Meeting Called to order The meeting was called to order at 5:45pm by the Chairman, Brent Morris

14.2. Acceptance of the Agenda It was moved by Alfredo Rolando and seconded by Jessica Jensen that we add the 2 following items: 14.7.2. – Video Rental 14.8.1. – Students – Electronic Common Core Program.

14.3. Acceptance of the Minutes – March 18, 2002 It was moved by Jessica Jensen and seconded by Shannon Blackwood that the minutes of March 18, 2002 be accepted as read.

Marie Halfnights, VP Administration & Finance • Voting is well underway.

Jessica Jensen, Electrical/Electronics and CST Chair • Blood donor clinic is planned for April 11.

• Cut for the cure organized for April 5 with 5 participants.

• Visited the Langley Satellite Campus and met with the student to discuss about various issues.

Holly Cunningham, VP Campus Life • I worked on Open House with Alfredo.

Joel Peterson, VP Student Affairs • Norman Vabronski has been scheduled for May 8 at 12:00pm in the Great Hall.

• Dealing with various student issues.

• Cleaning SE 6 • Worked on Open House.

Alfredo Rolando, VP Public Relation & Marketing • Worked on Open House with Holly.

Richard Ewing, Business/ Health Chair • Richard proposed to bring a live band on campus.

Shannon Blackwood, Trades Chair • Skills Canada BC, May 29, 2002 at BC Place • Surrey students want to receive copies of the Link.

Question Period

14.7.

Unfinished Business 14.7.1 East Indian Dance Club Proposal - Joel The EIDC is not meeting the mandate that they had proposed to the SA. Joel sent them an e-mail on Wednesday March 27, stating SA’s discontentment with their activities.

Joel met with a representative of EIDC (Dave) in the Great Hall to advise them that their status would be revoked at the Council Meeting if they could not present proper documentation (dance lesson schedule, proof of fundraising initiatives, proof of charitable donation).

It was decided that their club status would be revoked.

Recommendations: SA stops renting movies to increase prime shelf spaces Sell all videos at clearance price

14.8. New Business 14.8.1 Election Date / Electronic Common Core Program – Brent A petition was brought forward by some students of the Electronic Common Core Program to extend elections dates (see attached). Brent is discussing with Val Karpinsky the ability to have Burnaby students ballots sent to satellite campuses.

After reviewing the SA Constitution (section 9.5.1) is was decided that dates would not be extended for this election.

The nest Council meeting is scheduled for Monday April 22, 2002 at 5:45 pm in the Council Chamber.
