MEMORY CITY 2013 Open call im Kleiner Salon Introduction The BcmArte Cultural Association begins a thematic open call for artists living in Berlin. We are looking for artists because we want to organize a series of exhibitions and events during the year 2013 that present different perspectives and working methods but share a common theme.

Theme 2013 - Memory City We are looking for exhibitions or projects that work around the memory/city binomial concept. We are interested in art works that reect on the process of change in urban spaces and its effects on citizens, projects that work around our capacity of reading and understanding those urban spaces, of rebuilding them, projecting or making them disappear, of imagining them and remembering or telling them. The thematic is open and, although the main theme wants to work as a stimulus or reference for the artist, we will take into account all the presented projects.

Open call objective Receipt of artistic projects, both of already ďŹ nished projects and of proposals to realize projects at the Kleiner Salon during 2013. The open call offers both the physical space and the collaboration of the BcmArte Association in the development and diffusion of the works. Once ďŹ nished the annual project we will publish an online catalogue with all the participants, their works and contact information. Deadline All projects must be received between the 1st and the 31st of March of 2013.

Artists and projects requirements to participate Artists of all ages and nationalities living in Berlin during 2013 are allowed to participate. We accept projects related to any kind of visual or scenic arts: sculpture, installation, photography, drawing, videoart, painting, illustration, performance, theatre,… The projects must be presented in a sole archive (max 5mb) having the following information: • Project memory with its main idea, the concept, a description, drafts, … • Personal information of the artist/Collective and CV

Assesment of the projects We will take into account mainly the originality of the proposal and its quality. We will also assess the relation of the work with the proposed theme and if the project has critical spirit and is conscious towards social issues.
