Welcome
Saddleridge Farming is a diversified farming company that is a real family business and 2017 has been quite exciting for the family. In spring Luke got married and we were very happy to welcome Amanda into our family and in summer Len and Michelle welcomed their second son, George. We are very fortunate that our work is something we enjoy and feel very blessed to work together as a family. It is our pleasure to invite you to the 2018 Saddleridge Charolais Bull Sale at Bow Slope Shipping in Brooks on February 28 at 1:00pm.
BULL SALE WITH GUESTS
We are offering for sale the kind of bulls we like to use on our commercial herd, bulls that sire calves that are born unassisted and have the performance that the feeding industry expects from the Charolais breed. This year we added the highest selling Charolais bull of 2015, Sparrows Kingston, to our AI program and we have the first calves from our 2 walking bulls, Pleasant Dawn Classic and GLM Clover. We are very pleased with these additions to our program. We also continue to partner with the Cholaks of Circle Cee Charolais in an embryo transfer program as a way of diversifying our genetics. This year we had good success with our shared calf, CEE RETZ Class Act, and we appreciate the Cholak’s work and expertise in this project. We are pleased to have Kaiser Cattle Co. selling with us again this year. We and the Kaisers both had a high percentage of heifer calves in our purebred herds last year, and while this bodes well for the future of our herds, it does mean that our numbers are down little for the sale, but you will find that the quality has not suffered. We are also very happy that Cody and Robyn Gilliland are bringing their yearling bulls to our sale.
We will take your purchases back to the farm and deliver them later in the spring when it is convenient. Since we take them at your risk we do advise that you insure your purchases. We offer free delivery for 300 km and will work with you on longer distances. You are welcome to come by the farm to check out our program and see the bulls whenever you like. Come early to the sale for beef on a bun and to check out the bulls. If you are unable to attend the sale, internet bidding will be available through DLMS.

Klondike caught our eye already as a young calf. This early maturing bull has great balance, featuring good length and thickness a gentle disposition and good testicle development. His dam, Circle Cee 125Y, is a very feminine type cow with a good udder and lots of milk. Along with the 2 heifers she has added to our herd she also produced Circle Cee Legend, the sire that has done so much at Horseshoe E Charolais. It’s not surprising that with 125Y as his dam and with Kingston as his sire he would be a potential herd sire himself. We think so much of this bull that we are retaining 1/3 semen interest in him.

These full ET sibs are part of the partnership between Circle Cee Charolais and Saddleridge Charolais. 618S has two very productive maternal sisters in the Saddleridge herd that are also donor cows for the embryo program. One of those sisters is CEE 125Y who is the dam of Lot 7 (RETZ 28) and of the popular Circle Cee Legend. These brothers are deep sided calves with tons of volume and good hair, traits we’ve come to expect from out Benelli calves.
