In the Brazos Valley, we have over 1800 nonprofits that provide a way for us to work together for the common good, giving shape to our high ideals and noble causes. Every person in our community benefits from the work of nonprofits in ways that some may not even realize. From
of the Library to Boys and Girls Club of the Brazos Valley, Brazos County 4-H, and the Navasota ISD Education Foundation, to name a few, nonprofits permeate our daily living and our broader culture—providing important quality of life needs that otherwise would be lost. Nonprofits and philanthropy provide a way to bring communities together—creating equity for all.
One in eight jobs in the Brazos Valley is tied directly to the nonprofit sector. We need nonprofits to thrive because they are economic engines that enhance our local economy. Now, more than ever, we believe that nonprofits are where the Brazos Valley comes together to solve problems, promote civic engagement and connect our leaders and innovators that make our towns true communities. However, following a pandemic and in an inflation time, nonprofits face serious challenges that limit their ability to serve the people and communities that rely on them. This is the time for us to be creative and resourceful, connecting with our nonprofits to support their mission—with our monetary support and our time. Local nonprofits need us now.
Brazos Valley Gives is 18 hours of online giving
that brings the region together on one day and as “one community” to raise critical funding and awareness for nonprofit organizations throughout the Brazos Valley. This day of giving provides citizens and businesses an easy platform to support the mission and good works of local nonprofit organizations that serve the Brazos Valley –strengthening nonprofits, empowering donors, and building community.
In 2019, the inaugural year of Brazos Valley Gives, 103 nonprofits participated with 100% of the nonprofits receiving a financial benefit from the $363,686 that was raised. Also, each participating nonprofit was eligible for $25,250 in prizes that were awarded during a post-celebration event. Of the 1,155 individuals who donated, many made donations to multiple organizations. Even so, 879 first-time donations were made by donors to support a local nonprofit that they had not supported before!
In 2020, in the middle of a COVID-19 crisis, the second annual Brazos Valley Gives raised over $801,000—distributed to 136 nonprofits. Six of our seven counties within the Brazos Valley participated.
Last year, Brazos Valley Gives raised $926,880 for 154 participating nonprofits.
This year—the fourth annual Brazos Valley Gives will be held on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. 161 nonprofits have registered to participate, and brazosvalleygives.org is hosting their informational
profiles. Once again, six of our seven counties are participating. This day of “giving where you live” is powered by the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley, and all donations will passthru directly to the donor’s charity(ies) of choice. We have set a goal of $1,000,000. Our presenting sponsors are David Gardner’s Jewelers and West, Webb, Allbritton & Gentry, P.C. The nonprofits are rallying their constituents to partner with us to give. Please join us as we “give where we live” on Tuesday, October 18! Visit brazosvalleygives.org or drop off your donation at one of 3 drive-thru donation sites [The Eagle – 1729 Briarcrest Drive –Bryan; Washington County Chamber of Commerce – 314 South Austin Street – Brenham; Caldwell Civic Center – 103 Hwy 21 – Caldwell] . Join us in supporting the nonprofit community that makes the Brazos Valley a thriving and exceptional place to call home!

Sleep in Heavenly Peace
Child bedlessness is a national problem, and as a national nonprofit with chapters spread across the country, SHP has provided the solution.
All children deserve a safe, comfortable place to lay their heads. In Brazos county and across the US, too many boys and girls go without a bed-or even a pillow-to sleep on. These children end up sleeping on couches, blankets, and even floors. This can affect their physical, mental, and emotional health.
We are an organization that builds and delivers beds to children in need of a bed and a safe place to sleep. Help us ensure “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in our Town!”
That’s where Sleep in Heavenly Peace comes in. We’re a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering top-notch bunk beds to children and families in need.

Still Creek’s mission is “Taking Children From Crisis To New Creation.” We seek to have a multi-generational impact by breaking the cycle of crisis and empowering them to make Biblical decisions, have healthy relationships, and reach their full potential.
We believe that with these 4 core values the possibilities are endless for our kids:
1. Share the Gospel continuously with our kids
2. Provide a safe home
Give a great education
Our mission is to rescue boys and girls from crisis environments and to restore their lives by placing them in a family-style home environment, and through our accredited boarding school, Bible-based counseling, TCAL athletics, fine arts, and our equestrian and agricultural programs. Instead of extending pity toward our children for their devastating past, we create an environment for them to be empowered by their story, yet without allowing them to be defined by their past wounds.
Instill a good worth ethic
We exist to rescue, restore, and release, and to put ourselves in the world of those we serve so that we might help revolutionize their lives. God has called us to dedicate our time and talent as a testimony of His transforming power to raise up, equip, and empower others to “Save Our Streets.”
S.O.S. Ministries is penetrating neighborhoods in Bryan/College Station and beyond through highimpact programs focused on spiritual and community transformation.
SOS Ministries began in 1993 to Rescue, Restore, and Release those from drug and gang infested environments where abuse, poverty, and violence are a way of life. We are a relationship ministry that invests in the daily lives of the ~600 people we serve, of which over 90% live in poverty. We pursue our purpose by serving the entire family, from child to grandparent, through weekly mentoring & discipleship programs, life skills training & education, & outreaches throughout at-risk neighborhoods.
