Meeting Called to Order

The Chairperson, Dave Clarke, calls the meeting to order at 11:05am.

Old Business & Updates 

Food & Cafeteria  Ed Lau will be arranging a take-out order once a week thru e-mail. Students must pre-order and pay.  Cafeteria cleanliness has been an issue and Dave has spoken with the Supervisor.  Please talk to you classmates and remind them to pick up after themselves.

Recreation equipment  Ping Pong and tennis equipment in stores  Pool cues coming and will be available thru stores ATC Graduation Ceremonies o Still in discussions Colour Printer o It was brought up with Lindsey and they are working on one.

ATC New Student Orientation will be September 11 o Volunteers may be needed o Looking for ideas to spice up orientation BCIT students now have a 10% discount on food items at Pier 73 when they show their student card.

Chair will look into acquiring a new coupon kiosk machine that the main campus will be getting Note: Dave’s office hours are usually 10:30-11::30 and 2:30-3:00 New Business

Student Representative Concerns & Comments   

Students request that Financial Aid return to visiting ATC in person monthly and/or extend their hours.

Students want more information on bursaries, scholarships, and awards.

There is a request for a fan in the gym Events

Volleyball Net Issue o Dave received a complaint Monday morning as well as others from Management complaining of the cleanliness and cigarette butts in the volleyball area. o Cigarette butts need to be cleaned up by Monday, July 23rd, and kept clean, or we will not be able to have the volleyball net up anymore.

Meeting with Uconnect Manager, Catherine Warren o She visited ATC and wants to gain more services for ATC students o Peer Tutors (especially levels 4 & 6 and English language) will be made available o Freebies like lanyards, condoms…etc. o More retail will be stocked in the office o Ordering more ATC sweatshirts and lanyards

Abbotsford Airshow in August- Maximum Altitude has discounted tickets, $25 for non-members and $20 for members. They are always looking for new members.

The SA hygienist will be at ATC every Tuesday for teeth cleaning that is covered under the Student Health Plan for all Full-time BCIT students.
