Facilitated by the Project Management Office (PMO), the project management program is a training and learning program designed to develop in its members skill sets and attitudes brought about by powerful project management experiences. Its main objectives are the following:

To create a well-equipped pool of project managers and officers to be deployed to various projects throughout the term To develop project management competencies in AIESEC Philippines members, in order to design & execute strategic initiatives contributing to the current and future direction of the national and local entities

A project is a temporary endeavor undertaken to create a certain product, service or result, whose objective/s align/s with the strategic direction of the organization. Its temporary nature is defined by a set start and end date, and does not refer to the product, service or result the project produces, as most projects produce a lasting outcome.

BRAND XP (BD & MaC) The Brand XP portfolio aims to engage and enable AIESEC’s various stakeholders , to create mutually beneficial relationships, grow our reach, and establish the AIESEC brand on a national level. Some Brand XP projects are: market research projects, PR & networking events (including int’l conferences brand audits, campaigns and brand development projects.

OPERATIONS INNOVATION (TM, ICX, OGX) The Operations Innovation portfolio aims to execute projects creating new systems, programs and/or services that would boost operational performance driving more and better ELD experiences on a large scale. Some Ops Innovation projects are: servicing initiatives, national OS’s, national Ambassador’s day, dev’t of codelivery frameworks, Ops manuals, EP reintegration program dev’t, and sub-product dev’t.

OD (LCD & Expansion) The Organizational Development portfolio aims to boost the organization’s capacity to deliver its products and services to its customers through creation of different tools, Learning & Development services, member education projects and quality management initiatives. Some OD projects are: Internal Quality Management campaigns, Internal Market Research systems, national summits & conferences, and SU summits.

Special Projects Special Projects are those that don’t fall into any category, but are critical to the strategy and achievement of national goals for the term. Some special projects are: Creation of Alumni + Social Impact indicators, IXP campaign, Skills Dev’t and Values Formation Evaluation System

The Project Mgmt Office (PMO) is a management structure that standardizes project-related governance processes and facilitates the sharing of resources, methodologies, tools & techniques among projects. PMO responsibilities can range from providing project mgmt support functions to actual execution of projects.

A Portfolio is a collection of different projects managed as a group to achieve strategic objectives.

The Director for Project Mgmt is in charge of overseeing & tracking the four portfolios, making sure that portfolio objectives are being met on time and within budget. The PM director ensures proper initiation, planning, execution and closing of projects through consultation, education and/or direct involvement. The finance manager is responsible for budgeting, cash flow management and resources allocation for all projects.

Portfolio coordinator roles rotate among the different project team leaders from time to time. They are in charge of regularly reporting portfolio progress to the PM director. Project team leaders report to their portfolio coordinators on a regular basis for updates, critical support needed, etc. Directly consults with finance mgr for financial requests.

Project team members report to and are accountable to their respective project team leaders.

Some notes: - B2B Marketing roles (Previously known as OCVP Financial Sponsorships) are no longer part of the roster of Project Team member roles. All sponsorship marketing activities are directly managed and overseen by the MCVP BD. This would mean that all “marketable” projects (events, etc) are offered to partners as packages, instead of as individual projects, to maximize benefits. - Project team members with similar goals/objectives and resources needed are required to consult with each other and report to a coordinator for updates. (Ex.: Logistics officers report to a Logistics coordinator—the role of coordinator, again, rotates from time to time). This is to ensure that resources & information are shared within project teams. - In some cases, project teams are not directly accountable to the PM director, but instead to their project sponsor (i.e, the MC member who requested for or designed the project objective). This would mean that some project teams, although allocated and trained by the PM director, will be deployed to their respective functional departments for strategic alignment and management. - All project teams will undergo basic project management education, will have access to project management tools & resources, and can only be discharged once the project report, at the end of the project, has been submitted to the PM Director and project sponsor.
