Testimonials

The finance sector is known to be a male dominated industry. In movies like the Wolf of Wallstreet, one typically sees white men in suits as protagonists, and women as eye candy. Thankfully, these are just movies. Moneyhealth check founder, financial advisor, and investor, Antonette Aquino, casts many of these prejudices aside, making her way into the industry and shattering the glass ceiling.

04

“Go getter,” “girl boss,” and “female hustler” are monikers that come naturally when her 269,700 TikTok followers talk about her. With over 2.1million likes on the platform, Antonette has shown that women are indeed capable of managing money and building wealth. At just 16 years old, Antonette was then already juggling part time jobs that gave her a cushy 6-digit income. Working as a sales consultant, sidelining into advertising, and accepting hosting gigs during her senior year in High School, she eventually earned her first million at only 19 years old. With her achievements the result of grit and hard work-- she’s just getting started.

05

MONEY MANAGEMENT AND INVESTING TIPS Antonette shares that her perspective on money and money management developed as she experienced first hand all the financial mistakes her family was making. From living a privileged life with bodyguards following her around, they went through a crisis which led to bankruptcy. During her senior year in high school, while most of her batchmates were awaiting College Entrance Test results, she was worried about not graduating, because she couldn’t pay for her tuition fees. This painful experience pushed Antonette to work hard and earn for herself. “I developed my money beliefs because I grew in an environment of financial errors. Money was coming in as fast as it was going.”

06

Rich people focus on opportunities T. Harv Eker

However, it was not until she read the book “Secrets of the Millionaire Mindset” by T. Harv Eker that changed her life. The P400 book she bought eventually taught her how to reach her first million. What an R.O.I! This book drastically changed her perspective on money, investments, and the power of having multiple streams of income. In this day and age of shopping, impulse purchases (aka “budol”), she learned to keep track of and develop better tools for utilizing money. While it is completely okay to splurge once in a while, investing is critical in order to allow money to work for one later on.

07

Ironically, Antonette’s main investment advice is to “invest in yourself.” She encourages young people or those starting out with money management to read books, attend seminars, or find credible mentors one can seek advice from. Like any skill in life, consistent practice and learning is key to success. Antonette explains that before deploying capital in any investment, it’s best to take the time to analyze and study your choices.

“If you work hard on your job, you make a living. If you work hard on yourself, you make a fortune.”

08

While TikTok has became Antonette’s platform to promote her advocacy of personal finance and money management, in the beginning of the pandemic, she saw the opportunity to post videos about investing and tips about saving. What started out as a hobby eventually led her to influencing more people to learn more about personal finance. To date, she’s come to collaborate with some of the most influential finance gurus in the country such as Randell Tiongson, Sean Si, and Marvin Germo. Antonette has also been featured in GMA News TV, Inquirer Business, Yahoo Finance, MalayMail, Lifestyle Asia Bangkok, and The Star.

When asked about her “why”, she says that the purpose of all her hard work is simply to give back to her family. She finds joy in being able to provide her family with their wants and needs.

Beginners Guide to Understanding Italian Wine Italy. Where do I even begin? From the soothing sounds of the waters flowing by the walls of Venice’s ancient palazzi to the headquarters of ancient art and fashion in Milan, Italy is considered the birthplace of western civilization and a cultural powerhouse. The country is most famous for its contributions to art, literature, fashion, architecture, politics, food, wine, and so on. “Made in Italy '' is a concept in fashion that expresses the excellence of creativity and craftsmanship. Prada, Armani, Gucci, Bottega Veneta are among the legendary fashion brands that were born in Italy. Some of the world’s most renowned structures: the Leaning Tower of Pisa, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Colosseum, etc. are found in the country. Not to mention, the Italian food and wine culture is very much alive and strong not only in the country but all over the world.

10

Italy is a place where food, wine, and love are immensely intertwined. Italian cuisine is considered a form of art by many since each region offers something unique. Enthusiasts of food and wine visit Italy to seek passion and adventure. Thin crust pizza cooked to perfection over a brick charcoal, al dente pasta that comes in different shapes and widths, and length, and wine that speaks the truth. Here are some facts about Italian wine:

Italy is the Largest Wine Producer of the World with over 2,000 Grape Varieties With a majestic 702,000 hectares or 1,734,680 acres wine vineyard, Italy dominates the wine industry in the whole world. They contribute an annual average of 48.3 million hl of wine (19% of the global wine market) ahead of France (17%) and Spain (15%). Italians have an insatiable appetite for wine. I mean, if you were living in a beautiful country that produces some of the best wines worldwide, it only makes sense to support the locals, right? Each person in Italy consumes an average of 42 liters of winemaking them the 5th in world wine consumption.

11

All 20 Regions in Italy Produces Wine that Reflects the Region’s Famous Cuisine Italian wine is produced in all 20 regions of Italy, home to some of the oldest wine-producing regions in the world. Wine enthusiasts from all around the world visit Italy to tour the world’s finest wine vineyards. Each wine region in the country has its own unique characteristic and flavor profile reflecting the cuisine of that particular area. You will be able to see how each dish was created with the region’s leading wine in mind. For example, Marche’s fried olives are perfectly matched for the bright acidity of Verdicchio white wine. In Tuscany, Bistecca Florentina – a 3-4 inch T-Bone steak grilled over wood is the ideal pairing for the rich and velvety Chianti wine made from Sangiovese grapes.

12

The Veneto Produces Over a Third of the Entire Wine Production of Italy The Veneto is Italy’s realm of wine production. Although slightly smaller than other wine-production cities like Tuscany, Lombardy, and Sicily, it generates more wine than the rest. In this city, you will also find some of Italy’s most reputable and respectable wines such as fine Soave and sparkling Prosecco.

The Italian Peninsula was Once Known As the Land of Wine When the Ancient Greeks arrived in Italy in the 8th century, they found potential for grapes and named the land Oenotria, “The land of Wine”. No doubt, wine production and consumption continued to flourish in Italy across centuries. The oldest traces of Italian wine were discovered in a cave near Sicily’s southwest cove.

13

Ormanni Chianti Classico Omani Chianti Classico originated from Tuscany, one of the most exceptional and prolific wine producers from all around Europe. A bottle of Ormanni Chianti Classico is also considered one of the highest-quality Chainti. Its grape variety is 100% Sangiovese. Ruby red in color, with an intense and fruity aroma and a soft and balanced flavor, this wine combines praide, elegance, fruitiness and great drinkability.

Masseria Altemura-Puglia Sasseo Primitivo Salento Sasseo is the embodiment of the wish to create a Primitivo with a strong personality. Today, it is one of the most internationally successful wines from Puglia. Its name (alluding to sasso, ‘stone’ in Italian) expresses its direct relationship to the calcareous ‘stones’ that emerges from Salento’s red soil, forming a mirror-like surface that reflects the sun. Its unmistakable style is a perfect combination of freshness and softness, and it has a structure with just the right balance of complexity and density. Made from 100% Primitivo grapes and originated in Salento, Puglia, this bottle reveals intense and full aromas that recall plum, red fruit jam with sweet accents of spices on the nose. On the palate - fullbodied wine, in the mouth it is enveloping, warm, soft and expresses a very ripe fruitiness, supported by a pleasant texture of sweet tannins.

14

Castello del Poggio Moscato d’Asti Originated from Piemonte made from 100% Moscato Blanco, this bottle is musk and peach, with deeper notes of honey and white flower on the nose. On palate, light, with an agile and elegant – yet compact – structure. Medium freshness and low minerality make this wine a pleasure to drink. Excellent throughout the meal, but especially with desserts, mild to semi aged cheeses or fresh fruit. Also delicious with ice cream, or just on its own as an accompaniment to conversation among friends.

Passion, Purpose, and Paintings Local Artist, Mylene Quito, Conquering International Art Exhibits For Mylene Quito, talents are gifts best used for making a positive difference in the lives of others. An artist’s work is said to be a reflection of his or her inner world. If so, Mylene Quito’s art was a way to hold onto something she had to let go of early - her family. Born and raised in Pampanga, mother of three and an entrepreneur, Mylene started painting when she was just 8 years old, after her parents’ separation. She recalls that her mother’s last instruction to her before leaving to seek work abroad was to continue drawing. Rapidly flicking through her yellow pad, young Mylene sketched scenes of family and home akin perhaps to Wanda Maximoff’s vision in that Marvel series. One of her works eventually caught the eye of a teacher who entered Mylene’s art in a contest.

Spring of Love by Mylene | 48x36 oil paint

It won first place.

16

And Mylene learned something which distinguished her art from others - it told story. Several contest wins later, Mylene continues to discover more about herself and her evolving medium of expression.

Inspirations Her inspiration includes many things and although it constantly evolves, Mylene’s art remains rooted to family. Mylene’s paintings visually describe how she feels at a certain point of time, and through her work, she’s able to see her growth and progress as well as that of her family’s.

“It reminds me of how perspective changes with age and how life takes on new and different meanings the longer you live.”

17

The youth and young Filipino artists are also a draw for her. She is adamant about giving back and creating an impact on other people’s lives. She believes that given the opportunity to succeed in things we are passionate about, people must use this to be a blessing to other people. Mylene’s advocacy includes helping young artists in public schools and orphanages. This way, she finds her talents much more meaningful. In this way, with her grace and talent, Mylene Quito is making a difference in the local art community.

When asked about her creation process, she admits that it is a bit bizarre. For Mylene, the inspiration comes, she lets it consume her until she ends up painting the entire day. No matter what time of the day, even in the middle of the night at 3am, she will rush to the studio the moment art taps into her senses.

18

What are her works? Mylene specializes in painting patterns in a colorful way. She uses mostly metallic and bright coloured acrylic-- playing around textures to create fine and raw details. One of her most in demand collections is her “Familia Series'' which has found patrons in celebrities like Derek Ramsay, Raymart Santiago, Shaina Magdayao. Other famous works of hers are her “gray series” - where rolling brushes and smudging tools are the dominant style

Mylene has been constantly representing the Philippines in several international galleries. The latest one she was part of was the Penang Intercultural Art Exhibition at Island Gallery, No. 6 in Malaysia, where she is joined by several artists from Singapore and Malaysia.

17

Life’s experiences led Mylene to make her dreams of becoming a painter come true. With her pure intentions, talent, and perseverance, Mylene showed that achieving your dreams and goals in life is a matter of saying yes to opportunities, following your passion, and creating a purpose bigger than yourself.

A Healthy Bottom Line Despite Lean Times - How the Man Behind Fat Seed Thrived During the Pandemic When you are clear with your ‘why’ all else goes down easier, at least according to Bryant Dee, 28 year old, restaurateur, and owner of Fat Seed. For despite the many setbacks brought by the pandemic, Dee was still able to adapt, pivoting his business, and opening a new branch in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) just last January 2021. His purpose was clear. He wanted to create a community similar to the one he belonged to during his college days in Taft. When asked about his passions though, you’d be surprised at how this coffee shop owner isn’t so passionate about roasting coffee. While although he went through some training, his true passion is interaction--good company, meaningful conversations, and creating memories beyond the photos one posts “for the ‘gram”. In this generation of crazed social media, Dee (who has no Instagram account), knew that he wanted his business promoting the beauty of interacting with people. In his Miami Beach-inspired restaurant creates a friendly space where customers are welcome to chat with one another, share stories, and vibe through music.

19

“I love the people here. We’ve created a community. I know so many of them by name, I know their dogs’ names or their cats. I hang out with them. We sit at the same table. We have drinks together also,” he gushes, continuing, “That’s the thing most restaurants are missing-proper community building.” He brings up that people go to the gym, and it is common to strike up conversations with anyone. Bryant envisions something similar to this beautiful community.

19

FAT SEED MENU Recreating this is in no small part, based on his menu. “When I was in college, I would always drink in the same bar where everyone knew each other and it was a beautiful feeling,” shares Bryant, who knew it was time to share this experience...through his food. In general Fat Seed’s menu has no boundaries. They don’t play by the rules. Chef Pierre Ivan Tan prepares food that goes beyond the ordinary. His best sellers include Hotate Soy Cream Pasta, a soy cream based pasta that is a fusion of Italian and Japanese flavours. “It’s like a mix of pasta and California Maki.” They’re proud of this unique and interesting flavour profile because they like to go beyond the rules when it comes to creating their dishes. Another crowd favorite is the TFS Signature Porkchop; definitely a must try with flavours of beer brine and homemade miso sauce. One customerinspired item is their famous “poke bowl.” He likes to sell the hassle. “If it’s easy to make, people won’t dine in.” They also sell specialty drinks made with the finest ingredients. Dee explains the three main coffee consumers he aims to serve: experts, the general public, and those who use coffee as a tool. He explains that the way to serve all three lies within the coffee ingredients. He doesn’t cut back on the cost of ingredients because quality ingredients make quality food. Good music, fine coffee, and a well thought-of food menu, makes Fat Seed a great place to chill, unwind, and visit when you want something different.

19

Pandemic Pivot As Bill Geppert, general manager of Cox Cable, says, “Take care of your people, and the business takes care of itself.” It wasn’t smooth sailing to pivot amidst the pandemic but Bryant’s first priority was the safety of his employees. Dee recalls personally picking up his employees and bringing them home for four months until he felt it was safer to commute using public transportation. Additionally, Dee didn’t let go of any of his employees because he knew the importance of job security during a time of crisis. He was thankful that they left on their own to choose personal safety. He then eventually got into a position to hire more as he opened his BGC branch earlier this year.

20

Another challenge he encountered during the lockdown were the losses incurred from their UP Town Center (UPTC) branch that was closed for two months during the start of 2020. This branch suffered greatly since most of their customers were students and face-to-face classes have been closed for almost a year now. However, Dee managed to push through and keep going. The newly opened branch located on the 9th avenue of BGC was what helped him pivot his business and thrive.

In 2019, he had made an investment in a spot in BGC. During the start of this year, Dee was able to open this branch and thankfully enough, this Fat Seed is thriving. He calls this a result of luck and good karma. His next challenge is acquiring vaccines for his employees. “These people put their life on the line for my business and giving them vaccines is just a simple act of gratitude,” Dee explains.

21

When asked about his future plans, he humbly says that his vision for the brand is to simply last forever. He wants to continue to bring the sense of community he loves wherever he plans to expand and put up another Fat Seed store. He prefers to have a few branches with a strong community instead of over a hundred branches that he can’t be hands-on in, since this is what his business is about: interaction. His message to aspiring restaurateurs: show up everyday. “Despite hard days, never give up and show up. We like things easy and when things are hard, we tend to take the easy route and just rest. However, we become stronger and grow when we learn how to bounce back from challenges.”

Bryant Dee proves that luck favors the prepared mind. With a clear purpose, compassion for others, and a pleasant attitude to solving problems, thriving during the pandemic is not impossible. May we continue to support small and medium enterprises like Fat Seed during this time of crisis.

SEO writing What's more important: google ranking or high quality content? Both. A high quality content will go to waste if it does not rank on google while a high ranking on google that is not user-friendly will not let users come back to the site.
