BPHS senior Janessa Meuleners, who two days earlier won the girls’ high school conference cross country championship, had a chat with “Dollar” Bill Kruschke Saturday. Kruschke, who is in his 70s, was just happy to finish the Scenic Byway 5K race. Meuleners did not compete in either of Saturday’s races. She was at the park to help promote a cross country team fund-raiser (Run or DYE Tryin’ Fun Run) scheduled for Nov. 8.
