Wall climbing, battle beams, warrior courses, trampolines and more can be found at this hot, new attraction. If artistry is more to your liking, enjoy a theatrical production or band performance at the Goddard Center including the Bolshoi Ballet and Metropolitan Opera. Originally built as a movie set, Sipokni West captures the spirit of the Wild West with cattle punching cowboys, gun smoke, dance hall girls and live gunfights every third Saturday during the summer. Take a trip down military road by visiting Fort Washita in Durant. GET LOST IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION The grass is definitely greener in Chickasaw Country and the northeast is no exception. Visitors can board the AMTRAK Heartland Flyer and watch the beautiful scenery unfold outside their window. Rail service is offered twice, daily taking you from Oklahoma to Texas with stops in Norman, Purcell, Pauls Valley, Ardmore and Gainsville - luckily, three of the five stops are located in Chickasaw Country and two of those are right here in the northeast region! Head into downtown Pauls Valley for some sightseeing and bargain shopping. Visit the Santa Fe Depot Museum or become a jackpot hopeful at Jet Stream Casino. If you brought a furry family member (of the four-legged kind), let them stretch their legs at Paws Valley Dog Park for a leash-free experience with secure entrances and other dog agility amenities. Participate in some of our favorite summertime events including the Okie Noodling Festival held every June at Wacker Park in Pauls Valley. This festival and (catfish) fishing tournament is the only one of its kind with a wide variety of vendors, games and live music.

1 Watch as contestants weigh-in the dayâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s catch for a chance to win cash prizes in different categories - 2018â&#x20AC;&#x2122;s big winner tipped the scales at 58.25 pounds! Held on the third weekend in July since 1976, the Stratford Peach Festival offers family-friendly activities, food and craft vendors, carnival rides, a car show, rodeo and 5k making it one of the biggest and best festivals in the region. Block off the last weekend in August and join thousands of others for AdaFest. This festival is a celebration of the arts featuring food trucks, kid-friendly play areas, local vendors and live music across nine different stages all day long. This monster music festival raises awareness to the Arts District of Ada and generates close to $1 million in revenue for the Ada economy.

The fun doesn’t stop in Chickasaw Country and pleasure; be sure to take a selfie with the we’ve got loads of activities to keep you busy in the Butterfly Mandala, a mural by Oklahoma Artist, Rick Sinnett, and tag #VisitChickasaw in your northeast. The historic McSwain Theatre is an iconic family post to help us share these exciting finds in destination bringing a wide variety of entertainment Chickasaw Country! to the Ada area including live music, family performances, children’s shows and classic films at a bargain rate. If you’re feeling fast and furious, check out Oklahoma Sports Park. This track is 4/10 of a mile and hosts annual national stock car racing events every Saturday (weather permitting) from March 31 to the end of October, in Ada. Switching gears from dirt tracks to watering holes, the northeast is packed with aquatic fun! With at least three water parks to choose from, the whole family can splash around from Ada to Pauls Valley starting late spring into early fall at the Glenwood or Wintersmith Aquatic Centers and Pauls Valley Water Park.

Take a trip to Paoli and visit Washita Casino or check out Lazer Zone Family Fun Center in Ada. This attraction includes 60,000 square feet of exciting activities including a 24-lane blacklight bowling alley, two-story laser tag arena, batting cages and more. Another Ada hotspot is Waddell Vineyards, serving up award-winning wines that can be sampled inside their tasting room overlooking six acres of lush, grape fields with more than 4,000 vines and 20 different varietals. IT’S BA D M A NNERS TO KEEP A VACATION WAITING Exciting things happen in the northwest and we’d love to share some of our favorite past times with you! Choose between four different casinos: Riverwind, Newcastle, Chisholm Trail or SaltCreek (or hit them all!) and test your luck with Vegas-style gaming and live entertainment on the weekends. For kid-friendly entertainment, check out The Alley Entertainment Center for some old-fashioned bowling in Blanchard or take a tour of Braum’s Family Farm in Tuttle. Free guided tours of the Processing Plant and Bakery are available along with sweet, mouth-watering samples of Braum’s Ice Cream! Double up on your ice cream intake by planning your visit around the annual Tuttle Ice Cream Festival every June. Annual events are a common thing in Chickasaw Country and something locals look forward to all year long. Celebrate the town that inspired the 1984 movie, “Footloose”, with a trip to Elmore City. The Footloose Festival is held every April and commemorates the infamous, 1980 prom that ended the ban on dancing

1 and inspired an entire town to get up and boogie! Another local favorite is the Chickasha Festival of Light kicking off every November. This winter wonderland is consistently named one of the top 10 holiday light shows in the nation with more than 3.5 million lights and a 172-foot Christmas tree and Ferris wheel that can be seen from miles around! Also in Chickasha is the Reding Farm Maze, open every fall from September to November. With more than 35 acres of corn maze to get lost in, this attraction is kid-friendly with haunted hayrides, a petting zoo, full concession stand and live music most weekends. There’s a lot to do here in the northwest section of Chickasaw Country and these suggestions are just the tip of the iceberg. Start packing your bags and we’ll see you soon!

OUR BACK YAR D IS YOUR PL AYGROU ND With so many things to see and do here in Chickasaw Country, it can be hard to pick a route; but, worry not, we’ve highlighted a few ideas for you to consider! Located in Blanchard, Winter Creek Golf & Country Club is consistently ranked as one of the best courses in Oklahoma with unique challenges for every skill level. Settled on a century-old dairy farm, Muscle Car Ranch (MCR) in Chickasha, is home to a neon and porcelain sign museum, open air displays of rare muscle cars, bikes and automobile folk art. MCR is also home to Twister Fest; a three-day music festival held every June. Also in Chickasha, the Chief Drive-In Theatre is a great place for a classic, good time. Locally referred to as “The Chief,” this Oklahoma drive-in is one of the last still in operation and has been keeping families entertained since 1949. Before leaving town, take the kids to Lake Chickasha for a day of swimming, skiing and fishing! Heck, you may even want to spend a night or two - we hear the campgrounds and guest amenities are some of the best around! If it’s not swimming weather, the kids can enjoy indoor recreation at Zippety’s Lazer World with laser tag, arcades, pool tables and more!

Down the road is Rush Springs; home of the Watermelon Festival (August) and Bound’s Farms. This local farmers’ market provides a variety of seasonal and locally-grown produce including a retail space with funky antiques and specialty food items like those tasty Rush Springs watermelons we all love! Not far from there is Generations Golf Course in Marlow. This public, 18-hole course features wellgroomed greens and fairways and the perfect opportunity for a hole-in-one. At the southern tip of the northwest region, you’ll find Fuqua Park in Duncan. Located within the park is the Rock Island 905 Railroad Depot including a museum, giftshop and repository dedicated to all things ‘railroad.’ Take a selfie inside a real, steam locomotive - be sure to tag us in your posts #VisitChickasaw! When you exit the caboose, head over to the Chisholm Trail Heritage Center for an interactive museum experience highlighting the famous Chisholm Trail of the 1800s. Your little ones will enjoy the engaging exhibits and 4D theater!

From Interstate 35, take Exit 42 onto OK Highway 53 West and turn north onto Pioneer Road (formerly Pitt Road). Place your car in neutral at the bottom of the hill and experience the magnetic pull as your car rolls backward, uphill at more than 30mph. Urban legends and local folklore blame this mysterious phenomenon on ghostly beings, meteorites and magnetic currents; however, no one really knows for sure.

With more than 300 campsites and 10,000 surface acres of water, Waurika Lake is a local favorite for outdoor enthusiasts. Cast your reel, hunt for waterfowl and learn to ski with some of the best; the memories are yours for the taking. The Waurika Rock Island Depot welcomes visitors of all ages to delve into the past. Built in 1912, this century-old attraction showcases Italian marble floors, the original ticket office and an artifact room. This facility is also home to the Waurika Public Library. Another historical attraction found in the southwest is the Wilson Historical Museum, featuring period furnishings and copies of almost every newspaper printed in Wilson. This museum acts as a repository for oil boom and railroad relics.

Located in Ringling and considered a hidden paradise, Mudcreek Outfitters specializes in hog, turkey and deer hunts across 1,200 acres of wood and prairie land and is the ideal setting for any outdoor adventure. For more in the way of outdoor recreation, check out Healdton Municipal Lake. With seven miles of shoreline, visitors have access to a variety of amenities including boat docks, ramps, picnic areas, group facilities and more. This bass fishing hotspot is great for water sports, trail hiking and camping with paved pads and RV hookups. Visitors can skip the lake and hit the greens if they want at Healdtonâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Oilfield Recreation Association Golf Course. This privately owned, 9-hole, regulation golf course was designed by Floyd Farley and established in 1955. Rent a golf cart or hangout at the clubhouse, either way we hope you relax and enjoy a day of recreational play!
