Guardian of the Forest Three‐dimensional box frame illustrations, inspired by mythology and folklore of the forest. In Celtic religion there is a God known as Cernunnos, the deity of the forest and wild animals. The stag is the physical representation of Cernunnos, and his spirit lives within all deer. The deer – guardian of the forest – is the largest living animal in British woodlands, with no predator other than man. These herbivores, with no need to harm other living creatures, protect all animals that are smaller, and more vulnerable. The large illustration of the stag, and the ascending branch antlers, contain smaller animals featuring !"#$%&'%""&'$()*+&,-."%&/0#&1""'&$2#&'.(3&)"3*4& The layers depict the depth of the forest he guards.
