This year’s Summer Show, a mixed exhibition of Modern and Contemporary paintings, drawings, prints, sculpture and ceramics, has been selected by Matt Retallick. Matt is an independent curator and art historian. Although now based in Liverpool, he is from Cornwall, and has an expertise in St Ives / Cornish Modernism. He is currently in the process of finishing his PhD research, the first in-depth scholarly study of the life and paintings of Karl Weschke. He is also a Lecturer in Art History and Curating at Manchester School of Art, has worked for a variety of cultural institutions, including The Whitworth and The Turnpike, and writes for organisations such as Art UK.
