Spring Openings
Spring Openings Amongst the usual hustle and bustle of operations in the NorCal region, the everyready, ever-dedicated Bon Appétit brigade recently welcomed two new cafés and launched an incredible restaurant and catering culinary program. Another Feather in the Cap for Twitter Joining The 10th Floor café and #ThePerch, Twitter is celebrating a new addition to the family– The 6th Floor café.
On opening day guests patiently (but eagerly) awaited the chance to explore the cafÊ and taste Executive Chef Lance Holton’s adroitly crafted menus. Stations offered crisp hand-tossed salads, golden spring vegetable pot pies, hot-pressed panini, and lamb chops accompanied by a colorful cucumber and mint coulis amuse bouche.
Unique to The 6th Floor, and in partnership with Bon Appétit and Square, Twitter launched the distinctive #ffg station. ‘ffg’ stands for ‘food for good’ , and is exactly that: great food that does a whole lot of good - 100% of the revenues are donated to the community. The mouth-watering and meticulously prepared menu options at the station sent more than a few guests scrambling to download the Square pickup app (pre-order is required!). Smiles told all; the Twitter team has definitely hit the mark with the food, service, and giving back to the community.
Levi Strauss & Co. | A Colorful Transformation A wall at the new Levi Strauss Plaza CafÊ shouts what hundreds of Levi employees and neighbors came to do on opening day – try, taste, explore, enjoy and, above all, EAT!
A refresh of an existing café, guests oohed at the enlivened and stylish décor and aahed at the delicious menus.
Many shared their first impressions, thoroughly dazzled by the visual impact of the café. Indeed, the opening Bon Appétit team had worked day and night to create a feast for the stomach, and the eyes!
Not only is the newly refurbished space chockfull of brilliant pops of color, but guests frequently commented on the vibrancy and abundance of the café’s fruits and vegetables. Surrounded by Levi’s own gorgeous photography with deep blues, luminous cityscapes, and brightly-hued fabrics; vivid pink grapefruit, cheerful red and yellow bell peppers, and rich green asparagus have found themselves right at home.
Culinary Perfection at the Presidio In collaboration with the Presidio Trust, Chef Traci Des Jardins and Culinary Director Robbie Lewis have put heart and soul into opening The Commissary; a 112-seat park restaurant that features California cuisine with Spanish influences.
With beginnings as a mess hall within the Presidio’s Montgomery Street barracks, the space that houses The Commissary has an intriguing history and a gorgeous renovation that promises to continue its legacy of times past - keeping guests fed, and fed well!
Simultaneous to offering artful bistro-fare in the restaurant, the Commissary team also curates a mercantile and larder retail shop that features house-made and local foods - essential rations for relaxing at any of the Presidio’s picturesque picnic spots. The Bon AppÊtit team is also heading up the Presidio Foods catering program which supplies superb menus at exceptional Presidio event locations.
