the creation of Open House 2012 information material; assisting with the distribution of Open House packages to all BC High Schools; contact high school counselors or administrators for follow-up after registration has taken place; working in conjunction with BCIT advisors and staff to promote BCIT Open House in BC schools; overseeing, organizing and managing all volunteer 'bus hoppers' for the day of the event; exploring need for on-site assistance for individuals with special needs. organizing bus parking and bus passes; organizing orientation sessions and tours for visiting students for April 13 and 14; Other duties as required.
Intermediate skills in MS Word and Excel or Access. Must also have good communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; strong time management and organizational skills; and, the ability to work under pressure. Must also be a team player.
Volunteers • establish a volunteer recruitment campaign • identify volunteer requirements for Open House • organize, train and oversee general volunteers through verbal presentations and information packages • organize any general volunteer meals during the event • implement a general volunteer recognition program • oversee scheduling of volunteers for the two day event; this position also assists the Open House student leaders with other duties as required. Must also have intermediate skills in MS Word and Excel or Access; strong communication and interpersonal skills; attention to detail; good time management and organizational skills; ability to work under pressure; and, is a team player.
