Bromham Conservation Group Bromham Conservation Group and Friends of Bromham Mill are voluntary groups working with the borough and parish councils, and the new Bromham Mill Trust to maintain and develop the Mill and the extensive meadows, woodland and water courses behind. Conservation Group volunteers also work at other sites around the village but recently most of our effort has been devoted to the Mill as the café prepares to reopen followed perhaps by the rest of the building in due course. Our volunteers have improved the woodland behind the Mill, created new flower beds and opened new walks and trails. The work we do makes maintenance easier, as well as improving visitor experience. We have created new planters from timber recovered from the brook and cleared rubbish washed by winter floodwater down to the mill sluices. We also work closely with the Bromham Mill Nature Club, which offers local children the opportunity to learn about nature, plant bulbs and spring flowers and

study wildlife. The Conservation Group and Nature Club created the woodland fairy walk that has become so popular with local families. With enjoyable company, it is also great fun working together on our various projects. At Bromham Mill this has included painting and mending the outside of the barns, internally dusting and painting the mill. When the Mill reopens we hope to restart our Mill machinery demonstrations and machinery maintenance as well as continue to research and help restore selected artefacts in the Mill. All volunteers are welcome. If you like working outdoors or on internal projects and can offer a little time, please get in touch with us. We issue a regular email newsletter to tell our supporters what we have achieved and what we plan to do next. For further details of our programme visit the parish website at https://bromham-pc.gov.uk or email bcg@peterargyle.plus.com.
