PROGRAMS FOR OLDER ADULTS These programs are designed for older adults, but any adults may register to enjoy an environment that encourages working at your own pace in a welcoming environment.

A TASTE OF ART BEAUMONT (16+ ADULT) Join us for various types of art brought to you by instructors of the Artists Association of Beaumont! All of these classes are workshop formats, so you can pick and choose which ones you would like to experience! Unless otherwise stated, supplies will be provided for all classes.

OIL PAINTING BASICS WORKSHOP In this fun multi-week workshop you will learn while you paint, the basics of how to work with oil paints. Learn techniques of blending and layering colours to create intensity and luminosity. Make some new friends and share in the joy of learning the basics of painting. At the end you will take home 2 of your own works of art! All supplies will be included in the course. 5728

INTRODUCTION TO WEAVING FOR OLDER ADULTS

In this program you will make some new friends and share in the joy of learning the basics of painting in a safe and inviting environment! During this multi-week workshop you will learn the basics of how to work with oil paints at a pace that works for you. Learn techniques of blending and layering colours to create intensity and luminosity. At the end you will take home 2 of your own works of art! This program is designed for older adults, but any adults may register. All supplies will be included in the course.

Learn how to weave on a basic lap loom in a safe and inviting environment! During this 3 week class you will learn four common weaving techniques that you will use to create two wall hangings that you will be proud to display. Participants please bring a pair of sharp scissors, all other yarn supplies will be included as well as your very own loom to keep at the end of the workshop! This program is designed for older adults, but any adults may register.

Our instructor will guide you through the basics of creating your own stained glass piece. In just a matter of hours you will learn the techniques and skills needed to cut, grind, fit, foil, solder your very own stained glass art. You will be creating your own stained glass mountains using a variety of colours and textures to either hang or place in a stand. All supplies included. 6128

PHOTOGRAPHY – SMARTPHONE PHOTOGRAPHY Welcome to the new age of photography! Learn from a Professional Photographer on how to get better photos with your SMART phone in this fun, hands-on workshop. Learn & practice simple tips and tricks to help you with lighting, composition & creativity. 5745

MOUNTAIN WEAVING

Join our experienced instructor in this two class workshop where you will be using a Canadian-made mountain shaped frame loom to make a beautiful wall hanging. The loom forms the frame for your lovely finished mountain-themed piece! All materials are provided, you will be choosing yarns/rovings at the beginning of the workshop for your piece to customize it to your preferences. All tools are provided, participants are required to bring a pair of sharp scissors. 6195

STAINED GLASS – MOUNTAINS ARE CALLING

INTRODUCTION TO FUSED GLASS In this fun and exciting workshop you will create 2 fused glass birds that stand on their own. In a matter of hours you will have the confidence to cut, grind and assemble 2 of your own fused glass birds. There is no experience necessary for this class, just a desire to try something new! All the materials for this class are supplied by the instructor. Pick up for your birds will be scheduled with the instructor for a later day as the firing of the birds takes 6-8hrs. Arrangements for pick up will be made at the end of the class.
