Everyone has one. You have one. I have one. Our friends have one! Our brain helps us THINK.
In the mind, there is the...

The smart part helps us:
Make smart choices
Reach our goals
Solve problems
Thank God for the smart part, right?
Can you think of the blue sky?
Can you think of the sun?
How about the moon and stars?
Can you think of swimming?
Can you think of flying?
I know those pictures popped on your mind because you THOUGHT about it. When think about something, a picture pops in your mind! Those pictures are called thoughts.
Our minds work like order food in a restaurant. When I say, "I want a burger!"
Lots of thoughts about burger will show up!
What if you think of something scary?
More pictures in my mind of scary things will pop up!
When you're in trouble, there's a part of the brain that will help you fight!
It's called the lizard part.
The lizard part gets us to FIGHT, FLIGHT, OR FREEZE.
Imagine walking crossing the road.
Imagine walking crossing the road. Then suddenly a car comes.....
The lizard part will tell you to STOP AND RUN!
Have you seen a real life lizard?! It’s always sneaking around and watching... Looking around in its surroundings.....
And it's good. It's great to stay ALERT and stay out of trouble but sometimes, when we’re always watching out, we’re always rushing… we’re always scared and panicking…
We don't get to think.
This is why it's important to be MINDFUL.
Mindfulness is all about being present in the moment. It's knowing what we're
thinking
hearing
seeing
smelling feeling
tasting
All it takes is to be MINDFUL
to allow our smart part of our mind to be activated
We just need to take a deep breath
And release....
So the next time you're feeling sad or scared or worried or angry... Just remember to take a deep breath. Let the smart part of the mind WORK!
