The tandem of Lilly Olson/Siri Kuhn defeated Madison Loegering/Daylyn Huper, 6-2, 6-1, in the first-doubles match. At second doubles, Belle Plaine’s Caitlin Preusser/Jocelyn Defauw battled back from a second set defeat to capture the third set and victory over Trinity Seedorf/Alyson Swanson, 6-3, 2-6, 6-1. The Tigers won the third-doubles match with Jessica Prader/Emma Luskey defeating Katy Dylla/Lauren Zebro, 6-2, 6-4. Belle Plaine couldn’t match USC in the singles matches. Kiersten Skelley lost to Carly Weber, 4-6, 0-6, at first singles. Kadence Bran de leon lost to Emma Barnd, 1-6, 3-6 at second singles. The third-singles match saw Belle Plaine’s Katie Piampiano fall to Delaney Weber, 1-6, 5-7. In the fourth-singles match, Tatum Ackerman battled Kori Elmer into a second set tiebreaker before falling in a three-set match, 3-6, 7-6 (6), 4-6. “We played a very close match with USC. Despite losing 4-6, Tatum played some of the best tennis she has played this year,” BPHS coach Melissa Hanson said. “Our doubles teams played very well and is one of our teams strengths.”
