Meeting Called to Order

The Chairperson, Dave Clarke, calls the meeting to order at 11:10am. 3.2.

Old Business & Updates 

ATC Chopper Challenge is clear for take-off o Tomorrow is the Chopper Challenge in the HUB – still a few spots left o Come participate & cheer them on! o Great prizes!!! Executive Meeting last week went well o Lots of Support for ATC o 2 other executives will be attending the Chopper Challenge Recreation equipment  New Tennis equipment and soccer balls now available ATC Graduation Ceremonies o VP of Student Services has been notified of issue and seems supportive. U-Pass is in Negotiations o Negotiations between Translink, the schools involved, and the Student Associations o Prices will most likely increase. If this occurs there will be a referendum o More information should be available in the next month or two. o Dorset College students will not be eligible for a BCIT U-Pass until they become full time BCIT students, they need to lobby Dorset College to opt in with Translink themselves ATC Orientation will be September 11 o Volunteers may be needed o Looking for ideas to spice up orientation BCIT students now have a 10% discount on food items at Pier 73 when they show their student card.

Students still would like the addition of low cost options at the cafeteria such as hot dogs and ice cream Students are considering other food options such as ordering from local restaurants or having a BBQ, Ed Lau said he was willing to organise group orders Question as to if BCIT is profit sharing from Chartwells? Issues with the lack of cafeteria cleanliness There is a lack of air conditioning in the library Would like a follow-up on the need for a colour printer Events

Chair will look into acquiring a new coupon kiosk machine that the main campus will be getting Note: Dave’s office hours are usually 10:30-11::30 and 2:30-3:00

ATC Chopper Challenge o Time is July 5th 10am-1pm. “Like” our BCITSA Facebook page to be entered to win our monthly giveaway! Boundary Bay Airshow in July – FREE- may need to volunteer Abbotsford Airshow in August- Maximum Altitude has discounted tickets, $25 for non-members and $20 for members. They are always looking for new members. BCITSA info

The SA hygienist will be at ATC every Tuesday for teeth cleaning that is covered under the Student Health Plan for all Full-time BCIT students.
