DEar FriEnDS, Join us at the 13h Annual Seniors EXPO taking place on Wednesday, May 21st from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Brazos Center (3232 Briarcrest Drive) in Bryan. H.E.B. is pleased to bring you, their senior customers, this popular annual event designed to showcase the many services and merchants available to you here in the Brazos Valley. This theme for Seniors EXPO 2014 is “History of the Olympics” and promises to be lots of fun! This year’s EXPO is filled with relevant senior interest information, products and services as well as a full line up of enjoyable entertainment. We have a marvelous variety of entertainment starting with the soulful sounds of Suzanne Woolard on the piano at 9:30. Local talent Miss Macee Martin will sing her sweet country sounds at 10 a.m. and again at 11 a.m. The extremely talented Ray Saunders brings back his unusual Turkey Baster act at 10:30! The Carter duo, Robert and Vicki will entertain with their guitars and lovely voices at 11:30. Then we welcome the Sweet Strings on the Brazos as they share a variety of old time and folk music. Put your dancing shoes on at 12:30 as the line - dancing group “Rhythm Rockers Line Dancers” takes the stage for an energetic performance. At 1 p.m. enjoy barbershop quartet songs performed by Phil & Milton. And the final entertainment slot is local Country crooner Keel Wheless performing classic country hits from the 60’s and 70’s. In addition to the entertainment lineup, there will also be a variety of interesting and respected speakers, including Jim Gerhardt who competed on the 1952 U.S.A. Olympic Team, Susan Quiring with Susan’s Ballroom Dancing presents “Give Dance a Chance for Better Health, followed by Hays Glover with Warwick Partners who will present “Financial Self-Defense for Seniors”. The final seminar of the day will be “Crime Stoppers: Protecting Yourself Financially, Legally & Against Scammers” presented by a panel comprised of Cal McNeil with The Bank & Trust, Bill McGuire with the Better Business Bureau, Maria Rodriquez with Rodgers, Miller & Rodiquez and a member of the Bryan Police Department , Oldies 107, Aggieland’s Good Time Oldies, is sponsoring this year’s GRAND PRIZE – A Carnival 5 Day Western Carribean Cruise (details available at the Seniors EXPO.) The Grand Prize drawing will be held at 2:30 p.m. and you must be present to win. As a special treat the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History is offering FREE ADMISSION to Seniors EXPO attendees and their families from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. during the EXPO.
