DOL STARTER SELECTION TABLE Introduction THAKOOR manually operated Direct-On-Line Push Button Starter, basic type SB, is a compact & versatile switchgear suitable for nonreversing control of 5.5 KW, 415V, 3 phase or 1.5 KW, 230V, single phase squirrel cage induction motor of any type. This starter is suitable for utilization category AC3 (Non-reversible) intermittent duty (12 operating cycles per hour) as per IS: 13947 (Part 4/ Sec.1) : 1993

Mounting This starter is available in (1) Enclosed (2) Flush Mounting Types (3) Open Execution and In Enclosed Type, for surface mounting, the starter unit is enclosed in dust proof sheet steel housing having a removable metal cover. In Flush Mounting Type, the starter unit is attached to a metal face plate. The starter unit occupies the recess in the machine frame. In Open Execution Type, the starter unit is installed on the integrally moulded mounting brackets and only the push buttons project out of the machine casing.

L. T .Control switches, type M 16, are Air - Break, Leveroperated and are designed to provide reliable and efficient control of industrial motors. The switches have exceptionally long life of switching cycles. The switches are capable of continuous duty giving as much as 200 switching operations per hour. The switches are of robust construction and are enclosed in sheet metal housing. The switches are operated with bakelite ball handle. For loom applications, the switchesare made available with steel handle. The switching action is accomplished by means of an efficient spring mechanism which is actuated by a handle provided at the top of switch.

The switches are suitable for projection mounting on Machine-tools such as Lathes, Drill Presses, Threading Machines, Band Saws, Grinders, Press Brakes, Switch Boards, Control Panels etc. Every switch undergoes routine tests in our well equipped factory. L.T. CONTROL SWITCHES BASIC TYPE M25 & M63 CAM OPERATED B. Programme Switches, M 25 & M63. These switches are tailor-made as per switching sequences desired by the . customers. These switches are used for programme control of machine tools, switchboards, control panels, etc. These can also be used in the main circuit for direct control of feeder motors and in the control circuits for controlling the contactors for various drives according to the desired programme.

Construction â&#x20AC;&#x2DC;Thakoorâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; L.T. Control Switches, Cam Operated. basic types M25 and M63 are built up from uniform switching packets assembled to form a stack. Each packet carries 2 fixed contacts accessible from outside and 2 moving contacts inside the packet. The moving contacts are operated by moulded bakelite cams which are actuated by a spring operated mechanism. This facilitates make and break operations with positive location of positions. The switches are capable of rotating either in clockwise or anticlockwise directions. M25 switch is generally supplied with bakelite ball handle and M63 switch with machine handle. Both handles can be fixed in any desired positions. Switching Capacity and Mechanical life M25 and M63 switches are exceptionally suitable for safe starting and stopping of AC, 3 phase induction motors, even under heavy starting and locked rotor conditions. These switches are capable of a frequency of operations upto 200 switching cycles per hour. The mechanical life of these switches is exceptionally high, running into millions of switching cycles. The switches possess high making n breaking capacity and long contact life.

A. Motor Control Switches, M25 & M63: For controlling, starting & stopping of 3 phase induction motors. These are classified as Motor Duty switches under category AC-3 of IS- 13947 (Part3) : 1993.

Switches With Momentary Contacts The switches in M25 series upto 4 packets can also be offered with momentary contacts on either one or both sides. Application of this execution can be in main circuits for inching and plugging operation. C. Heavy Duty Switches, M25 & M63 The heavy duty switches are covered by IS: 4064. 1978, as such these switches are capable of making and breaking 3 times the rated current at a rated voltage and at a power factor of 0.35. These switches find application in the distribution network for general control of feeders. In many industrial installations, especially in rural areas, where power factor is predominantly low, these switches, possessing high making and breaking. capacity, can operate such circuits with absolute safety. Thakoor Rotary Switches are designed for ON LOAD Switching and facilitate choice of multiposition and multipole circuits. The applications are for isolation, selection and auxiliary switching of resistive and inductive circuits. The Switches incorporate two types of operating mechanisms. 1. Quick make & slow break principally for AC switching. 2. Quick make & quick break mainly for DC switching, and also for AC switching when quick operation of the switch is necessary.
