Opportunity for Women of all ages & abilities, to play inclusive, fun Football in Bedford This year the FA Women’s Super League (FA WSL) celebrated its 10th Season and in July next year England host the UEFA Women’s Euros with 16 Teams taking part – England and Northern Ireland represent the Home Nations. Major Football grounds around the Country will host matches with Stadium MK our nearest venue. With initiatives from the FA already underway, ongoing interest in the WSL, extra media and TV coverage of the Euros to further increase awareness next year and a legacy programme in place to take full advantage … Women’s Football has never been in a better place. The FA want to give Women of all ages and abilities the opportunity to play and that is reflected in their Women’s Recreational Football programme … so, what does that mean for Women in Bedford who would love to kick a ball about. In 2019 in conjunction with the Beds FA and the Borough Sports Development Team we were the first in the area to start running a dedicated Women’s Walking Football Session. It is a fun session for any age and fitness level and a great introduction if you haven’t played football before and a chance to make a comeback if you have!

The main differences between standard football and Walking Football are the two key rules of no running and no slide tackles. Play the game you love but reduce the chances of injury. Walking Football is a great way to keep fit, learn skills, have fun and socialise all at the same time. As you can imagine the Sessions have been affected by Covid over the last year but have now re-started on Wednesdays 7.00-8.00pm at Kempston Rovers following both Government and FA Guidelines For further information and to book your place (unfortunately we are unable to have people just turn up on the night) please email: info@walkingfootballbedford.co.uk www.walkingfootballbedford.co.uk #THIS GIRL CAN
