 Advantages  

Information is available electronically. generation Y students feeling of ownership effort toward their writing skills in obtaining and evaluating information. teachable moments Students perceive a “cutting edge” factor.


 Disadvantages 

Uncomfortableness with blog technology

more work for the instructor

uncomfortable sharing information

Not understanding how to use the blog

writing might be more casual

Resistance if it is not part of their grade

Students may write what they think professor wants to see
