront of one of Oklahoma's greatest oil booms, this festival includes a parade down Main Street, a classic cars and motorcycles show, arts and crafts booths, food and is capped off with two days of Oil Field Days Rodeo!
Waurika Rattlesnake Hunt
Celebrating more than 50 years of hunts, the annual Waurika Rattlesnake Hunt is sure to thrill all ages with carnival rides, food vendors and flea markets. Not for the faint of heart, also featured is a live rattlesnake photo booth, where the particularly daring can get a photo with one of the thousands of snakes that slither into the festival each year. If running from snakes is more your style, check out the 5k and the 1 mile fun run!
Wilson Historical Museum

A repository for oil boom and railroad relics, the Historical Museum focuses on the history of Wilson and surrounding oil communities. The museum features period furnishings and copies of nearly every Wilson newspaper printed. The building was constructed in 1926 and is one of the oldest surviving Wilson structures.

Healdton Lake (above) is a bass fishing hotspot that boasts seven miles of shoreline and more than 340 surface acres of water. Waurika Lake (below) is located on Beaver Creek, a tributary of the Red River. Spanning three counties, the fishing and hunting opportunities abound with targets including whitetail deer, quail, cottontail rabbit, wild turkey and numerous other waterfowl species. There are six recreation areas with more than 300 campsites located around the lake's 80 miles of shoreline. With more than 10,000 surface acres of water, you'll be sure to make the big catch at Waurika Lake!
