Welcome to our 7th Annual Bull Sale. 2022 was a year that showed promise and gave us some relief from the drought of 2021. We saw bumper crops of S01 oats to feed our bulls and an awesome crop of silage for roughage. We were blessed with early rains that carried us through the first half of the pasture season and filled most of our dugouts. We got pretty dry here again in the fall but the early snow this winter should provide good moisture to get a good start in the spring. The year gave us a much needed breath of fresh air and reason for optimism.

The cattle market continues to be strong and Charolais cross calves are in high demand. Every year we see more and more cattlemen realizing the benefit of the Charolais breed as a cross. Charolais bulls cross good with pretty much everything, Simmental, Angus, Hereford, Limousin, Gelbvieh and the list goes on. Charolais cross calves bring a premium, and they perform, plain and simple. Buy yourself a Charolais bull and widen your profit margins with extra pounds!

The Twin Anchor Bull class of 2023 is exceptional. Many of our seasoned mature cows had bulls this year, producing some extra performance. Our feed program has remained the same, with longevity in mind for our customers. We have continued with our TMR program and this year the bulls are getting a premium blend of home raised S01 oats with top quality silage. Our herd sires all have proven to be easy calvers, with that extra punch for good weaning weights. The genetics we have built our herd with have been carefully picked, and I think you will agree the quality shows in these bulls. We place great importance on performance, hair, calving ease, and longevity. We strive to provide our customers with bulls that will provide these qualities and sire a calf group to be proud of. Delivery:

We will deliver insured bulls to central points in Alberta, free of charge. Delivery arrangements can be made for out of province, we are very flexible. We recommend that all bulls be insured if sending back to the farm. Bulls to be picked up or delivered by May 1st, 2023.

Bull Health Program:

All bulls have had routine vaccinations on a full herd health program. Bulls will have received both shots of Fusogard to protect against foot rot. All bulls have received and passed a breeding evaluation and semen test. If any bulls are sold as deferred, no money will be exchanged until your bull has passed a semen test. It is of utmost importance to us that you are happy with your purchase, and the animals entered in the sale will be evaluated with careful consideration.

Coffee and refreshments available all morning on sale day. Lunch to be served at 11:30AM

Terms & conditions

TERMS: The terms of the sale are cash or cheque payable at par at the sale unless satisfactory credit arrangements have been made previous to the sale. The right of property shall not pass until after settlement is made. All settlement must be made with the clerks of the sale before any cattle will be released. The auctioneer shall have the right to refuse bids from anyone who has a previous record of default in payment or who has not made proper credit clearance prior to the sale with the owner or sales manager. BIDDING: Each animal is to be sold to the highest bidder. No by-bidding will be permitted. DISPUTES: In case of disputes, bidding will be reopened between the parties involved. If no further bid is made, the buyer will be the person from whom the auctioneer accepted the last bid. The auctioneer’s decision in such is final. PURCHASER’S RISK: Each animal becomes the risk of the purchaser as soon as sold. Animals will be cared for at the purchaser’s risk for a reasonable length of time. ANNOUNCEMENTS: Errors discovered in the catalogue will be corrected by announcements from the auction stand at sale time and such corrections will take precedence over the printed matter in the catalogue.

CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRY: Each animal will carry papers issued by the Canadian Charolais Association. A certificate of registry duly transferred will be furnished to the buyer for each animal after settlement has been made.

SHIPPING: Assistance will be given in making shipments after the sale, but no risk is assumed by the Sale Management or seller. Purchasers are requested to furnish shipping instructions when making settlement.

BREEDER’S GUARANTEE, BULLS: Should any bull fourteen (14) months of age or over fail to prove a breeder after being used on cows known to be breeders, the matter shall be reported in writing to the seller within six (6) months following date of purchase or six (6) months after the bull has reached fourteen (14) months of age. The seller will then have the right and privilege of six (6) months to prove the bull a breeder. No guarantee is given that semen collected from the bull will freeze.

SETTLEMENT: Transportation charges on animals returned to the seller are for account of the purchaser. No incidental expenses, such as feed, care, interest, veterinary charges, etc., will be charged by either party when making settlement. If the seller is successful in proving the animal in question to be a breeder, the said animal will be reclaimed by the purchaser at his expense. Should the seller fail to so prove the animal a breeder, the buyer is guaranteed a satisfactory replacement.

F.O.B. ranch or location of origin or a refund of the actual price. Should a dis- pute arise over the quality of a replacement animal, the Sale Management will appoint a mediator.

ACCIDENTS: Although every precaution will be taken to protect

the safety and comfort of buyers, neither the sales manager, auctioneer, or Association assumes any responsibility in this matter and disclaims any liability, legal or otherwise, in the event of accident or loss of property. LIABILITIES: All persons attend the sale at their own risk, and the sellers and the sale manager assume no liability, legal or otherwise, for any accidents occurring in or about the premises. It is to be clearly understood that the sales manager is only acting as a medium between buyer and seller and is not in any way responsible for any failure on the part of either party to live up to his obligations, or for the truth of any warranties or representation, expressed or implied. Neither does the sales manager assume any financial obligations to collect or enforce collection of any monies between parties. Any legal action that may in exceptional cases be taken, must be between the buyer and the seller. MAIL OR TELEPHONE BIDS: Bidders unable to attend the sale may phone or mail their bids and instructions to the sales man- ager, auctioneer, or special representatives. Bids must be received in sufficient time prior to the sale. RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS: The above terms and conditions of the sale constitute a contract between the buyer and the seller, and be equally binding to both. Re-sale of animals following purchase in this sale shall constitute a separate transaction, which is not covered by the terms and conditions of this sale.

A young tan power house. In terms of bull power you can’t go wrong with this bull. On the female side, Knoxville’s dam has produced one of the best cow families we have. Resistol has been a main herd sire on the ranch and his calves are standouts. He stamps his calves with a curly thick hair coat, deep middles and wide tops. What more could a cattleman want? Resistol has become a staple on our farm and the foundation of our herd. Daughters are very maternal and heavy milking. We are currently calving his 6th calf crop of calves and he is still getting around great. To say we have been impressed with this bull would be an understatement.
