Welcome to the holiday season at the Club! It is amazing how the Summer and Fall seasons have gone by, and now we are on the brink of a most wonderful time of year. May I wish you and your families a very happy and healthy holiday season. Hopefully, we will have many of our Club Members and families on Cape to enjoy the
upcoming events at the Club and to share time with friends. Thanksgiving is a special time and truly a blessed occasion when shared with family Our culinary team has prepared a spectacular feast for those who are attending in person. However, there is also a great take-away option that Chef Phil has prepared to take the stress out of the day! Additionally, there are a number of culinary events that you don’t want to miss! Murder Mystery dinner on the 2nd of November, special Sunday Roasts in Bayzo’s Pub from 2 PM to 8 PM, as well as Prime Rib in Roscommon every Wednesday Night! If you haven’t had the chance to enjoy the many special events, as well as take a look at all the holiday special events taking place, please be sure to explore the website and the weekly eblasts that come out every Friday.
There have also been a few additions to the holiday celebrations this year for the Club, including our Holiday Reception in the Carriage House on Saturday, December 14th, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. This social event is meant to be a more casual, cocktail party with heavy hors d’oeuvres, geared more towards mingling with your fellow Members to celebrate the season

As we wrap up the season, I wanted to take a moment to update you on our recent achievements and outline our goals moving forward. Last month, we discussed the steps we ’ re taking to improve turf quality, address drainage, and enhance the course ’ s playability. I’m happy to report that we ’ re making steady progress on these goals, thanks to the hard work of our grounds team and the support of our member community.
he past few weeks, has already begun showing results in cess removes thatch, alleviates soil compaction, and promotes carry into next year, reinforcing the turf’s ability to handle stress and provide consistent playing conditions.
Looking ahead to 2025, we’ll continue working on key projects, including: Enhanced Drainage Systems: To reduce water retention in problem areas and maintain playability during wet weather.
Turf Improvements: Expanding our seeding and sodding efforts in weaker areas and continuing fairway aeration and verticutting to boost turf density.
Wetlands Project: Further planting and habitat support to ensure sustainability and environmental integrity
Ongoing Irrigation Audit: This will allow us to refine water usage for optimal turf health and conservation

It’s hard to believe the holidays are here and 2025 is just around the corner. We still have a full fitness class schedule and love seeing our members utilizing the facilities, even personal training online!
Last week I was asked how to not overindulge over the holidays and keep your fitness goals on track. It’s very tempting to skip breakfast, even lunch, and wait for the big meal. This is how you end up filling your plate and overeating. Have a balanced breakfast and you won’t slow your metabolism down and it will aid in portion control. Drink plenty of water throughout the day, especially right before and during your meal. To burn off those extra calories, plan to keep moving throughout the day whether it be a pre or post-dinner walk, gym workout, or fitness class.
Thanksgiving is a time for celebration, family, and of course, delicious food. It is a time of reflection and gratitude, and we are very grateful for YOU! Our members are what makes the Ocean Edge Club so special. From all of us at the MSC, Happy Thanksgiving!

TURKEY QUESADILLAS WITH CRANBERRY SALSA
What do you do with Thanksgiving leftovers? Well, here is one of my favorites from Taste of Home.com It goes well with chicken or pork too!! Enjoy!
DIRECTIONS
INGREDIENTS
3/4 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup water
1 small pear, chopped
1/4 cup chopped red onion
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped
3 tablespoons chopped celery
2 teaspoons grated lemon zest
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
4 flour tortillas (6 inches)
2 cups cubed cooked turkey breast
1 cup shredded reduced-fat white or yellow cheddar cheese

For salsa, in a small saucepan, combine cranberries, sugar and water; bring to a boil Reduce heat to medium; cook, uncovered, until berries pop, about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally Remove from heat; cool slightly Stir in pear, onion, jalapeno, celery, lemon zest and juice, and cumin
1 Preheat griddle over medium heat Top one half of each tortilla with 1/2 cup turkey; sprinkle with 1/4 cup cheese Fold tortilla to close Cook on griddle until golden brown and cheese is melted, 1-2 minutes per side Serve with salsa
