Aims and Objectives I want to create an library of illustrated characters based on the social impacts in my everyday life to use for future animation practice.
Methodology With everyday social and political matters being in the public eye, it is hard not to be affected bythe impacting news and happenings when going about your daily life. As designers we stylise and finalise our images to create impressions and create emotion for the viewer in this every day life.
Using random mini briefs for myself to create a small collection of characters that are based on social impacts.
This essay is an insight into why we as designers are influenced by these occurrences and how we communicated this in our designs over the years. In particular, I will look at how the social issuesimpact the design work in stories that are retold through time. I will include classics such as Cinderella and Alice In Wonderland, which have been regenerated hundreds of times, over hundreds of years.
These rules I create through the randomly generated briefs will be modified, however I do have the intentions at first to try to see if they work. Seen to the right is an example of a timetable that I could use to generate my briefs.
I will begin by working out what random briefs I can concoct. I will then select a brief twice a week to build up visual artefacts to use in later experimentation to improve in my animation based skill area.
Visual research question How well can I create an illustrated character library based on social impacts on me?
