photo of each volunteer. With so many wonderful volunteers to choose from, we call on BEACON readers to vote for their favorite volunteer at www. BeaconSeniorNews.com or by mailing in the published ballot.

HONORING CHANGEMAKERS

Volunteers make big impacts to their communities by supporting local causes with their time, skills and passion. These nominations are published in the August issue along with a

Even though these volunteers don't do it for the recognition, please join us in thanking them for all the good they do in our community at 1 p.m. in the Senior Center Ballroom.

Each volunteer will be recognized at the stage and presented with an award. Then the reader-selected Volunteer of the Year will be announced.

Come meet all of our amazing volunteers at BeaconFest! They might just inspire you to start volunteering yourself. ■

In 2021, BEACON readers chose Dawn Ullrey as the Montrose-Delta Volunteer of the Year.

Ullrey's nominator with Hilltop Community Resources wrote, “Dawn has been a volunteer with Hilltop for 16 years. She covers our crisis line for domestic violence and sexual assault victims almost every weekend for Delta and Montrose counties. (She also worked as a firefighter!)"
